As a Rocker, is there a band that I'm unlikely to have heard of? Or is there a song that's under the radar from a big band??
You're not into rock? - no problem give me a group from Hip/Hop, RnB, Rap , pop etc.
I love learning about new bands and different types of music. I Cant wait to hear from you all.
Much Love

    It's a whacky weird bizarre song, and it's just a real lot of fun. Watching them play it is guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

    It is the same riff... but the B52s did it 38 years earlier... "Rock Lobster" was well-received by critics, and went on to place at No. 147 on Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time list in December 2004.

    As a person living in the state of Georgia, USA, not too far from the University of Georgia, B-52s and REM were staples of my youth. (Both bands formed there). They were - unique. Never bought an album, but when the "Down! Down! Down!" part of this song comes on, I remember being in a dance club and everyone squatting until the beat rose again. Better to dance to than think of philosophically. If you want some great music, have you done any Prince? Start with either "When Doves Cry" or "Sign O The Times." To show off Prince's skills, watch the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame performance with Tom Petty. Enjoying your reactions!

    "What the hell are they singing about?" Me sitting here just waiting for the animal noises to kick in. 🍿😂 The song is about an underwater marine life party. Simple as that. This is the ultimate beach/pool party song. In the 80s, it was a huge club hit and we all did the "down down" move and danced our asses off like the nerds in the front row. This was prime sweat your azz off music. Remember that the Bs started in the punk/new wave scene, so the energy, will be chaotic and leveled up, especially earlier Bs, which is some of the most Bizarrely catchy music you will ever listen to. They have VERY few songs with serious lyrics. I can only think of two off the top of my head. I have had the privilege of seeing this band live more times than I can count, and I can assure you, every show is a musical and visual spectacle and those girl's voices permeated my soul. There is quite a rabbit hole, so basically if you want early B-52s super quirky and bizarre, I recommend Private Idaho, Dance This Mess Around and Planet Claire. For more mainstream Bs, check out Channel Z or Roam. For something in between, I love Legal Tender and Song For a Future Generation. Some great live choices would be June Bug or Mesopatamia, live for the Cosmic Thing tour and Big Bird, live in Germany.

    Wait, I just noticed the guy's bass guitar is a normal 6-string with 2 strings on top and 2 strings on the bottom with 2 spaces in between. What the heck is going on? If there's a musician here, please explain wtf this is!!!

  • @dipsydoodle7988

    @dipsydoodle7988

    It's not a bass, it's a guitar and that was a Ricky Wilson signature move. It is basically how the early Bs acquired their early signature "beach party movie" guitar sound. They are quite talented musically. The antics sometimes obscure that, but don't let it fool you. Watch and listen and you will find all kinds of gems.

    Ok, this was madness. I know the song more than I'd like to - it was everywhere when it came out. I need something to get me back on my feet again. How about a little Metallica? Don't know if you've ever seen a video from a show that was held in Moscow in '90 or '91 that featured several bands but Metallica is shown most often here on KZread by reactors. The song I'm requesting is called Creeping Death. It's about an event in the Bible. Not sure if it's a plague or when all newborn boys were ordered to be killed bc one of them was Jesus. Never read the lyrics, obviously. But if you follow history, you'll know that the Soviet Union just fell apart and it opened that nation up to the rest of the world. The first rock concert in Russia??? Let's just say more than a few people showed up for the show. Strap in, my friend. It's gonna be a hell-of-a ride!!

    …..if you rewatch this video again , you will notice the guitarist has a missing string on his guitar on purpose to get that famous B-52’s sound ! In fact every B-52 track it’s missing ! (Fun Fact) “Planet Claire” “Private Idaho” “ Dance This Mess Around” 🔥❤️🎸
