The song is about aiming to succeed being young and not conforming to social norms ignoring what judgemental people say focusing on their goals... the chirus "siamo fuori di testa ma diversi da loro" literally means "we're out of our mind but different from them" or later on "parla la gente purtroppo parla non sa di che cosa parla tu portami dove sto a galla che qui mi manca l'aria " means "talk, people unfortunately talk, they don't know what they're talking about, carry me where a can't stay afloat 'cause I can'tbreathe" 😊

For the record the :"parla la gente purtroppo parla" bit essentially comes down to "people talk, but they have no idea what they are talking about.( hence the cochroach) Just like the title of the song(zitti e buoni) means "shut up and be good'. I've been told it's a phrase Italian teachers use against unruly students. Damiano used to hear it a lot ;-)

The line "non sa di che cazzo parla" translates as "they don't know what the fuck they are talking about"... I know because I'm Italian. 🇮🇹

my favourite show of theirs is lollapalooza 2022, you should watch their performance of “i wanna be your slave” from that show, also you are definitely correct on it being a european thing, americans are known throughout the world as being weirdly conservative especially when it comes to nudity and sexuality, whereas in a lot of european places things that americans would be outraged at is stuff that we wouldn’t even take notice of. especially the italians, they’re sort of known throughout europe for being pretty “flamboyant” which is by the european standard so i can’t even imagine how americans must think of them lol

You have to listen to Måneskin perform "Coraline" with orchestra (Sanremo 2022). Live Performance. It’s another song in Italian. My suggestion - Don’t watch the video with English subtitles. Just watch the Italian version first.
