Please react to Iron Maiden "The Red and the Black" live book of souls! It's the most epic instrumental part I've ever seen from them. SOOO many melody and tempo changes and they nail them all perfect.

You said in your video you wanted to listen to more of them and see more videos like this you should check out the lead singer Serj Tankian's solo work like empty walls, lesser known but good stuff.
Great reaction Aileen to an awesome song. One of SOAD's best. Shavo (bassist) in an interview with the Phoenix New Times explains that the little alien-looking boy is actually himself. He says "I've always felt alienated. So I made him a little alien-kid." He further explains that back then it took him weeks and a lot of CGI money to come up with the face and nowadays it's a simple phone filter. He further notes that back when the song came out he refused to say who the kid was. "Now, 20 years later. I'm telling you."

i always interpreted this song as something that looks so "weird" or "out of this world" like an alien, that we promote it, make it popular, try to make money from it, etc...

Thanks for this insight
This is one of the most hauntingly beautiful songs ever created. LOVE THIS SONG
It’s so weird growing up listening to SOAD but being too young to pay attention or analyze the lyrics, and then watching review videos and actually understanding the meaning. And I love the way you analyze the song as a whole and look forward to more SOAD! 🤘 ❤
“What does it profit a man to gain the world, yet forfeit his soul?” Always thought this was an appropriate description of this video. Maybe I’m wrong…but it resonates with me. Thanks for the re-upload! Great song :)

You’re on the right track well done
You're spot on with the meaning, envying the freedom of the aerialists, also for more harmonies I recommend their song (and video) 'Question'
It's probably their masterpiece, subtle and complex. Both instrumentally and vocally I consider it their best performance. Great reaction! ( I think the gifted child likes the circus, because he's normal among the unusual people there)

@@insertgenericusernamehere2402 Lonely day might be one of Daron's best work (The song is his I'm pretty sure ), but Aerials is their undeniable peak. Other songs are the stuff of legend too ( The whole first album, Toxicity , steal this album and most of mezmerize/Hypnotize...

@@RufusShinra I believe serj's solo work eclipses most of what he does with system. My favourite serj song in system however is deer dance.
@RufusShinra

@@insertgenericusernamehere2402 I partly agree and Deer Dance is one of my all time favorite, but I still have to hear any of his solo work match or surpass hi best Soad songs. It might have to do with the fact that his voce changed alot post Soad ( More nasal and operatic ) . Lyrically though I much prefer his solo stuff that's for sure.

For me it is "Question!", but "Aerials" is close second
“Spiders” is appropriate for this time of year being 🎃 but some of Serj’s solo work is breathtaking
Serg’s voice is so unique and stunning. I adore his singing range
The whole "wishing you were free to live your childhood" thing definitely speaks to war and it's effect on children. 100% ❤
After hearing tons of reactions to this song, your interpretation of it is seriously the most accurate i have ever heard. I thought of this the same way as you. I heard this song in High School but actually got deep in SOAD long after those days when i got a more appreciation for music.
Should Definitely do BYOB, Sugar, and Hypnotize
It was amazing watching your reaction to this gem :) "Swimming through the void we here the word, we lose ourselves but we find it all" something to think about in these marvelouse times.
Top reaction!! No need to doubt yourself Aileen!! Your so real! Your feelings, your thoughts, beautifully transferred into words... Keep it Up Sista!!🤘🤘🤘🎶🎶💯💯🎵🎵

I love your reaction on this heart touchig piece of art.
You love their harmony and i love you lmao
If you like their voice, check out their separate projects. Serji, the lead, has solo projects, and the Daran has a band called Scars on Broadway.
I love this song they are one of my favorite bands great song choice 👍.

I had forgotten how much I love this song! Thanks for this reaction. SOAD is just on another level for me, I was thinking what songs to suggest next but they have a crazy number of uniquely amazing songs, all their albums deserve a deep dive! Just some names that come to mind - Soldier Side, Hypnotize, Mr Jack, Holy Mountains, Cigaro, Radio Video, IEAIAIO, and countless more ...
Saw this band headline ozzfest mainstage in 02 and, it was, LEGIT the single most amazing live band experience I've ever had. I've seen hundreds of bands, and the only band that hit my feels more than SOAD live was Heart

Me too! I didn’t even know they were going to play!
Holy mountains is probably my favourite vocal performance from SOAD and well worth a listen
Love this band and your reactions! ❤️
Nothing like a beautiful woman taking in awesome music correctly. We all are hybrids somewhere down the line.
Well this is rather unexpected, thank you for the upload Aileen, I'm looking forward to seeing this.
Aerials and Spiders are my fav SOAD songs! Really expresses their range. They can do the whole psycho-circus punk-metal thing, but they can be quite beautiful and melodic as well. Such great harmonies, and great Bass work by Shavo. And John is one of the most underrated drummers; how does he keep up with these guys?

You're absolutely right about their range! I feel like Chop Suey is another great example of this. It's kind of a blend of this hardcore stuff with beautiful vocals.
So glad you're back doing reactions here. Hope you are well 🤘
Great review! I wish you had a podcast. I love your views on these videos and listening to you describe how the song felt for yourself.
Loved the reaction! Could really see a connection with the music, and that was dope. With the trapeze artists, during the second verse I believe, you could see one of the acrobatics “left hanging,” so to speak. I believe that was a parallel drawn between the song’s message and what the boy is seemingly going through.
I love how expressive you are
Crazy! This is a song I grew up with! So cool seeing someone experiencing it for the first time.
- If you've already seen/heard Chop Suey, Toxicity and BYOB, then probably these next (roughly in order of importance): Spiders Question! Hypnotize Sugar Lonely Day All have official music videos on their main page. Love your reactions ! | : ] '
My first time on your channel. Love the reaction and also is that your current heart rate being displayed? What a cool concept for a reaction channel! Keep doing what you're doing and I have no doubt you'll continue to do well. New subscriber.

I love your reaction to this so much because of your open perspective. I have often felt like I was interpreting songs (and therefore feeling songs) incorrectly. But when I see someone else saying “hey, maybe my interpretation is wrong but my feelings are real”, I realize that even if I’m not reading the song right my emotional reaction to it is still valid. Thanks for that, love your reactions❤
I always thought “Question?” is a song that best showcased some of that, “tasty harmony” - as you say - from the two vocalists (wait for that punchy chorus)…. Hope you get a chance to react to it!! 🤘🏼🎃🤘🏼

'Question!' is my favorite SOAD song. The video was high paced entertainment too, but the messages in their songs are layered and deep.
Definitely need to watch the other videos. Definitely worth going down this rabbit hole of music and lyrics.
Ah yes.. a System of a Down classic right there.. I was glad when I got rid of that ear worm back then when it came out but thanks to Aileen's efford it's back again.. I bet when I go to bed tonight my brain will be like "hey dude.. you know what? AERIAAAAAAALS IN THE SKYYYYY"

I fail to see the problem! 😅
Given the nature of your videos, when you find a band that's new to you and you really like them, how difficult is it to avoid listening to more songs in your off-camera time? I feel like it would be incredibly hard
Imo. System of a Down is one of the artists where looking up the meaning of a song before you listen goes a very long way. Their writing is insanely good with incredible meaning
I'd love to see more music reaction vidoes from you, especially of more System of a Down as well as other rock and metal bands.
Love this reaction just as much as the first time 😁
OMG....you are the first reactor to get the idea behind this video. Yes Aerials in the sky....
This song is a masterpiece.
Saw these guys on their last tour before they went on haitus in Scotland. 2 Hours of awesomeness.
Oh hell yeah, SOAD is definitely one of my all time fave bands. Up there with Rush for me. One of those groups where you can listen to pretty much their entire discography without skipping many songs.
Man this song is great one of my favorites!
Hell ty, you're so emotional when you're feeling that shit ma'am. That's why we love ya too, keep it up. The Metal FrownFace is classic too. We all make it when we enjoy the jams. Hehehe

I always love how your expression and love for music makes me happy 😊... Sugar or SpIders from SOAD
Loved System for having friends and I rocking out at parties and realizing they were laying down heavy social/political issues. i.e. B.Y.O.B.
Thanks a lot . Love that song
I think the alien kid represented how the band felt about their original sound, very unique and organic, and how their mainstream success and signing on with certain record labels catapulted them into fame but at the cost of perverting their message and overall vibe..
Once you complete more of your System of A Down journey you should check out the first album from Serj Tankian (Lead singer from system) and the first album from Scars On Broadway (founded by Daron Malakian also from system of a down)
First time watching your reactions. I always thought that this song made a reference to humanity and a god. XD
BYOB is my fav System of a Down song, if u haven’t heard it I definitely recommend it!
I’m here for all System of a Down and holy mountains is a fun one
dang you got a stunning smile also great reaction
System Of A Down is a Tankian, Malakian, Dolmayan and Odjajian. nothing can will ever replace him
might i suggest 'Question!' for more harmonies :) unless youve already listened to it since this video was made haha
You should absolutely check out the covers of this and Toxicity, Chop Suey by Halocene with Lauren Babic and Violet Orlandi. Lauren will blow your mind with her screams and range.

Love this song. It's probably my favorite one to play on bass. Never could figure out the deal with that kid though, Is he like an alien hybrid or something
@joeadamczak
Жыл бұрын
He has an alien look because he feels alienated through whatever fame he has...
I definitely feel like a big part of the message in the song is that life is brief and chaotic, a "waterfall" between the long "river" before you're born and after you're gone. And so many people "want to play but never want to lose." They spend their life so obsessed with gaining something like fame or riches, with being a winner, that they don't actually enjoy the life they have
Bounce and Sugar, both a lot of fun, very high energy and Serj is like FERAL loud on them, in a good way.
System of a Down Question! Is a great song to listen too with great vocal range and music.
This is probably my favorite S.O.A.D song. And last time i listened to it, i was surprised to find out my mom liked it also
Art and depth. Period.
Nice reaction For example, I recommend the song and video clip :Question!
Thanks for bringing it back. One of their best tmho.
This is such a beautiful song by SOAD and has a powerful message
Your voice is mesmerizing . Beautiful like you. 🤍
The kid's name is Eamon Farren. He played in the Netflix series "The Witcher."
System of America Down is a great band and also a great message at the same time 💀
The outro of the song is simply haunting.
Great song choice to react ailieen
Great analysis.
Love System of a down amazing band 🤘🏻🎸🖤
Should definitely check out Sugar; it's very raw. Spiders would be great too. Amazing vocals and interesting video.
awesome I was the 1k like exactly, that's cool!
So good so deep ❤
Serj uses a lot of Armenian influences in his singing, that fast vibrato he does is very common Armenian singing style
When you lose small mind, you free your life When free your eyes, eternal prize
Hello another reaction S.O.T.D.song is the same name of a reaction when I first seen you "Sugar"😏.Great video Cheers.
This is my favorite System Of A Down song!
The setting is a circus tent on an alien planet. The kid represents a curious alien who likes the music and the fame. However after a little taste of the fame on earth where he’s treated like a freak and a curiosity figure he longs for his familiar environs..
I would really like to see your reaction to Killswitch Engage "Always" (the official video). It is perhaps the most realistic emotional music video ever made - even overshadowing the song. It isn't their best song, but the video's message will be amaranthine in your mind. It puts everything in life in perspective. No words can do it justice.
💯 on point!
Congratulations very good reaction and analysis. I recommend your Steven Wilson two great songs , Harmony Korine, Routine this last one with one of the most surprising videos that I have seen deserves that you react to it.. a pleasure to see your reactions because you contribute something that others do not transmit I do not know how to explain it but it is like living with you the emotion of the songs. Cheers from Chile Sud América
The kid became famous. When you become famous you feel and are treated like an alien 😉
This is the kids imagination. Dreaming of a better life. The aerials in the sky can also be a metaphor for the people in our dreams.
the eyebrow love it!
im pretty sure the boy is the "freak" of the show what draws people in something people wanna see. and he looks up at the women who do the "aerials" and he wants to be like them.
I like ur reactions funny that I see this because I’m a chef and I cook for sage Chavo and John they are so friendly I love this guys nice work girl
Feel good having seen them live in CLE 2005 . Fuckin awesome show Mars Volta opened but SOAD blew the roof off !
Great music
You are awesome at reactions But am amazed at how fast you can talk
Bassist Shavo Odadjian has recently claimed the kid has a CGI face based on a transformation of his own face. This may not seem like a big deal this days, but that was a hell of a CGI effort back in 2001.. When I first saw the vid it made me feel like humans had been interbreeding with grays 👽
