Hi Dereck! Thanks for your react on Seal. Long before singing Seal worked in fashion, he was a designer, specializing in leather clothing, in King's Road even if he had undertaken studies in architecture before living odd jobs like everyone else. I remember that as soon as I heard this song I liked it very much and I bought the 2-track cassette (K7 single), a new medium at the time in France in 1991. This song "Crazy" was released in November 1990 in the UK as the first single from his eponymous debut album released in May 1991, ranked No. 5 in the TOP 50. It is one of his greatest successes of his career and the title also meets a triumph in most of Europe: no.2 in the UK (UK Singles Chart), no.1 in the Netherlands, Sweden , Switzerland and both charts in Walloon Belgium, no.3 in Norway, no.5 in Austria, no.6 in Ireland, no.9 in Italy, Australia and in Canada. In the United States it (the song) reached places 7 and 6 on the famous Billboard Hot 100 and Cash Box rankings as well as a 17th place on the Hot Dance Music/Maxi-Singles Sales. The music video, directed by Big TV!, features multiple versions of Seal himself singing the song against a white colored background. A female dancer appears just before the bridge and just at the end, Seal is holding a dove as the snow falls on him. I recommend the "follow up" of this album "Future Love Paradise" the same year. I remember in the clip Seal is with a child on a big armchair and also "Killer" a title released a few months before the success of "Crazy" with Adamski in 1990. Attention: there are two versions just like two different clips. For the second released in 1991, the clip contains special effects and I remember that you had to have special 2D or 3D glasses to see more details than when you look at it normally. Great memories from when I was 14. I had bought the K7 single of this title, it was so good! I still have it. 1991, a very good musical year and also a lot of "come back" from French singers like Mylène with "Désenchantée" for example and many others. The early 90's were great with good music and choice, more like today. Thanks to the Patreon sub for this super moment of nostalgia.

Love him. His live version of Kiss from a Rose ( from the Batman movie), with an orchestra, is sublime. He was also a fabulous ,kind & clever mentor on American Idol.

I've never gotten a proper explanation for what's making that hypnotic sounds coming right after the first drumbeat. Is it a synthesizer thing? I think it is, but I've always wanted to know for sure. Unfortunately I can never quite manage to explain what exactly I'm referring to. For me at least it's a sonic lead in to a sort of a dream state/state of bliss, which is why I love this song so much. Many songs are great, but few have that almost uncanny ability to take you out of yourself, and make you feel like you're floating along with the music.

Wish music like this would still get the attention it deserves. There's so many great artists out there, but the bad ones get the attention of the main public. Back then Seal was soooo cool, this and KILLER were the two super tracks, that blew us away back then. But then... only sh*t came for me, except for his collaboration with our goddess Mylene of course, but only because of it fits to HER not HIM.
