Hey, brother! I was one of those in the crowd only a few feet from front row, at least for a short while when Triumph and Quiet Riot were playing. Once Motley Crew took the stage and the crowd got rowdy, we were pushed back to the tower. I agree, this by far has been the best show ever, even after going to hundreds of concerts since then. Too bad VH had to end on a bad note.

Great choice, because this live version is imo their prime time.
This was the US Festival, 1983. My dad was there, and the reported attendance was over 600,000. He talks about this specific concert to me all the time, as Judas Priest was louder than Van Halen, Ozzy, and the Scorpions on that day. He said it took him hours to get to the front, but he was still able to do it.

One of the Greatest Heavy Metal Songs ever written......his Scream after the Middle Part is LEGENDARY !!!!!!....His Version of the THE WHO : WONT GET FOOLED AGAIN Scream !
Very good choice, can't wait to see your jaw drop!🤘😉
I agree with comments about Dreamer/Deceiver. A true golden oldie. Another big one would be Beyond The Realms of Death. That particural tracl captures something really essential, not only in metal but in music in general. Priest played here in Finland about three months ago. That was my 11th time seeing them live. Priest will be back🤘
I first heard this song in 1978. I was 14 years old. The album was brilliant, the music was groundbreaking, Rob Halford was otherworldly the way he sang. And the band was amazing. Aileen it is so cool to see your reaction to this song and performance. Thank you.
Growing up in the 80’s was a blessing for metal fans. Seeing the talent spawned by Black Sabbath coming constantly with killer tracks made my record collection huge. Loved your take on this old one.
There were 350,000 of us metal heads in 105* heat loving every minute of it! The line up was Triumph, Quiet Riot, Motley Crew, Ozzy, Judas Priest, Scorpions and Van Halen.
I wasn't a metal fan, but this album is raw power! No present day band can pull this off.
They're still amazing live . Saw them in 2019 in Los Angeles. Judas Priest, Dio and Bruce Dickinson are the top 3 classic metal voices 🤘

Queensryche ep and the warning ⚠️ are also pure genius 😊
"Demonizer" from their 2005 album 'Angel of Retribution' is one of my favorite Judas Priest songs. Rob Halford left 2 years after their Legendary 1990 album 'Painkiller' came out. He rejoined Priest in 2003 and the rest is history as that was the start of another amazing era for the band. 'Angel of Retribution' is a worthy follow-up to 'Painkiller' and 'Painkiller' was already a landmark album.
There were 10’s of thousands at the US festival that year and was in the summer thus him being hot and all. Awesome song and it really showcases Rob’s vocal range.

Keep in mind there was likely a lot of drinking going on as well. Bands of that era were no strangers to being drunk on stage. Sometimes absolutely obliterated but could still pull off outstanding performances. Alcohol turns the skin a flush color and is a sign of alcohol sensitivity.

This is the song that made me a Judas Priest fan. They gave me a whole lot of reasons to be one. 💯🤘🎶🎸
Cant wait, this performance is epic. Had suggested it a few times, going to love it
Fun fact, Scott Travis one of the drummers sold me my drum kit 24 years ago at guitar center and even autographed the kit. Also Aileen loves bass, it is shocking to me she hasn't done Primus with Les Claypool. "Jerry was a race car driver" she will love the bass and break down
Great reaction👍🏻 Judas Priest are right up there with Black Sabbath in my opinion. You can't go wrong with Priest, live or studio. Keep them coming. You look great by the way and your eyebrow still does it for me. I've never been able to do that 🤨
Just love you’re interaction and energy towards all you’re videos!!
Judas Priest is the very top of the mountain. Ill never stop listening to them.
I've seen them twice. Priest does NOT fuck around.
The version on the live album 'Unleashed in the East' is the definitive version of this song.
I've watched several of the songs from that performance many times and feel the same way. Thanks for the great review.

Another great reaction girl, keep up the good work.
the studio version of dreamer Deceiver is a must absolute must!!
Oh damn!! Excited for this one
This was their pinnacle performance. I am SO happy you experienced this. It hit me exactly the same way.
Judas Priest along with Iron Maiden and Kiss are absolutely the top three bands that changed my life.....but Judas Priest is number one for me I bought their "Stained Class" album in 1986 when I was 12 years old at a flea market on cassette with my allowance money for like five dollars it was my first album purchase ever with my own money the album blew me away and to this day it's one of the most unique sounding heavy metal albums I'd ever heard and it forever changed my life musically!!!
KK and Glen are one one of metals greatest tandems of all time, a shame after 40 years , they are no longer together
I'm so glad you did this particular video and performance of this amazing song... not enough people do... just shows how powerful Robs vocals are... and how talented the musicianship is.... Great reaction...😁

Run Of The Mill is my favorite deep track. You're right it rarely gets any love or bullets.
I have the 70's version on 'Unleashed In The East' on one of my workout playlists. I saw Priest twice in the early to mid 80's while in high school.
I love how KK rips it up on his solo, then goes into those muted, percussive hits before the interlude.
You're on a roll!
I saw Rob Halford live 1983 in Honolulu I was second row No One Compares to him the scream the vocal range he is the true one metal god
Unleased in the East.. LIVE !!..One of the best metal Albums EVER!!!! Every song kicks ass!!
I was listening to this song in about 1985 when I met a Creek/Seminole Indian girl in Tulsa. We got married. Later on, I sent her away with tears in my eyes. I was still listening to this song. I still listen to it now. Got a lot of history with this song.
Time very well spent watching their whole set at us festival.. Highly recommended. Priest is still putting on a great show, saw them back in April this year, Rob can still make your jaw drop with those high notes at age 70.
Love JP and Rob's voice has always been incredible. I would love to hear you react to Geoff Tates voice on his performance of Take Hold of the Flame, you want to talk about range!!
Funny you mentioned multiple songs Aileen. This song was composed by fusing two earlier songs. The main part of the song, including the riffs, came from "Whisky Woman," which was written in 1972 while original Priest singer Al Atkins was still in the band. The softer passage, building up tension for the climaxing ending of the song, came from a song singer Rob Halford had written called "Red Light Lady." K.K. Downing, Glenn Tipton, Rob Halford and Al Atkins are all credited for writing the song. The song's lyrics have been debated by Priest fans. The song seems to focus on a woman who is past her prime, which leads her to drown her sorrows in alcohol when she can't find a man anymore. At first glance, she might seem like the "Victim of Changes," but later in the song, the "I" of the lyrics (a man speaking to the woman) reveals a certain affection for her, and a dissatisfaction because he's lost her and he can't have her back, making him the victim. This has never been cleared up.
Could not wait for this girl 😍
Probably one of the all-time classic Judas Priest songs. One the best live verisons. This day was on Sunday, May 29 (Heavy Metal Day). And the bands that played were: Quiet Riot, Mötley Crüe, Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priest, Triumph, Scorpions and Van Halen. The reprise festival ran for three days[...] In late May, its first day weather was slightly cooler at 35 °C, but air quality conditions in the region were the worst in four years. The total attendance was reported at 670,000 and the festival still lost $12 million; as Van Halen was reportedly paid $1.5 million dollars to perform. There were two reported deaths
Yeah, classic Priest. I can see you really like them, and undstandibly so. Live in Memphis 82, songs; Desert Plains and Riding on the Wind are must see! Seriously , this is Priest at their best and why they at the time were referred to as 'Metal Gods' . /,,/ ! Peace // Defenders imo their best album is choc full of metal goodness, a metal symphony from the first note to the last, a perfect album.
The rest of they're set is epic also 😎
I was 23 and rocking and partying like crazy 🤣 so much fun Judas priest was so good 👍😊 his voice is so awesome ❤

"Dreamer, Deceiver/Deceiver" is the song(s) you must hear next...but please do the studio version. Ideally, there is a good lyric video out there with the studio version as the music. In any case, these songs ffg o together, and they will give you a better idea of vocalist Rob Halford's true range and versatility. God bless!!
Nothing better than a dose of Priest to make the day better. Cheers from a fan in Australia!
I love that u talk a lot. It's being passionate about what u like!
A superb yet underrated live song of theirs is Exciter from the Unleashed in the East EP. There's no video for it, just the track but no other version is nearly as epic as that one. Enjoy!
Great reaction! Some other great songs include Beyond the Realms of Death, Blood Red Skies, Hell Bent for Leather, Screaming for Vengeance, and Freewheel Burning. They have a lot of great songs though. Beyond the Realms of Death has one of my favorite guitar solos and a great tone to the guitars, but it's best to listen to the studio version of that song.

One thing I'm proud of these times was so many people together just enjoying their favourite bands (or discovering some others we just knew the name, not their sound) and not even a thought about "mUh SaFeTy".. The world was so much cool andcsafe back then (we were tougher, too)
Saw them in a small club in their early days. They had enough equipment for a stadium venue. You didn’t hear the music, you felt it. Best live band I’ve seen, and I’ve seen hundreds.
I’m hoping for something from the Defenders of the Faith album eventually. The best tracks on there are absolutely incredible: Freewheel Burning Jawbreaker Rock Hard Ride Free The Sentinel The first four tracks of the album all killer from one to the next.
Cruising around KZread and I always seem to gravitate back to either you or Judas Priest. Best of both worlds here the look on your face at 5:30 is priceless.
It makes me so happy to see you feeling and loving the music that I grew up with. I still feel that as a teenager in the 70s I grew up with the best and most creative music. Now I get the pleasure of seeing the younger generations getting the same excitement.
I watch a lot of reaction vids. This woman gets it. Subscribed.

I was at that concert, along with about 400,000 other people. US Festival 83 in San Bernardino. Besides Priest, the lineup that day included Motley Crue, Quiet Riot, Triumph, Ozzy, Scorpions, and Van Halen who headlined the show. Tickets were $20 and I still have my ticket stub from the day. Thinking back on it, if Randy Rhoades had not died the year before fans would have been able to hear him and Eddie Van Halen on the same day. That would have been amazing. Rest in Paradise Randy and Eddie.

It's good to drink from the fountain, revisit the legends, remember where we came from... that same year I watched for the first and only time in my life the show of another legend, Van Halen! Still in 1983 I was able to watch the Kiss show playing for the first time in my country in a stadium packed with 40 thousand people. These are wonderful memories that we were able to witness at the birth of this incredible musical style that is Heavy Metal!
