Wa is one of the names for Japan, and gakki means a musical instrument - they are literally the Japanese instrument band, even as they play fusion and use western instruments as much as the traditional ones. As for what’s what: the singer is singing in shigin style (often called “poetry singing”); the guitar-like thing is called shamisen; the big fat flute is shakuhachi; the floor harp is koto; the Japanese drums are Japanese drums (wadaiko). The song Senbonzakura (“a thousand cherry trees”) is not their song, but at this point it might as well be. But it is a cover of a song by a popular virtual singer Hatsune Miku. The Hatsune Miku concert version is also pretty impressive, but I think Wagakki Band did something wonderful with it. Even if I don’t particularly like the song’s message.

That's a good introduction to them, a fantastic band, each a great musician and performer. The live performances are every bit as good as their videos, they have quite a range of sounds, from rock through to even a jazzy number (Synchronicity), sometimes just the contemporary instruments, sometimes just the traditional. Other popular songs are, Homura + Akatsuki no ito (2015 first Japanese tour), Tengaku, Sun Wheel, to name a few. Frank Garcia's channel and CCW both have a huge selection mostly with subtitles available. It's a very pleasant rabbit hole to go down.

Guernica, both the song and Picasso's painting are in reference to the intense air bombing of Guernica (Spain) in 1937 for those who don't know.
