Ah yes. Slip into the diamond.

It's so satisfying to watch someone who genuinely tries to analyze both lyrics and visuals. Especially since Seventeen is really involved in their work. 13 is a lot of members, so I think it would be great to watch their units' songs. They are split into 3 smaller units within the group based on their strengths, so we have Vocal Unit (5 amazing singers), Hiphop Unit (4 main rappers) and Performance Unit (4 main dancers and choreographers). Just on a side note - all of them are multitalented, so it's not that only Vocal Unit can sing or only Hiphop Unit can rap, these are just their specialities, and thanks to the units people can really focus on the individual talents within that big group. So I recommend "Trauma" by Hiphop Unit (the rappers wrote that song about their own traumas), "Pinwheel" by Vocal Unit (the lyrics are based on a dream that one of the members had - after he woke up he wrote that song) and "Lilili Yabbay" by Performance Unit (amazing choreography and heavenly falsettos). i also think it's really impressive that they produce their own music and choreo. they were originally supposed to be 17 members but some left before debut. they are 13 members, 3 sub-units and one group, 13 + 3+ 1 = 17 :)

The whole "There used to be 17 but some left before debut" is actually not true. Pre-debut Seventeen never actually had 17 members at any given time. They were called Seventeen from the start when they only had like 11 members (at the start of 17TV) and as time went on, more members joined, some left, but there never was a single moment where they actually had 17 members, it was just a predebut group name that they ended up keeping. Yes in the end, they did coincidently have a total of 17 boys who were at one point in the predebut line up but never at once.

One of the members (Woozi) who is also the Vocal Unit Leader, said in one of their interviews that they compose/create music not based on what's trending but on what the members want to express to their fans (Carats). Like Left n Right, for me its choosing what you really love whether its L or R. As youth, enjoy what you're doing at your own pace.

I saw someone already explained the 13+3+1=17 things, but I want to clarify/elaborate on why they're called seventeen! their company's original plan was to debut 17 members with an average age of 17. however they never had 17 trainees at any one time and their company couldn't afford to push back debut any longer due to financial reasons, so they debuted with 13 members. (I don't really like when ppl say members left before debut bc it's a bit misleading, they weren't official members, they were just trainees being considered for the lineup) enjoyed your reaction, gonna watch your lyric analysis video next ^^

Pledis definitely did have more male trainees, just not ones they add to the pre-debut line up. The trainees weren't automatically added to the line up as soon as they auditioned for the company. Example being OneUs' Hwanwoong who was a Pledis trainee around the time Seventeen was still in pre-debut phase. I don't think they ever actually planned to have a full 17 membered group or if they did, they scrapped it very early on. There was a gap of time during 17TV where majority of the predebut members left, its unknown if they left on their own accord or were cut but some do believe Pledis chose to cut some of those members and later decided to add Minghao. And I agree with you. The whole "there used to be 17 members but some left before debut" is not an accurate explanation. Its just a very widespread misinformation that still needs to be corrected 5 years after their debut.

These guys are called Self-producing Idol which means they do almost everything by themself. Woozi, the tiny one, he's vocal unit's leader, the main song writer and producer. Hoshi, performance unit's leader and the main choreographer of Seventeen. If you want to know more about them, react to "A Supbar Guide to Seventeen" I really recommend you to check out their dance practices cause they are called "King of Synchronization" Some recommendations for you. You are very good at interpreting the videos together with the songs! Loved your reaction. I only wanted to add that in "Left and right" the crash and then the rise, defying adversities, was so much meaningful because of who was in the car: SCoups, Seventeen's leader, had to leave the group for a few months due to heavy anxiety and depression. Now he is back and he is so much better.

Wow thank you for reacting to them, I really like how you break down the MVs. Just want to add that Seventeen is known as self-producing idol which means they are heavily invested in their crafts(composing songs, writing lyrics, choreographs, producing their own contents and etc.) hehe and also I recommend you to watch Thanks, Home and Fear(those three are my favourite lyrics-wise). Seventeen is a self producing group, so they have a hand in every piece of each song that they make. They produce and choreograph each song. Because of that all the pieces hold so much meaning and tell the story of the song. It all builds to give their messages to us.

@@ItsDoctorAnime they also have a storyline of songs that is the steps in a relationship break up and healing that the end of one choreo is the start of another. For example Dont Wanna Cry goes straight into Without You which is about healing and moving on. If you want some of their other songs that are amazing lyric wise and are just raised up by their videos I suggest Thanks, Fear, and my personal favorite song My I. Also Smile Flower is their song for their fans and is the most incredible thing if you watch a live perfoemance.

I only just realised that the first time it shows the 'do your best' in left and right, there is an LED sign thats on and pointing right, and then at the end when it shows the shot again, the sign is off. I'm thinking it could represent that when people are telling you to go in a certain direction, they tell you to do your best but then as soon as you go your own way, they don't support you as much but you just have to do what you want even if it isn't what people think you should do or what you are best at

wow you got the message of Left&Right mv without watching Hit the road episode 3 yet. I actually believe that the meaning behind this mv was about their leader (S.coups) who took hiatus late 2019 and missed half of their world tour due to health issue but was able to get courage to come back again and continue. That’s why when the car crashed and fell down, he got up and continue dancing, which actually explains Hit the road episode 3 :)) sorry for the spoiler alert btw but if you have time, you can watch their documentary Hit The Road :) also, Fallin flower is one on my most favourite mv, it is aesthetically made, from lyrics to choreography

You should read the lyrics to these mvs since i think only one of them has eng subs. trauma, lilili yabbay, and pinwheel are mvs of the sub units which are vocal team, hip hop team, and performance team! I recommend watching a guide and if you want i could link you a really good one but it’s 2 hours long if you don’t mind (you can split it to parts)

I just absolutely LOVE SEVENTEEN that's why I love that you like them. Thank you for the great reaction video. It was also interesting how you analyze them and the lyrics😊. I recommend that you watch at least one song from every unit. Or listen to the ones that has no music video. I'm sure you've read from CARATS' (seventeen fans) comments how SEVENTEEN is divided in three units. Every unit is still killing it with the vocals and performances😊. Anyway, hope you continue watching SEVENTEEN and liking them.

If u want a guide I recommend “a guide to Seventeen: the movie” by SVTguide. It’s the best guide out there and u could split it into 4 separate parts.

Also, I assume you noticed that SVT is a (great) dancing group but they’re also known for their versatile concepts leaving *Carats* (the fandom) surprised. They do bright and dark concepts. Can you do an album listen? If you want i suggest you look out to their current album which is henggarae. The music and lyrics of that album is just something else. Btw, i love that you being in depth with them because their artistry goes deep, personal or intimate as them. Hope you dig right through them, they're something else in the kpop scene. they cater mo to their fans rather than the general public, so they're motto is not really conforming to the trend.

I think the reason your video is being blocked a lot is because of falling flowers. Japanese songs have a very strict copyright policy, that's why most reactors tend to stay away from Japanese releases, or just upload them on their patreon. Hope that helps you in the future!
