You need to do their original, Love Again. It is a similar vibe, but harder and OMG Avi and Kevin kill it!!! It is Rave worthy!!! I have seen them do Daft Punk live in concert. They are so damn good! This came out in 2013, long before AI. They also won their first Grammy for the arrangement with "Daft Punk Medley". As others will tell you, the only member change has been Avi Kaplan, bass, with the beard. Avi left in 2017 after 6 years with PTX, for various reasons, and was replaced by Matt Sallee. Avi has since established a solo career, performing about 90% original music, and will be releasing his new EP later this week. He has quite a catalog so far, and there's not a so-so song to be found.

Didn't Avi also do a lot of the beatbox sound effects with kevin? I'm legally blind so when I watch a video I can't really tell whose mouth is moving but I always thought that Avi sang Bass and did some of the beatbox sounds

Avi had a career before PTX and just picked it back up after being unable to handle the massive tour/production rates of PTX while dealing with family health issues. And to realize the 5 members of the group are that good with each other just beyond words to describe.

@@secretarts I’m not sure what career before PTX you’re referring to. He’d been attending college and had been offered a position with the Los Angeles Opera, but instead chose to accept the job with PTX.

During his time in college, he joined the all-male a cappella group Fermata Nowhere.[9] In 2009, the group became the first community college act to win the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCAs).[10] During the finals, he won the award for "Best Rhythm Section", making him the first vocal bass to receive the award. @@secretarts Yes, I knew all of that, but it was all part of his college education in preparation for a career after graduation. He had planned on possibly becoming a choral director at some point, but the opportunity with PTX by way of Ben Bram’s recommendation to Scott came along to present that new career path.

Something great about this song is that it shows how well Avi and Kevin can work together to set a wicked beat while the rest are carrying the melody.

only one member has ever left. That was Avi. Touring was really hard on him, esp while his mom was sick. Everyone was heartbroken when he left, but it was all on good terms. The group understood. They looked for a new bass for a while before they found Matt. And that's it. They've done collabs but it's always been a core of 5 and only the bass has changed. There concerts are CRAZY!!!!, What you hear here is what you here there. Try their PopSpring 2016 where they do 4 originals live, it's crazy. Jams, "Sing" (also original") "EDM original "Love Again" Only 1 change in group history, the bearded bass left in 2017 , Matt Sallee is the current bass. Mitch is a Chameleon; Kirstie can be that way as well. Love these guys but I'm with you...Aliens.
