Yes Key, Karen was one of the best if not the best of her time and maybe all time. Never screeches, shouts or yells. Just raising and lowering her voice does it all. No theatrics. For your journey of discovery here are a couple of female artists that are from the same time as Karen that are beyond worthy to explore; Linda Ronstadt and Barbra Streisand. For Linda listen to “Alison” for Barbra try “Evergreen.” There are deep rabbit holes for both women and both are still with us, though Linda is not well and has stopped singing. For more Karen and the rabbit hole journey… I’m trying to remember my previous recommendations. If I’m repeating, we’ll then it’s awesome. Try this live performance from The Ed Sullivan Show. It’s 1970, Karen is 20, Carpenters just had their first #1 song earlier in the summer. They are performing in front of a bunch of veterans at an Army hospital in D.C. The show is a tribute to veterans special. The song is the Bacharach/David Medley. All the songs were huge hits for other artists in mostly the 60’s. There were quite a few female singers back in the day that were astounding singers. They put the singers if today to shame. They could actually sing and needed no studio enhancement.

I thought I'd leave a suggestion in case you're interested in checking out some other female artists from the same time period. "Janis Joplin - Ball & Chain - Monterey Pops" Hey Key be prepared to have your 🤯mind blown. This is some of the best blues-rock that you will ever hear.
