got to be honest, that part near the end where it got quiet and some kind of traditional song was playing, the old guy with the instrument, the little goat, the women and girls looking at the camera, it was a beautiful moment and i got teary. It was a really fresh contrast to the aggressive message, almost like: here is a reminder of the victims we are standing up for. Really liked it.

I started following you after your Nightwish reactions - never thought you'd react to something from my country (from my city). Pleasantly surprised! NOW, I'm gonna watch the video. 😝 Edit: I watched the video. I agree about the hip hop stuff - I don't think it's their strongest point. I often forward those bits. I think the blend of traditional Indian (Punjabi) sounds and traditional metal sounds is enough to give them something "unique". They shine in those parts and sound bloody (😉) awesome. If you want to check out more songs by them, I recommend Ari Ari. Cool if you don't. ✌🏾

They started off doing hard-core spoofs of Bollywood songs (which are mostly awful and treacle-y), and some of their satirical videos went viral, so they decided to get more serious. If you want to do another by them, this is their biggest youtube clip: kzread.info/dash/bejne/m2h606mJgrS9drA.html. If you want to continue the World Tour, a great one is Alien Weaponry "Kai Tangata": kzread.info/dash/bejne/Z5-rq81_Zq-sdMY.html

This has been a journey. Started off following you due to your really well thought out insights into Nightwish. Then got a laugh when you first saw Babymetal and started to fall in love with that band. Learnt some new bands from you, and now find you checking out a band from my country. I completely agree with you with regards to the Hip hop parts. Sometimes wonder if they're really influenced by Linkin Park, as the song structure seems similar in certain aspects too. Either way, really cool to see you give them a try :) Would also love it if you delved into Ayreon - The day the world breaks down. Dutch composer, who brings in various artists to perform concept albums, Prog style. The day the world breaks down is in essence the first song of the entire storyline (a prequel structure), with the album consisting of 11 well known singers. Good day right back at you!

I feel these guys are the spiritual successors to bands like Rage Against the Machine and System of a Down. Nu-metal with a message. Check out Gaddar (against corrupt politicians), BDSK (against sensationalist media) and Dana Dan (against the incipient rape culture that sadly exists in that part of the world). They've got songs about depression and mental health, and one of their first to hit the West, Ari Ari Ari, is just about tolerance in general. Fantastic band.

  • @DemonLordRaiden

Raoul, the rapper, is still relatively new to Bloodywood. He was a rapper beforehand and did a feature on Bloodywood's "Ari Ari". Then he featured on another track or two and they wanted him in the band. They haven't put out an album or even an EP together, though, so I figure a lot of that is just that they're still somewhat new together in terms of raw quantity of tracks produced. I figure they'll get better together in-time.

ARI ARI (the first original song they've released) and Jee Veerey (it's such a beautiful song with a beautiful message).... They're really a gulp of fresh air in the metal scene, along with other "ethnical" (if we can call it that) metal. They used to do only parodies of pop songs with a "indian twist"... And then they started to do original songs. Last year, they released ARI ARI and in the same year they went to WACKEN OPEN AIR. These guys NEED to be know worldwide. In the same "ethnical brand".... There's THE HU (you've already seen them), Alien Weaponry and if you want to try some REALLY heavy stuff, try Wardruna, Arkona (Masha my love

This reminds me of their live performance at Wacken 2019: Ari Ari kzread.info/dash/bejne/eKqpldeJfsy9fs4.html where you can see how they do live. It was an energetic crowd of several thousand people, surprisingly good sound considering they had only about 10-15 min of switchover time, really enjoyable gig. Plus, this song was announced on stage with the message "Diversity is a gift", which makes it even more relevant these days.

As far as tracks that really bring the feel of Bloodywood, I'd suggest Jee Verey, or Endurant. I absolutely love this band because even though the rap isn't always peak gold, the message is. The rapping is more spoken... no? It reminds me of an older style, maybe a more unpolished and street style? I'm not a rap fan so this is just an impression. I love the growling vocalist, great voice. I thought the slower breakdown part was using imagery to share the human experience from their part of the world. Kind of enhances the song's lyrical storytelling. The "Desi" experience? Love the image of the newborn lamb. Excellent instrumentation, great song.

I can understand your criticism of the rap parts as a fellow hip-hop fan, but if you look at Raouls solo stuff you'll see that he emphasizes message over complex flows, which in part is excused by his voice. I also belief that his lack of being a native speaker limits his variety in vocabulary, but at the same time to an international audience, that is also largely not native english speaking, this just makes the message of the lyrics shine even more.

totally check Jee Veerey, Raoul´s rapping is better on that one and is also a banger (in my opinion of course)

They don't need the rapper at all. I feel that if you want to have a rapper in your metal band, he needs to be the most talented guy in the group. Not a complimentary player, which this guy even falls short of. Now some rap and metal I can get behind would be DVSR - Unconscious: kzread.info/dash/bejne/oaCZzKh-k7rAgcY.html

TheZyzyzyzyzy off time simple rhymes with cliche statements are not good. The only thing he’s got going is his voice and aggression. Those work well with this group.

@@maximilianschultz8244 Ok. This song is not his best. Actually for me this is the weakest song from Bloodywood. I don't know why people chose to react to this song and not to their Jee Veeray or other songs which are much better. Nevertheless I like this song too. Not all songs are top hits. I like this one for the kick ass efect it has.

I swear watching your stuff I encounter bands I thought I'd never hear, pretty good sound from them! If you want to check out another band that somewhat combines rap and metal, Backwordz has a really sick sound. Rather politicially charged, but even without their message a solid band overall, here's a song! kzread.info/dash/bejne/e6VswZSbmq3XktI.html

It's a bit too "core", imo, but otherwise, really dope. I love the cultural vibes, I love the revolutionary vibes, it's solid af.

AFAIK they are virtually unheard of in India but exploded overseas with they videos. I believe most of it is self-shot, theres a very low budget. With many of the videos they explain about the video and its meaning afterwards too. As for the hiphop parts, i think those are fairly new. He was originally a guest performer on one of their tracks (Ari Ari iirc) and then kinda grew into the band, this was the weakest i've seen that element in my personal opinion

Oh, Chase... for once, I disagree with you. Strongly, actually. I never thought this day would come. I'm struggling to see how the rap sections are misplaced or off the mark. Perhaps it surprised you, or caught you off guard, but I was dismayed by how quickly you dismissed the rap portion. Raoul's lyrics and flow have become integral to Bloodywood's sound and message. You actually cut it off too early. They made the announcement just then that Raoul was officially made a member of the band. Before that, there was no rap. What he brought to the group was important enough for the other boys to completely change their musical style and structure to include Raoul. I like to describe them as sort of like Linkin Park or Rage Against the Machine, but with more curry. 🤘 LOL If you ever choose to try them again, try one of these links... It's healthy to disagree and discuss. Definitely going to dig deeper and listen to more. Hey look, I'm a big hip hop fan, but if I'm honest the lyrics, while powerful, we're not well delivered. I felt like it was the weakest part of the song. That being said I am completely on board to hear more and have my mind changed. Again this is simply my opinion and I've been very wrong before haha. I appreciate you saying this. And as always I appreciate the support.

@@ChaseCarneson Hm. Well, we agree to disagree on this one, then. Jayant from Bloodywood often stops by reaction channels, so don't be surprised if you see a message from him or someone in the band. Jayant is the growler/singer. Oh, and if you do watch one of their videos, always, ALWAYS watch to the end. Sometimes they post little bloopers, etc. More importantly, though, these guys are absolutely dedicated to positive social movements, and they put their money where their mouth is. So, some of the videos have some important social messages at the end. You'll see what I mean. 🤘
