First Time Organic No-till Soybeans. Episode #1

This is our first time trying no-till organics for our row crops. We hope to plant soybeans and roller crimp the rye this summer. Here's an introduction to the process. Will it work?
The rye was no-till seeded with a JD750 at the end of Sept, 2020. 2 Directions with a goal rate of about 180lbs/ac.

Good content. I'm interested to see how it develops. I'm a fellow farmer and no til enthusiast

No concern with rye allelopathy. That really only affects small seeded plants. N tie up can be an issue in corn though. Sorry that we didn't get any updates posted throughout the season. I had to get a new phone and videos and such haven't transferred well. The beans were planted late May, the rye was ready to roll mid June. The rye was really not thick enough for perfect weed control, but it did keep weeds down well enough that we didn't try to do any rescue cultivator passes. Yield was comparable to the field next to it that was full tillage. Both fields had low yield due to only 4 inches of rain from July - end of Sept. For our first time doing this we learned some things. Next year we will be trying a 4 way test with rolling vs tillage and drilled 7.5in vs planted 30in. I'll try to get some other videos up now that our harvest is done and things are slowing down.
