First time on an American Cruiser - 2022 Indian Scout Bobber review

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Awesome ride, and the best-looking cruiser on the market imho. Has some flaws though, this bobber had the incorrectly named comfort seat upgrade. The great price point for such a head turner, just spec it out a little different than this rental.

100% agree on seat relacment, but "heavy clutch", I'm nearly 70 dude, I think you need a few trips to the gym

i'm coming off a rs660 which requires no clutch, and street twin with lightest clutch ever. I did have a triple with poor clutch wire routing and was stiff as f*ck that shouldn't have been. The scout is heavy. not bad heavy, but enough to notice, and annoying in heavy traffic.

I hadn’t ridden in a year or so, but I don’t remember the other 2 scouts I’ve owned having such a long drawn out response on the clutch. When I first started riding, I’d let out on the clutch and the bike wouldn’t move till I’d let the clutch all the way out.

Nice video. As a Scout owner, I can agree with some of your points. You never say if you own the bike or not, so I am assuming this is just a ride to review the bike. My butt too is also only good for 80>90 miles before I need a break. Shock travel is 1" more on standard Scout, but not sure it helps. Seat on standard Scout also could be better, but a replacement does not guarantee that will resolve the issue. Personally, I feel where the Scout is priced, you are not going to get the same features as you would with a foreign brand. HD bikes have some of them, but it is also reflected in the base price. There is a Tachometer if you scroll though the different LCD screens in bottom of gauge, along with trip odo, voltmeter etc. I got mine as a retirement gift to myself. I had Harleys since the 70's but wanted something different. I do not tour anymore, so for me this was a happy medium. Look forward to next review.

congrats on retirement! great excuse to buy another bike. didn't know about the tach. it was a rental, not sure if the owner new about that either. loved the vibe of the bike, but yeah, definitely not going to tour on it. If i was jumping into a cruiser it would be hard decision between this and the triumph bobber. price on the scout def helps.

I have the rogue. With the forward controld and mini apes it's comfortable. Also upgraded the suspension and I can ride until I need to fuel up. It's got a 3 ¹/² gallon tank of you were wondering

I agree with the rear shocks being bad, but i think your butt has to be one of them dumptruck butts, I got the comfort + seat and it did WONDERS for my experience.

All I hear was complain about the bike, people surrounding, him and his surroundings in general. Jeez dude I understood where he was going. But when he started to complain about everything it cut the hype.

Great review thanks mate. I totally agree, the Bobber is one of the most uncomfortable bikes ever made, in standard configuration.

Do I like how it looks like the top of the tank was styled after the gas cap? Not really. However, it is timely. Ever notice how the back end of so many cars have the body style following a license plate? So many cars have the back end styled around the license plate. Why? Well, maybe that is the most attractive part of the new car, at least on the back end.

all, or most of the problems you mentioned with this bike would probably be fixed with the scout standard or even a chief. Those are more of a traditional cruiser style and riding feel. Much more tailored for comfortable long trips. The scout bobber is more of an aesthetics package for the scout classic, and not exactly a good bike for a first time cruiser rider. Check out Harleys lineup as well.

Isn't it something how looking at it, one might think it's a long stroke motor, but it's not.

When you see someone in that kind of riding position, you might want to say, "Oh boy, it looks like he's having fun." but maybe he isn't.

It sounds like that's not your style of bike, you want the bobber look but not wjat comes with it. Seat definitely needs replacing but other then that it's cherry. Isn't that half the fun and hobby is customizing your bike to what you want, have we gotten to the point where we expect perfection, never mind the price point cause it's a good price.

If you don't like passenger pegs,, why have a passenger seat. I agree with need to upgrade shocks and I'd add an upgraded exhaust. y Upgrades were Seat, exhaust, shocks, some leather bags and a short windshield,, total= Approximately $2k

it was a rental - was thinking about buying one. thanks for insight, I noticed the website has a lot of option to spec. Mine came out to 17k - which is still cheaper than a diavel.

What is with the engineering these days. Why short shock just to lower the seat height? It's a hack job. In fact, a guy could do better with getting longer shocks and then get out the hack saw to lower the seat, right? By the looks of the picture, a guy would have to mount the shocks more vertical where they are supposed to be and then get out the hack saw. Did they just mount the shocks like that to sort of suggest the form of a hardtail frame of 1/2 century past? Well, I could wonder what happens when function follows form, couldn't I?
