Woosung featured on a Agust D song, Snooze. So good!

Yep, two vocalists: Woosung is the leader and main singer (he was lead on Back to Me) and Dojoon (he was lead on Alive) but they both sang on both. I don't think you realized they changed out on Back to Me. The Rose are INCREDIBLE, so glad you've found them! I only discovered them recently through Woosung's showstopping feature on Agust D's "Snooze" and am now obsessed. I know what you mean about getting upset! I remember hitting my steering wheel listening to Heal the first time "WHY ARE THEY SO GOOD?!?!" Woosung has solo stuff too you should check out. You'd like "Phase Me". (And yes, he is VERY pretty.) Woosung's voice is incredibly unique but they're all good.

I was laughing when he said "this new guy" had a less unique sound than the "first guy who was the main singer in the first song" - I was llke "nope, that guy who is "normal" is also the guy he loved on the first song with the raspy voice that he said was amazing...lol. 😂

So glad you are checking out The Rose! Yea they are an amazing group with great vocals. Woosung is the "lead" vocalist while Dojoon is also a main vocalist in the band. Woosung is actually from LA and fluent in English. He has a solo EP called "Moth" that is all in English that he made when the other 3 members were off in their mandatory military service. It is more pop than rock but it is still absolutely amazing! He was also featured on the Agust D song Snooze! The Rose has a new Album coming out at the end of the month called Dual and fans are speculating that it might be mostly in English because the three singles Back To Me, Alive & Your Beautiful have been if you want to check that out when it releases as well!

I love The Rose! Woosung is raspy, growly voice. Dojoon is more pure. A lot of stuff is in English but some is in Korean. I saw an interview where Woosung says there isn't a plan on what is in English and what is in Korean. They just start writing and whatever feels right, they do. You should definitely check out Snooze by Agust D featuring Woosung on the hook. I think you were a bit confused on the singers because Woosung is far from basic. He has one of the most unique voices I've ever heard. Time live from Joshua Tree is one of my favorites and since you seemed to like the more rock, upbeat ones, you'd probably enjoy Candy and Sour. You're Beautiful is their newest song but will be slower and has a chill vibe. My favorites include Beauty and the Beast, Insomnia, Definition of Ugly Is, Childhood but those will all be slower and mixed English and Korean, if not all in Korean. Also, the official MV's will have subs but most won't so you will have to make the effort to look them up. They are a smaller band and just now starting to get recognized so I'm guessing that's why you don't find subs on a lot of their stuff. The Rose is so good omg!! I'm a die hard Skz fan and recently found The Rose with their Back To Me MV and was blown away! I went down the rabbit hole real quick!

A little insight into The Rose for anyone who doesn't know them yet. Woosung is from Los Angeles and Dojoon lived abroad in New Zealand for a while, which is why they make a lot of songs in English. They've stated that they first write the melody and then just choose the lyrics and langauge based on what fits best... so sometimes they are fully English, fully Korean, or a mixture of both - usually their older music under their Korean label is fully Korea while their indie work is more of a mixture. Jeahyeong and Hajoon have less experience with speaking English, however, they've really improved over the last year or so thanks to so many overseas activities. As for how the band came to be, Woosung sort of fell into the group when he randomly joined a singing competition in the US and was scouted. After moving to Korea, his drinking buddy (Dojoon) asked him to fill in for a gig where his band Windfall needed a second singer and despite no real desire to join a band he did. That was how they because the group they are now and afetr signing with a label to become The Rose, eventually filing a lawsuit to get out of their contract and the members serving in the military for 2 yrs, they came back with their HEAL album as independent artists. They write and produce all their own music and play all the instruments for their songs. They also cover a wide range of musical styles.

Love The Rose!!! Have you checked out the Japanese band One Ok Rock? I recommend Take What You Want, We Are and Stand Out Fit In. Lead singer Taka has a great voice as well. 😊

@hsnyn91 🤞for you. I am actually going to the last show in the US and I almost missed out as I only recently found them. I knew about Woosung from his solo work, but I didn't know about The Rose, and now I can't get enough of them.

I love The Rose. You should also check out Woosungs solo stuff. Would also recommend checking out "One OK Rock", if you want more rock suggestions. They are amazing, and their live concert videos are def worth checking out. "Take what you want" and "We are" from their Japan Dome Tour 2018 is so amazing.

I am so glad you checked out The Rose. The most underrated group in Korea, I swear. But what makes my heart warm is the love for Hajoon, the drummer!!! Yes, he's my bias, but so few people appreciate the drummer :)

The Rose is so good! Their discography is mix/mix of songs in Korean or full English. I think you would enjoy "Phase Me", it's one of Woosung's solo songs from his Moth album. The group is Woosung (Lead Vocal, Guitar), Dojoon (Main Vocal, Guitar, Keyboard), Jaehyeong (Base), and Hajoon (Drums)... But Jae and Hajoon also sing and do sub-vocals. They also have English names... Woosung "Sammy", Dojoon "Leo", Jaehyeong "Jeff", Hajoon "Dylan".

Yes!!!! The Rose!! I’m soooo glad you found The Rose!!! Woosung (the lead singer) is soooo talented and beautiful!! And his voice is the most unique voice I’ve ever heard and is soooo full with emotions!! I just love them sooooo much!!! They are amazing musicians, sorry its their debut song but know on their last albums the most of the song are just in english, i hope you still reacting to the rose, the album heal is amazing, every song have a deep meaning and the music and production are really good too!

The Rose is definitely worth checking more of their discography. I recommend other K-rock bands like ONEWE, Day6, N.Flying, Rolling Quartz (girl band), and Xdinary Heroes. Fun reaction!

The Rose are amazing!! My favorite song of theirs is She's In The Rain. You should definitely listen to Woosung's solo stuff if you get a chance! I'd also recommend checking out ONEWE (mostly soft rock), FTISLAND (soft & hard rock), Day6 (soft rock), Xdinary Heroes (mostly hard rock but has soft rock/ballads), LUCY (soft rock), N.Flying (mostly soft rock), L∅REN (soft & hard rock)

YOU DEFINITELY NEED TO CHECK Korean pop-rock band - DAY6. They`re amazing! They have a lot of different styles of music (some of the songs have anime vibe, some of them emotional, some have a retro style...) They have 4 lead vocalists!! Their vocal range is awesome! I`d advise you to start with: 1) "I Wait(아 왜)", 2) "Shoot Me", 3) "How Can I Say(어떻게 말해)" Honestly, it so hard to choose TOP 3 of their MV`s cos ALL THEIR SONGS ARE TOP OF THE TOP.

His Moth album is great. Also Snooze is incredible

Yeah, I don’t know how to break this to you, but there are actually 2 main vocalist in the Rose. That wasn’t just one guy singing, in all the songs they were taking turns. But the guy who sings first in Back To Me, his name is Woosung. He was born in Korea but grew up in California. He has a lot of solo music as well. If you are interested in that I recommend the songs Face, and Phase Me. He also sings to hook on Agust D’S song Snooze. As for song from the whole group, I love Sour, She’s In The Rain, Cure, Time, and Red.

Sorry is their debut track. It’s a great song but you can definitely see how they have evolved since then.

They sing in both, but their new album DUAL was just released. Its primarily English. The first two songs were from DUAL. My opinion is: that because they have become very international they will stick to primarily English. Their label Transparent Arts is an American based agency, and specializes in global artists. English just makes more sense because Korean is not as widely spoken or understood. Im sure they will still do some songs in Korean because three members are Korean citizens. Woosung is a US citizen.

The only two Korean groups I listen to are BTS and The Rose, so I was thrilled when I heard Snooze, Agust D’s song with Woosung featured. Please react to this song! Woosung is actually Korean-American.

In love with them since I heard Woosung with Suga. So fresh yet many old rock sounds that I love. It reminds me of so many groups from the 80´s. Love it. You are getting mixed between the 2 singers. You´ll get to differentiate theme better as you listen to more songs.

If you want a good rock band, you have to check out One Ok Rock because they are on another level. My favorite band ever. Saw them 3 months ago and it was the best concert I've ever been to. If you'll check them out, watch live performances cuz' their music is made to be heard live. We Are and Take What You Want (from japan dome tour), Cry Out and Mighty Long Fall (for more rock-iss sound), Wherever You Are and Renegades (piano ver).. etc.

For good bands you should check out onewe they are one of my ults and day six.

Sorry is their debute song. For the lyrics, they kind of go with the flow and what sounds better. Their latest songs are all in English, I don't know if this will be the case for the whole new album. The Rose doesn't like to fit in just one box, with their new album they are using a lot of different sounds to get out of the box (you got a taste of it in Alive with the drop)! I definitely recommand you to listen to "sour" I think you'll like it a lot :)

New sub here! May I suggest Sour and Childhood next please? I am obsessed with The Rose and I am also a fan of Dojoon and the bassist Jaehyeong. I saw them in concert last year and they are AMAZING live. I’m going back in November, driving 6 hours! Sorry was their debut, and they were with a really shitty company to start with. They were a little softer in their songs previou to Dojoon, Hajoon, and Jaehyeong went to military service. Their new company is American and Woosung grew up in California. Dojoon spent time in New Zealand.

He definitely got confused. It appears that he thought the lead singer was the same in the first and second song. I cringed so hard when he said basic, how embarrassing. He obviously doesn’t truly believe that as he was praising Woosung’s voice in Back To Me. Both Woosung and Dojoon have fantastic voices and neither could be described as basic.

Um… in Alive you were calling Woosung’s voice basic… he is the main singer for the rose. Not Dojoon. 😅 and his voice is what sets the rose apart. Not generic in the least

Dude that basic guy is the guy you said you liked during the first song 😅😅.. Woosungs voice is far from basic.... your also comparing their debut song(sorry) vs the two latest releases theres like a 7yrs difference, military service and a label change in-between... they make songs in whatever language fits the song..also Korea has a very really good rock bands.. rock music doesn't have to be in english to go great.. and not all KPOP is meaningless lyrics
