I think it’s bc jungkook is the main writer and main producer of “magic shop.” I’ve heard them speak about this song and where it came from like 5+ times and they have always promoted it as him writing and producing it every time themselves. So of course people are taking what the members themselves have said and reiterating that. There’s plenty of songs that vocal line members get left out of acknowledgment bc they’re not the main on them and it’s pretty common to note the main writer or producer if there is one.. bc some are more collaborations and others are mainly one person who takes critiques from others and in turn are noted in credits at the end bc they go by most contributions down to least. Jk is the main contribution for writing and producing it according to bts lol who am I to argue with them

Jungkook was the main producer and writer for magic shop. He made a beautiful masterpiece, he always does.

What always hits me the most is “No, I was here, you were the one who came to me” and “you found me, you recognised me.” A few years earlier they released a song called whalien 52 about feeling lonely - sending out their message and music and hearing no response - so hearing the way that changed when ARMY recognised them and reflected their message and words back to them always gets me emotional. The call and response “so show me” too! I’m glad you finally got to hear this and have it in your life, I know it comforts me when I’m feeling down 💜

@@kinetic3971 It truly is. However this is exactly why I love BTS. They sing about the human condition, sometimes with brutal honesty and we can all relate. Despite their fame and money when it comes down to it, they all know these feelings and experiences so when they sing to us they are also singing with us. They see us, we see them.

I always rather watch live performances of Magic Shop than just listen to the recorded version of the song because I feel armys singing along is what really completes this song :D I definitely cried too when I watched it with lyrics for the first time!

Jungkook said in the press conference about Magic Shop: “I wrote this song for our fans. Since it’s a fan song, it didn’t really feel like working but it’s a song that contains how I feel and how I love our fans. There were some things that RM hyung said during concert. He said “ if it’s you who found us and Acknowledged us, you can do it too” I started this song based on these words. It’s a song that tells, if you are tired and weary from reality, you open the door inside your mind and there will be Magic Shop and inside of it, there will be 7 of us who’ll give that strength for you. I wrote this to dedicate to our fans. It would make us very happy if a lot of people gain strength and be comforted through our song. For me the first time I listened to Spring Day my eyes were watery even though I didn’t know what the song was about and hadn’t seen the lyrics yet but the first time I listened to this live video of Magic Shop and read the lyrics I bawled and I kept bawling bcuz I relate to this song 100%. I have always thought I was a waste of space. And thought that my family would be much better off w/o me in their lives. And I thought that way bcuz I’m the “Black Sheep” of the family. No one gets me. And most the time I’m shrugged off when I’m trying to get them to understand me. Anyway Ive always had suicide thoughts. I don’t love/like myself. I never thought that I was worth anybody’s time. And even though I don’t have as many suicidal thoughts as I used too, I still struggle to this day with trying to love/like myself. And I’m young so I guess I still have time to figure it out but idk it just feels like I never will.

I love magic shop! Magic show and mikrokosmos are ones I listen to before bed to send myself out in such a nice way. Jungkook wrote it for army

Jungkook about “Magic Shop”, the song he produced that was meant to bring comfort to ARMYs. “When ARMY are tired, emotionally exhausted or having a rough time, they can draw a door within their hearts and come inside, and we are there.”

Magic Shop is the ultimate comfort song. They did a skit based on it at the fifth Muster where Jungkook is feeling down and goes to the Magic Shop where the owner is Jimin who tries to solve his problems by sending JK into see the different members who come up with various ideas to cheer him up but none of them work until they have a brainwave and give him the shoes he wore right back at the beginning of his career. It's funny and sweet and touching.

I have a minor correction. “Love is not over“ is the first song, where JK had a major role in songwriting and production. He is credited as a producer and songwriter for this song and also listed first for both. He is even credited for the keyboard, chorus and vocal arrangement for that song.

Oh…dear, i can totally relate to you. When my little girl was around 2years, i was so low…and had lowest self esteem and self believe. I was nobody, then i met BTS , the. After blast of tears with Magic shop and Ephifany, it helped me to realized (or remembered) that I am The beautiful shining person in and out. Then i tired to figured out who i was and i found myself back.

This song has gotten me through many difficult times and situations. Jungkook wrote this song for ARMY. This is one of my favorite songs. 💜 Jungkook was the main writer and producer on this song. RM, J Hope, and SUGA, also have writing credits on it.

oh lex!!! this is the first BTS song that i fell in love with. This song has a special place in my heart. The lyrics “i found you when i was at the edge of the cliff” strucks me hard because i was in one of my darkest moments in my life when i first found them. And reading the lyrics was such a comfort and still is a comfort for me to this day. ㅠㅠㅠㅠ

This song is special on so many levels!!! It's beautiful, the lyrics are heartfelt and amazing, and it's a beautiful gift to Army from our Jungkookie as his musician skills grow. I love that the lyrics mention "opening the door" since the BTS and Army logos are symbolic of doors. When I'm feeling down, it gives me a visual meditation of opening the door and finding the comfort of the 7 within. 🥰💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

That part about the standards for yourself always hit hard because I'm always asking myself that if I can forgive someone for something or accept them for their flaws, why do I believe I don't deserve that same standard? Like think about, what makes us believe we're so special that we deserve this much hate and unforgiveness???

@@Ayesha-ps5ze I think it's a matter of responsibility and of who's in charge of improving. usually, you're not responsible for others' flaws nor for improving them or not even able to do so. thus, high standards can't be met. but of course you feel responsible for your own flaws and improving and thus set higher standards than for others.

Yet how is that an excuse for us to treat ourselves worse than how we treat others? Sometimes we have to take ourselves out of our own heads and think of ourselves as a human being first.

for me the " You give me the best of you, so you give you the best of you..." lyric hits REALLY hard. It is hard to give myself the love I give BTS but I'll try for them.

"So happy, but so sad". This is what we call catharsis. This song, along with Epiphany, Zero O'clock and Answer: Love Myself are the ultimate catharsis for me. They allow me to acknowledge my pain and then realize that I will be ok as long as I hang on and don't give up. Having people you think of as "perfect" or flawless say that they often feel like giving up, too, somehow makes hanging on easier.

I rarely listen to this and don’t cry. I’ve ne we felt so seen and loved. A song about not saying “everything will be ok” just let’s give you a comfort and warm tea and a place of respite. The chorus is we showed them our love and the best of how hard we worked and love BTS and now they ask us to show ourselves the same love we show them “you showed me the best of me now show you the best of you”. Love and comfort in song form. We too feel victimized by BTS, Borahae. 💜

Love myself and epiphany too

This song will forever hold a special place in my heart. During my depression and burn-out when everything around me felt like it was falling apart, I felt so much comfort in BTS. I eventually got back up mostly by myself (BTS's lyrics supported me) and with help of a therapist and then as I was still healing from a past trauma, I heard and listened to this song and I could relate so much. It comforted me big time and I played it a lot. Now I have finished therapy and I'm all okay again and whenever I hear the song I feel so proud how I got out and am enjoying life again. It's my go to comfort song along with Mikrokosmos.

It is so soothing. I cry whenever I listen to it. Bts is very much my magic shop. I go to them every day and their words wash away some of the hurt and confusion. I cannot find the right words to express how grateful I will forever be to them.

I feel jungkook has less song but.. All are such a masterpiece and my fav.. U know.. When rapline. Produce songs. The amount of songs are large.. In number so the footfall is more.. There are songs which are okk ,which are amazing.. ,Which are unbelievable ,not good being 0 but jungkooks every song is A rated to me.. Note : personal preference

BTS finds you when you need them. I was sitting on my sofa watching "Nature" reruns on PBS and waiting to die (I really am very old) when I saw them on SNL a few years ago and woke up the next morning to a bright new sunny day. Now I make YT videos... (a wonderful hobby btw), and I've found a lot of solace in their music. "Life Goes On" is my favorite but "Magic Shop" is a close second. This has always been a special song for me but originally I loved this song but never knew the lyrics. Then one day I was watching a live performance that had the lyrics and I was so moved that Magic Shop immediately moved to my second favourite song of all time. Every bit gets to me. I remember the first time I heard it so vividly and a lot of my significant early memories with BTS relate to this song. So glad you reacted to this and loved it.

Jungkook is the main writer and producer of “magic shop.” It’s cute how proud the other members are when talking about it and how they boost jk about this clarification bc the rap line also contributed to the lyrics.. but every time they talk about magic shop they always refer to it as written and produced mainly by him. Anyone who knows jungkook and his style of creating music and lyrics can feel his style all over this. He loves the call and response parts to do live, it’s got that kinda edm vibe to it but with very clear gorgeous melody … but regardless of who wrote and produced it, I think it’s clear that it represents very real feelings that apply to each and every member of this group… and army. Jungkook amazes me bc I’m any song he has been a main songwriter or main producer on , he rarely if ever has the standout or more highlight parts… he gives himself so little compared to others and especially the highlight parts… it’s never him who takes these parts. It can be very easy for ppl who do less writing and producing to take on a lot of the song themself just bc it’s their vision and it just turns out that way… but I’ve noticed it’s the opposite with him and I think that’s beautiful and really shows how much respect and appreciation he has for this entire group … they’re 7 beams of light in a world overrun by darkness sometimes it feels… I’m just thankful they found me when I needed them the most… it’s a crazy feeling imo 💜

This song makes me cry every time I read the lyrics… I think the most beautiful thing about it is that they’re basically saying “ when you’re feeling down, remember that you found us, gave us love, believed in us, and created magic for us and if you’re capable of doing that for us, you’re capable of doing it for yourself… So show me“ and then we respond with I’ll show you, BTS is basically imploring us to believe in ourselves in the most beautiful way, and I think that’s what this song means to me, it reminds me that I’m capable of loving myself like I love them and that is so profound. Jungkook is my bias and knowing that he wrote that is also just really lovely.
