Since you're going through a country music phase, I wanted to recommend that you watch the Ken Burns documentary on country music. I grew up listening to country music in the 70s 80s and 90s. (I'm not a fan of 99% of the new stuff. I actually like Hootie AKA Darius Rucker, even though he does country now.) I wanted to recommend to you, to watch a Ken Burns documentary on country music, it aired on PBS. It's FANTASTIC! It's one of the songs that's often overlooked. It's also one of the first songs, I heard growing up, that was country and sang by a black man. The Ken Burns documentary talks about how a lot of country music has roots in black culture. That was something I did not know. My favorite male country music artist is hands down George Strait. I have seen him in concert twice. He sounds just as good in person as he does on the radio. He's not a flashy performer, he's just a good singing cowboy (I say that because he actually has a ranch in Texas.) Also watch Pure Country if you haven't already. 😁 Also, if you get the chance to see Willie Nelson in concert DEFINITELY DO IT. He literally doesn’t have a live song that isn’t mind blowing. Cold, Whiskey and You ( CMA my favorite) and even does a James Brown cover- Its a Man’s World. He just doesn’t miss.

Country is like rock and roll in the 50's through mid 70's, you have to actually be able to sing. They also tour more than any other genre, so singing well live is required by the artist and the fans a like. That is why auto tune doesn't make much cash off of country.

Chris is one of the best vocals ever.....the man could literally sing a phone book and it would be amazing! Another singer that I have fallen in love with is Jelly Roll....would love for you to react to "Need A Favor". Always love your reactions....you also have a great voice

First time listening to you and great voice yourself as well... but listen you have to listen to Chris doing the cover of the legionary James Brown's "It's a man's man's man's world". Chris was in audience watching a band The Shadowboxers live and was asked to come up and sing a song. Don't remember if audience picked it or he did, anyway he smashed it. No rehearsal or anything and that made it a thousand times better. It's gonna blow your mind!

Would love to see your reaction to Stay by Sugarland. Her voice is simply something otherworldly....

I agree that it's a beautiful song, Adam, and working off that theme of country singers putting their soul into their music: you should know that woman singing with him just happens to be his very own wife, making his words to her even more poignant! Hehe.

Oh man, let me take you down a Chris rabbit hole. Check out the Chris/Justin Timberlake medley with this song. Next Chris and Justin again with Say Something. Make sure its the 6 minute video. It was shot in ONE TAKE LIVE. Mind blowing. Then take on Sometimes I Cry Either Way And for fun check out his Bluegrass band, The Steeldrivers and If It Hadnt Been For Love The man could sing me the phone book. Im also extremely lucky to get to see him live every year. Its an experience everyone should have!
