You should listen to blackpink's 'shutdown' live at Coachella and also to the 'dudu du du remix' live at Tokyo Dome. You would hear Jennie's raps in these. Actually even though they are both great rappers Lisa is the lead rapper of the group which basically translates to 2nd best rapper while jennie is the main rapper which means the best rapper in the group but the reason why jennie doesn't rap as much is because she is also a lead singer of the group so she has to sing too.

The idea that Jennie was ever ranked higher than Lisa for rapping was fake news made up by dishonest people who spammed up social media in 2016 with a fake "official" position ranking list. You need to check out what YG actually announced about group roles in the 2016 Blackpink Debut Showcase. For Lisa, her main/primary roles were announced literally as "Rap/Dance" (in exactly that order). For Jennie, her main/primary roles were announced as "Vocals/Rap" (in exactly that order). Nothing else was ever announced or stated by YG. Jennie was never ranked higher than Lisa. Lisa was never labeled as only "2nd best". But she's had to deal with that fake label for years because so many gullible people go everywhere repeating the fake position rankings, while ignorantly thinking that they must be true because they see it repeated so much. I heard the position rankings repeated and decided to track down when and where they were officially announced by YG. Turns out that they NEVER were. They started out as rumors and fake "official" lists that dishonest fans posted everywhere (similar to what some are doing with BabyMonster now). Some dumb Kpop "information" sites (made by fans), like Kprofiles just copied what they saw on social media and have admitted that the main/lead/sub position rankings were NEVER confirmed by YG or Blackpink.

You are completely right about Lisa always stealing the show. That girl has so much swag and stage presence it’s crazy. People say Jennie is the Ace of blackpink but I’d say Lisa is also Ace. Jennie and Lisa bring the swag and charisma, Rose brings the vocals and Jisoo brings the Visual and personality. Jisoo is also the best at harmonizing. This is what makes blackpink so powerful and popular, it’s because all four girls are so unique and they all bring something to the table. It’s like a puzzle, they fit together perfectly but at the same time if you remove one piece (girl) it doesn’t seem whole. Although most people say Jisoo is the least talented out of the group and that may be true, but her voice, visual, personality is so unique that there is no one like her. No we don't need to "teach him" that. It's fake and silly. Just because many Kpop fans are obsessed with and mindlessly repeat fake position rankings everywhere doesn't make them true. YG literally NEVER announced any "main" (number 1) or "lead" (number 2) rankings. In the 2016 official debut showcase for Blackpink, YG ONLY announced special roles for the members. For Lisa her special roles were announced as "Rap/Dance" (exactly like that and in that order). For Jennie, her special roles were announced as "Vocals/Rap" (exactly like that and in that order). Lisa was NEVER ranked lower in the rapping role. Jennie was always supposed to "sing more". It's not just because she changed her mind or something. Lisa was always supposed to be mainly rapping in the group. Some dishonest fans repeated fake "official position ranking lists" everywhere on social media and too many Kpop fans (who constantly obsess over ranking lists) mindlessly believed they were real...and the rest is history...a history of fake news being believed by too many people. You can like or prefer whomever you like or prefer. But it has always been grossly unfair to Lisa to be stuck with the "number 2" label...when she was never ranked lower than anyone else. (Beware of the dishonest people who are doing the same thing to BabyMonster now, going around repeating fake position-ranking lists and insisting that they are "official". Jennie is the Main rapper and Lisa is the Lead rapper. It is true that Lisa has been rapping more for these past few years Jennie said that she wanted to sing more herself but Jennie has more skills into that direction. Jennie will also release her Album this year where she will most likely show more of her potential because their potential was limited when they were under YGE and now thankfully each and everyone of them has their own label. That's not true at all. It's based on fake news that was repeated so much that it became a pseudo-"fact". YG NEVER announced anything about Jennie being "Main rapper" and Lisa being only "Lead rapper". YG NEVER said that Jennie ranked higher than Lisa. In 2016 at the official debut showcase, YG announced the members' specialty roles in the group. For Lisa: "Rap/Dance". For Jennie: "Vocals/Rap". That's all. No ranking at all. And for Lisa, "Rap" was listed first. For Jennie, "Vocals" was listed first. From the beginning, the discography has reflected this. But some dishonest fans in 2016 spammed a fake "official position ranking list" all over social media and many gullible Kpop fans just mindlessly repeated it without ever checking to see if YG EVER confirmed it. Hint: YG never confirmed it and for the past 7 years nothing supporting the fake list could ever be found on any official YG site or in any YG statement. It's been very unfair to Lisa, TBH. She was never a lower-ranking or "only second-best" in the group. But even in the dozens of times when her parts have been the highlight and most popular part in BP songs, she always has to deal with the "what about main rapper Jennie" crowd.

Yes, Lisa typically gives the best rap performance, EXCEPT in DDu Du DDu Du, Tokyo Dome Encore Remix version or the 2020 Coachella version. I am a Lisa bias, but I dare you to see these and not come away thinking Jennie gave the best overall rap performance of that night. Double Dare You. Before Lisa's recent rap in Typa Girl, IMO Jennie gave the best Blackpink rap performance in any song in those performances and earned her title of Main Rapper. Anyway, we are fortunate to have two awesome rappers with great stage presence in Blackpink. And most rankings I have seen rank Lisa as number one and Jennie in the top 5 female Kpop rappers. But the person who made them who they are is Teddy Park, their sole producer who created all of their group and solo songs.

It's subjective. People are free to prefer whatever rap style they prefer. The whole "main" (number 1) versus "lead" (number 2) thing was always fake news. It never came from the group or from the company (YG). It just got spammed everywhere by a few dishonest people and then repeated everywhere by gullible people. (The same thing is being done to BabyMonster now, as some dishonest fans are going all over posting fake position ranking lists and pretending that they are "official".) Jennie's DDDD rap was a really good fast rap. That's pretty much the main thing the "main rapper Jennie" crowd has pointed to over and over and over during the past several years as "proof" that she's the "best". It's not really like Lisa couldn't have done that. She's done super fast rapping in "The Girls". Lisa's rapping has consistently been one of the most popular highlights of multiple songs, even when both of them rapped in the same song. A lot of people would rate Lisa's raps on "Love to Hate Me" and "Crazy Over You" and several other songs higher than Jennie's DDDD (which is mainly famous just for being fast). But it's a matter of taste so there's no point in pretending that there's some scientific right answer and wrong answer. I thought it was funny in Pink Venom when the very easy triple time for "up in the sky" (a 4-syllable phrase in an otherwise very monotone rap delivery) was "oohed and aaahed" about by the "Jennie is main rapper for a reason" crowd as though it was something that Lisa could never do...which was obviously not true in the slightest. My position is that they're both good and fun to listen to. But the fake "only lead rapper" (number 2) label that people have unfairly stuck on Lisa has always bugged me, so I feel the need to point out the relevant facts.

But as we know, all pinks are talented with rapping, vocal, dancing and visual. They are best when they are together and they are great when they do their solo. And before you even try unlike the vocal or dance positon which has clear qualifactions, the rapping position isn't as easy to rank it's even harder in groups where the rappers are great like bts, bigbang the gap between the rappers isn't huge but it's accepted that one of them is the main while the other is the lead. During their debut the clips released for jennie were rap based while for lisa it was dance based, you really think in a four member group lisa will have 2 main positions while jennie will have none. During their live perfs jennie has better breath control she rarely relies on backtrack even though she has a lot of vocal parts, from debut she has always outdone her studio rap. LIsa and Jennie have very different rap styles, lisa is swaggy and stylized (iggy azalea, and CL, soyeon), while jennie is aggressive and fast, so this translates to lisa sounding better and standing out in their studio versions while jennie sounds subdued and monotonous, but during their live perfs jennie brings in energy, attitude and aggression which makes her better live. Whether it was said out loud or not, by simple logic each Blackpink member has a main and a lead role, there is no need for semantics and playing dumb. In the end they're the best kpop rap duo and their different styles compliment and highlight each other.

The whole thing about Jennie being the number 1 rapper ("main") and Lisa being the number 2 ("lead")....is and always has been fake news. Nothing like that was ever announced by the group or by their label (YG). What really happened was when the group held their official debut showcase in August 2016, YG's only statement about roles/specialties in the group was as follows: Jisoo -- Vocals ; Jennie -- Vocals/Rap; Rose -- Vocals ; Lisa -- RAP/DANCE. It was stated in exactly that order. Nothing else has ever been said by YG about it. Nobody in the group has ever said that Jennie ranks higher than Lisa for rapping. It was never the case that Jennie was ranked higher than Lisa as a rapper. (If anything, the fact that "rap" was listed second for her may indicate that it was her secondary role. Plus she is also on record saying that she preferred singing and did not particularly want to mainly do rapping.) What happened in 2016 is that some people spammed a fake "official" position ranking list all over social media, a lot of gullible people believed it (including some dumb Kpop fan sites that pretend to provide people with information about everything in Kpop)...and since then the fake news just got repeated so much that a lot of Kpop fans can't believe it when you tell them it's fake...and they refuse to actually go back and look at what YG actually said. Who cares? How is Jennie the main singer. Jisoo and rosé are obviously the singers. Jennie is the perfect in between. Amazing voice and can rap like crazy. I was only commenting based on what he said. Lisa does way more rapping. Prove me wrong. Lisa also has a great singing voice. I just hate all you people putting titles to things. jennie queen she looked SO good, always the main event

Honestly, it's incredibly funny seeing every Jennie bias justifying her position in the group. The truth of he matter is, when the group debuted the company assigned her the position of Main Rapper. Over the years, though, Lisa has overtaken her as she is more versatile (Jennie is good but is basically a "machine-gun" rapper, it's a one-trick pony but effective when used sparingly.) Lisa can rap both slowly and quickly which proves to be more useful. They're both very good, but the YG positions of "MAIN" and "LEAD" in regard to rapping have become irrelevant, but Jennie biases will scream out her official positions, as if letting the reactor know makes a difference in how they view her.
