First Time in UBUD BALI: Tegallalang Rice Terrace, Temples, Monkey Forest 🇮🇩 Indonesia Travel Vlog
In this Indonesia Travel Vlog we FINALLY MADE IT TO BALI! 🎉🎉While Carles had been to Bali before, it was my first time ever visiting Bali! We decided to start our week in Bali in Ubud. We had a hotel right next to the Ubud Palace so when we left we tried to stop by the palace on the way to breakfast....unfortunately it was closed! We went next door to the Saraswati Temple and it was perfect! We arrived early enough that there was no one else there! We could walk around the temple and take pictures just as everyone else was arriving. Then it was time for our first brunch in Bali! We headed to the Lazy Cats Cafe. They had yogurt granola bowls and avocado toast - two of our favorites! It was definitely our favorite cafe in Ubud! After breakfast we needed to rent a motorbike to get around the rest of Ubud, Bali. We found a place on the street renting bikes.....and we only made it 30 seconds up the road when the mirror fell off the bike! We were able to turn around and give them the mirror before we continued on our trip without any more issues. Our first stop was the famous Tegallalang Rice Terraces (Ceking Rice Terrace). We were surprised that it wasn't super busy at 10am!! We were able to walk around the rice terraces and see all the famous Bali picture spots without tons of people! I wasn't aware that all the swings had different prices. The first Bali swing quoted us 250,000 Rp...then later we found one that dropped the price to 100,000 Rp! It was actually pretty fun flying over the rice terraces AND they have dresses there for you to wear!
After the rice terraces we drove to the Candi Tebing Gunung Kawi and we concluded that it's the best temple in Bali! We actually bought sarongs there when we parked our bike, however you can rent them for free at the temple entrance. Candi Tebing Gunung Kawi is such a cool temple because it's all carved directly into the rocks! We'd never seen a temple like it before! Unfortunately you go down about 300 stairs to get to the temple so it is a workout when you leave! After there we went to the famous Holy Water Temple (Tirta Empul). It was SO BUSY! At this temple you can change into a special green dress to wear into the water. There were lines of people waiting to bathe in the holy water. While the bathing ritual seems like an amazing experience, I felt that it loses its meaning when there are SO many foreigners waiting to do it.. We decided not to this time, however if we return to Bali and the Holy Water Temple isn't as busy we would love to participate!
When we left Tirta Empul we were very hungry. Luckily there was a really cute vegan restaurant right at the entrance to the temple. We went there and had some of the best Indonesian food ever!!! We tried tahu isi for the first time and also had vegan nasi goreng and mie goreng. Everything we had here was AMAZING! Our last stop of the day was the Monkey Forest. It's the most famous place in Bali to see monkeys and take the 'Monkey Selfie' picture. We were surprised that EVERYONE was taking monkey selfies! We were also amazed by how many baby monkeys we saw! And we were lucky enough to see a Balinese performance of the story of Lubdhaka. It was such an amazing first day in Bali!

Aww thank you ❤️❤️ yes, our visa in Indonesia was only 2 months so we tried to do AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE 😅🤣 it was amazing and we saw so much, but also tiring, especially while still having to work! And we still have to come back because there are so many places on our Indonesia bucket list still (including Raja Ampat) 😍😍😍❤️

Wow.. you are in Bali. Ok, you need to find Bali's Babi Guling, and Crackling Pork. You should try them. I tried Souphoria and Karya Rebo. Ask them to put their sambal matah on separate plate. Both of them are spicy, although Souphoria is too mild for my taste. but you can eat them without their sambal. There are also Warung Babi Guling if you are a little bit adventurous, and they are secluded. I tried somewhere at Canggu, and it was good, but I had to go at 5am If I want to get a bite at it. And it is spicier than Karya Rebo. I think Karya Rebo has been tailored to accept tourists, while this one is not. So it is more tailored toward Indonesian which love spicy food. They also has Lawar which is vegetables mix, like Gado Gado in Java, but it is balinese style.

Hope u guys enjoy the beach club at canggu, and the beach at seminyak and kuta . Dont fortget go to kintamani, thers a lot of cafe at kintamani open at 6 in the morning if u lucky u can catch the sunrise and cloud while having breakfast and mountain view

Do rafting at Ayung River Ubud (bali rafting adventure) .... u ll gonna love it 😁 ... for food go to Pasar Ikan Kedonganan (u'll buy the fresh fish in the market and go to the resto to cook it) ... for beach, Melasti beach is a good one with white sand (better than Kuta) ... For show, Tari Kecak Uluwatu is a must see ..😁

Hmmm... .🤔🤔 This really surprised me to know that there are tourists who are skeptical about Bali Bali is our primadonna.... Many foreigners know/ hear more about Bali than Indonesia bali is a beautiful island. famous for tourists. but there the prices are already more expensive following the standards of foreign tourists.

I think that’s why I was skeptical about Bali BECAUSE so many foreigners talk about it 🤦♀️ usually I don’t like places that are so touristy.. I was more excited for Sulawesi than I was Bali 😅Luckily I really liked Ubud! Although I can’t really say the same about Canggu 😬❤️

Yes of course! 😍 we need to go back to Thailand and back to Indonesia and there are so many more countries to visit! 😍😍😍
It took two weeks to go around the island of Bali and other islands around it 😀

Yeah, a week later if you have time you can go around to Nusa Penida Broken Beach, Pink Beach Lombok, Labuan Bajo Komodo Island and Flores Island😎

Noooo, my parents are on east coast USA so it’s the complete opposite (9am = 9pm) 😱 Carles parents would be sleeping at that time though. It’s so confusing to keep track of 😅🤣 Also Carles is lucky - I’m SO good with directions! Even better than him if I say so myself 😜🤣❤️❤️
This is funny, to see Charles tries so hard to make Nathalie impressed with Bali. And I do kinda hate this place too, I dunno how but I feel like it was overrated with the price and all. But, to be honest, Bali is looking so beautiful. I guess Bali is just like our highschool girlfriend, she got the beauty, and the name, but she lack something we don't know what. And now as we broke up with her, we kinda missed her. Am I right?

In my opinion, lack something about Bali is the " Chaos and unpleasant " i.e lack of proper pedestrian and public transport; traffic jam : small road, too many motorcycle; plastic garbage problem. If those problems fixed and managed with western country standard, there are not many place can beat Bali as tourism and holiday destination.

🤣🤣 that’s a funny analogy! But yes, Carles loves Bali!! I actually really liked Ubud! Although I wasn’t really a fan of Canggu 😬🤷♀️❤️
saya sudah melihat banyak video vlogger luar negeri di bali, tapi ada sesuatu yang mengganjal buat saya.. yaitu dari sekian banyak video vlogger luar yg menampilkan bali, kenapa hampir gak ada yg memvideokan pertunjukan tari kecak yang diikuti puluhan atau ratusan orang dengan atraksi sembur apinya di malam hari di pinggir pantai bali? apakah tari kecak hanya di adakan pada acara2 khusus saja dan bukan bagian pertunjukan untuk menghibur turis?
