Is there a device exist or if someone can make one; to control outdoor unit, regardless of what displays on a split 1.5ton AC unit. Basically kids are kids, I tried all my level best but still they manage to keep thermostat on 16, caused heavy energy bills. I want to stop this cat and mouse chase. I would like to set or fix the outdoor unit thermostat so the compressor/fan run on (for example) 26, however, kids are under the impression the ac is set at 16. Any help on this matter will be highly appreciated!

You can use simple dual time delay relay with a DPDT relay, and you can set it to change every 24 hours so that equal days are used on each meter However In my opinion you can safely connect output of both meters in parallel and the billing will be approximately equal, depending in internal resistance of meters. Half current will flow from one meter and half current from other meter

@@AdminAsim do your own research then try it. Make sure input of both meters is coming from same wire so that phase is same. And then connect outputs together making sure that Neutral to neutral and Phase to Phase Meter inside is just directly connected to output You will not have any electrical issue The issue which you might have is that these new digital meters might have a sensor which senses such kind of connection and then your electricity supply company might not charge bill on NORM mode. Do your own research then try it

@@AdminAsim if both meters are identical then bill would be same in both meters. Bill would not be double which is a concern of people. Half current would flow from one meter and half from other meter. If meters are not identical then bill can be abit different in both. But total units will be same which you actually consume
