Welcome to Makassar, Sulawesi, Indonesia. Makassar is a large port city on the island of Sulawesi in Indonesia. This is the beginning of our Sulawesi series here in Makassar. We will be spending a few days exploring Makassar and eating local food with local people. Then, we head off to explore what Sulawesi has to offer us. Welcome to the capital of the province where I am a relative, maybe many foreigners are afraid to go to Makassar either because of the news or something else, try to feel the vibe of the people who might be more excited, don't forget to try eating Makassar coto, konro soup, green banana and kikil soup, if you like If you want to see the forest and it's cool, it's close to Makassar. You can visit Malino, Gowa Regency. If you want to see beach tourism and Phinisi boat building, you can go to Bulukumba Regency or Bira Beach.

Come to North Sumatra, here there are many historical tours from war relics, and also natural tourism, especially Lake Toba, the result of a volcanic eruption thousands of years ago which killed thousands of people at that time. Here it is very, very friendly for tourists

If you travel to Sumatra right now, especially West Sumatra, you will be shocked by the completely different season there. Torrential rain is everyday.

Beautiful and organic experience. I've traveled to Indonesia dozens of time's and married 👰 in 2012 in Jakarta the same year. The cost of living is night and day, compared to California lol.

you mention Pangeran Diponegoro. he was basically the kicker of Independence movement snowball all the way up from 1830 to 1945. it's a long history though. Fun Fact: during five years of Diponegoro war against VOC (Verenigde Oostindische Compagn). he manage to make VOC spent alot for war fund, around 20 million Gulden, which is roughly similar to VOC's 10 years revenue. because of that, in Holland occured revolutions at one part of the country that cannot be solve by the kingdom of Holland, so.. that one part became Belgium.
After eksplore makasar, i sugest you have to visit tana toroja.. Its still in sulawesi . Tana toraja is the most place to keep the culture of sulawesi island.. You can be suprize when you hear there people live with the dead person..

You should look for clothes with a picture of the map of Indonesia on the back😍
Konro especially in makassar mostly use beef or buffalo, it's not rare but you need more effort to search food stall/restaurant using horse ribs. But if you go to jeneponto, you can easly find horse meat cuisine since horse product is jeneponto speciality, and there is too restaurant using venison but not for conro, but it's rare to see restaurant using venison nowdays in makassar and jeneponto...
