First Time I Cheated in Business (10 Years Later I Went to Federal Prison)

When I was in federal prison, my case manager suggested that I had previously cheated or broken the law. It was something she said to everyone.
For learning purposes I I address the first time I cheated after graduating USC in 1997. The story proves how cheating is very much a slippery slope.

Thank you for this. I’m going to send it to my wife. We had a conversation similar to this last night where I told her that every decision you make also has an ethical decision to make. There’s a lot of pressure to look like someone you’re not in those industries You’re a kind man to instill advice learn from your own mistakes. It takes courage And humility as well

That's a tough -- but worthy -- path you're recommending. We are presented with opportunity to compromise, every day, all day long. I'm not thinking specifically about illegal acts but choosing mindfully to do what's right in one's life and in relationships is maybe the most demanding commitment one can make.

@@dabiz4272 I’m black and slow so you’re going to have to help me understand. What is a legal grift? Ethically what is wrong with paying for a service for someone. As long as it’s a real person and the service is actually provided? It’s actually smart. Just a loophole

@@CrazyEyes1 🤣 Ha ha! The dealership was part of a group, and I own one of the cheaper brands (Mazda). I was just in for... Well, honestly, it was a "C.P.O. Inspection"- - which seemed like a fraud/rip-off. $87 later (I needed new wipers blades for their sales department to want to consider purchasing my leased vehicle?) I lived and learned. The car wash was done 😉 very well though.

Was buying the plans for the potential clients really cheating? I would have thought that was a brilliant tactic to gain more business outside of something stipulating otherwise.

I think the point is the mini lies you tell yourself lead to crossing the line at one point and once you do that, it's difficult to come back. Taking a $5 bribe could lead to taking $100k kickback one day that will definitely land you in jail lol.

This is bull crap, you didn’t cheat the first time you just decided to look at it that way instead of looking at it that you were giving 3 people a gift and the $10,000 is your reward. Law of attraction, YOU looked at things a certain way , you brought it on to yourself. So don’t tell others what they should do, not everyone is yiu.
