Love Xandria, delain, also as u know epica, Nightwish plus

This Dutch lady, soprano Dianne van Giersbergen is one of the few in the scene who can call herself a real classical singer, graduated in 2012 with a master in classical singing. She can do the real opera stuff too like Puccini, Beethoven, Shubert etc. She doesn't need a mic when using that opera voice. Dianne joined Xandria in 2013 and left in 2017 after recording 2 studio albums. That band already had 4 singers. But Dianne van Giersbergen already fronted a band before Xandria, that was more or less put on a hold during her Xandria years. But that band Exlibris is back in full swing with Dianne..So i would highly recommend to dive into Exlibris. They released an album in 2019 about 3 historical figures, all called Anne. 1. Ann Boleyn 2.Anastasia Romanov .3. Anne Frank listen to The Courtship, The Motherland and The Diary to start with..It's more opera style than Xandria though.

Yes! Exlibris are something else! I would even say on another level for sure

Great band, Dianne is a beast, has a powerfull voice. I love her. You can react to A prophecy of worlds to fall, Xandria's too, an epic epic song with Manuella Kraller on vocals, AMAZING!

All their albums are fantastic and different. I love the most two with Dianne but older ones are also awsome. Try "Theatre of Dimmensions" and "Betrayal". Two huge songs with Dianne.

Such a great voice Diana has, band shot themselves in foot losing her. Have a tradition of losing their female singers.

Manuela Kraller was their best singer for me, i especially love "The Dream is still alive" and "Forevermore". They sounded so much like old Nightwish in the time when i lost interest in Nightwish. For whatever reason however it seems no singer can really stay long with this band, and Manuela was only on one album. I think Diane, who sings on this song, is also already not with them anymore.

For other cool bands I am going to suggest: -Full moon by Sonata Arctica (I can´t listen to this song with wanting to watch some werewolf movies right after) -Arms of the ocean by Blackbriar (Not metal but will feed your hunger for some fantasy) -Nothing else matters by Apocalyptica (This band rocks with cellos and sometimes uses guest vocalist) -Angels by Within Temptation (Older stuff is more symphonic. Lately synths and science fiction are more their main influence) -In the shadows by Beyond the black -Avalanche by Cellar Darling (Hurdy-gurdy. What else do we need?) -Ategnatos by Eluveitie (Time for some folk metal?) -Yuve Yuve Yu by The Hu (Mongolian folk rock) -Senbonzakura by Wagakki band (Band combines traditional Japanese instruments with more modern style music. Cool live shows too.) -Bismarck by Sabaton (Power metal band and loves history. Music videos for education and live ones for some epic fun time) -Du Hast by Rammstein (Live version is always a must) These are all just my ideas for an introductions for these bands. Feel free to try other songs if more suggestions drop in.

A lot of beautiful things come from the Netherlands (my motherland)! I saw that you haven't discovered Within Temptation yet? Also a symphonic metal band with Sharon van Adel as the singer. One of the best in the genre! Try "Supernova", "The Reckoning feat. Jacoby Shaddix" or the more recent "The Purge". They often collaborate with other artists, such as in "Paradise (What About Us?) Ft. Tarja" (Yes, the old singer of Nightwish) and the song "And We Run ft. Xzibit". The golden old songs "Mother Earth" and "Ice Queen" are also worth listening to. (these are the songs that made me listen to them in the early years).

If you'd like a curve ball from the symphonic metal scene check out *Within Temptation - And we run.* Yet another Dutch soprano (one of "The big four") It features the legendary X-zibit. And it's a really good song.

Call of the wind from Neverworld´s end album is one of my faves.

As much as I love Dianne operatic voice, i prefer Xandria with their first singer Lisa Middelhauve. They got their own distinctive sound back then. My favourite is 'Save My Life'.

I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to saw them live once here in Argentina. Dianne is such a great singer...solid classical technique... the general comment is that obviously the rest of the group has a problem with the singers. the last three were displaced on bad terms.

Xandria is good but they don't treat their singers very well. The lovely lady in this video had some mental health issues and the band members did not help. Lisa Middelhauve (nee Schaphaus) resigned on April 30, 2008 citing personal reasons and discomfort in being the band's frontwoman. The band found a new singer in February 2009, Kerstin Bischof. However, after just one year Kerstin Bischof decided to leave the band. Dutch "Ex Libris" singer Dianne van Giersbergen is the one in this video. On Sept 13 2017 she left the band due to having received pressure to perform from Xandria's management and the band while being physically unable to, giving her stress confirmed by doctors. Two days later on September 15, 2017, ex-vocalist Manuela Kraller shared a message to the public on her Facebook page, revealing that her reason to leave four years earlier was exactly the same one. She praised Dianne for having the courage to be open about the situation to the public, which she didn't dare to at the time, but now finally did.

Wow wow wow HC Thank you so much for doing this underrated band they are amazing, sadly there aint any live performances that are better than the studio stuff, the 3 best albums are Theatre or dimensions Sacrificium Neverworlds end Lots of amazing songs in thosr Xandria albums Manuella the singer has another band called ex libris and there music is very theatrical might want to check them out Also for more operatic vocals and metal try Leaves eyes Diabulus in musica ❤️

Dianne sorry getting my singers mixed up!

Xandria is a good band but not really on par with the heavy hitters of the Symphonic metal scene. This song however is probably as close as they got imo. If a "Top 50 greatest hits" was released for symphonic metal, this is the one song from Xandria I'd expect to find on that list. Alot of it also hinges on Diana's voice. She is the best singer they ever had by a mile and a half (imo). For full transparency, as you can tell Im not a super fan so I havnt hear *all* of their songs but I've heard quite a bit. It *is* possible (tho unlikely) I've missed some absolute banger though I've been in the scene for decades and if there was a Xandria song equal or better than this one I feel like it would've been very hard to miss. If there is an actual superfan in this comment section who think there is, I absolutely want you to tell me. This particular song I *really* like and if there is more like it, I do not wanna be without it. 🤣
