I had the pleasure of seeing Third Day in concert many years ago. I appreciate this type of music because it helps bring younger generations to seek out spiritual guidance, and there is definitely an abundance of people who are suffering and need that in their lives

Sometimes we are just lost. Looking for direction from the darkness we are fighting. Not knowing where to go and which direction to go. He's crying out from his soul to God for guidance. I'm there right now. Just exhausted from all the pain.

I've been listening to Christian music since the mid-90s, ther are many, many great songs, extremely catchy songs great Tunes, 'The Newsboys' and 'DC Talk', are two of the best Christian rock bands in my opinion.

As a Christian rock band that started in the 70's, we always appreciate & don't take it for granted when someone takes classic Christian rock respectfully. "Well done" to YOU😊

Dug the tune and your reaction to it. The only other Third Day song I've ever heard is "Soul on Fire." Man, I was HOOKED on that (hook of a ) song for a while back in the day! Very bouncy uplifting vibe! I need to check out some other stuff by this band. Though, for better or for worse, no one will see me react to it, haha!

As someone who grew up on Christian rock in the 90s... I have so many thoughts lol. I actually saw Third Day in concert waaaay back in 1998. The whole point of Christian rock, imo, is to produce music that has the same themes and messages as mainstream Christian music, except without the stereotypical sound of it... basically so much mainstream Christian sounds exactly the same, as it has for about 40 years, lol. Bands like Third Day prove you can have Christian music that doesn't suck. So why there isn't more of it is beyond me. Admittedly, I haven't bothered trying to listen to Christian music in about 15 years, so maybe there's better music mainstream now... but my impression has been it's actually a bit worse than it used to be lmao. I haven't listened to Switchfoot in a hot minute either, but they definitely had some catchy songs a while back. I don't mean to be super negative about this particular genre of music... but imo there aren't a lot of bands/groups that can appeal to a non-church crowd. Third Day generally has a great sound/vibe, and I love Mac Powell's voice, but he does tend to sing in that same tone a lot, I think. As for the message of this song, I think the key line is the last of the bridge "let me follow your lead it's the only way I can get back home." Home in this case almost certainly means Jesus/faith. The singer has tried to go it (or live life) on his own, but realizes he can only find true contentment by depending on Jesus. Or something kinda like that lol. A very common theme in Christian music, since that's basically the main idea of the Bible lol

I enjoyed the music. The only complaint I have is the music was louder than the lyrics. Thanks for your reaction.

Sometimes you get that with live performances. If you listen to the studio version, the vocals are much more predominant. kzread.info/dash/bejne/eHmimZazgJTNnLQ.html

Hey man. I just saw your channel and subscribed when I saw your reaction to Revelation by Third Day. You mentioned you would like to see what other tones Mac Powell (Lead singer) brings to the table. Have a look at the song "Thief". Same smokey, passionate voice starting out low and slow as he tells the story and then knocking it out of the park with emotional volume.

Love their sound and his voice. I'm not really into Christian music that much, although I'm definitely not against it, I just don't know that much. My experience with it is mainly from the 2005-2009 timeframe, which this song falls in. Also really like Slow Fade by Casting Crowns, a few songs by mercyme, and a few more that I can't remember their names. I did really like their positive message, especially when you're having a hard time in your life. That reminds me, Cry out to Jesus by these guys is really good too.

It's called "musical diversity." If I can listen to and appreciate Zeppelin and Pink Floyd, why can't you appreciate Third Day? Just because it's labeled "Christian music?" Lyrically, he could be calling out to his dad for advice. Neither Jesus ,or God is even mentioned. Do you like Black Sabbath? Even Ozzy has lines like, "Oh no, no, Please God help me!" In the song "Black Sabbath. " He's crying out to God for help against the "Figure in black" that was pointing at him. Is Black Sabbath "Christian" music? It's so sad that you're so closed minded that you would write off good music just because of its label. Even sadder that you refuse to believe in a God that created you, and wants to save you from a place, designed only for satan, called hell.
