A little about me and this channel:
My name is James Aubrey IV and I just recently graduated college from Iowa State University. After college I decided to take a leap of faith. So I moved to San Diego California to pursue my passion for videography/ KZread. Overall I'm a pretty chill person, outside of KZread I like to longboard, dance, play video games, lift weights and hangout with my friends. I know that success on KZread won't happen overnight but I'm willing to stay patient and put in the work to try to prefect my craft daily. This KZread channel will be centered around my life after college. You will be able to see all of the ups and downs on my journey to success. So if you like the content make sure you subscribe so you can be apart of the Rome Life Family. (Let's build our own personal Rome's together.)
What is the Rome Life ? And What does it mean to be apart of it?
Rome Life is something I started during my Sophomore year of high school (one of the worst times in my life) it started off as me documenting my journey to recovery from my shoulder surgery but eventually it turned into a platform that I could use to encourage myself as well as others to chase our dreams.
Rome Life isn't just a saying it's a way of life and for the people who want to be apart of it have to realize that. Rome wasn't built in a day it took a lot of handwork time and most importantly patience. So you can't expect your dreams to be any different
This is a reaction video used to educated and give my feedback on the song and artist

Hi James, you mentioned the background vocals. The reason they stood out to you is because, the genius of The Rolling Stones - beyond the fact that they're amazing musicians and showman - but the one thing they do better than any other Rock 'n' Roll band, is they knew how to find the perfect hook for the song. They knew how to find these genius little riffs that hook you and draw you right into the song. For example In the song "Satisfaction" - the hook is in that guitar riff - and in "Sympathy For the Devil" they put it in the background vocals.

The shaking sound is probably the maracas or alfuche cabasa. The working title of this song was "Who killed Kennedy" by the time it got to the studio it was called "The face of man" before ending on Sympathy for the Devil. Mick claims its about the evil within all of us.

The problem isn't the "version" of the song. You seem to react more to the video than the song sometimes, and a lot of the stuff out there is fandom edits. This is about as official and original as it gets, studio album. Look for an album cover or a lyrics video would be my suggestion. Like Queen, it is possible that the Stones had a bad studio album. And the sun might rise in the west.

There's a video of this song with creative lyrics that are just as startling as the song itself. This song is also what led parents and religious types to thing The Rolling Stones were satan worshippers, an image that bothered Mick Jagger, and what prompted him to write the song "Dancing With Mr. Dr.". The4 lyrics are very profound.

You're totally right. The fact they only used piano and percussion, bass and lead guitar without any production trick of the 70's makes it traveling through time without damage

This song is especially relevant today as we go through a very volatile time, a message that can be addressed to a certain socio-political party of the last couple years and the events that are a result of.

Re the "Hoo-Hoo" - From Wikipedia: "The backing "who who-woo-woo' vocals, which helped to make the song's sound stand out, came about by accident thanks to Jimmy Miller and Anita Pallenberg. Pallenberg was in the engineering booth with Miller while Jagger was belting out an early vocal take of the song. According to Pallenberg, Miller was half talking to himself as Jagger sang, saying stuff like "Come on Mick, give it your all, who are you singing about? - Who, who?" He then repeated "Who who" several times after that as Jagger sang on, and Pallenberg realized how wonderful that all sounded. After the take, she told Jagger what transpired in the booth and suggested that "who who" be used in the song as a backing vocal chant. The Stones then gave it a go and after the first take, 'Who who" became "woo-woo". . . "

The instruments with the shaking sound are maracas(a rattle type instrument). Another group that uses them in their music is The Monkees. I was lucky to be born in 1963 and although my parents and grandparents hated and forbade rock music in their homes, there were radios with all kinds of music everywhere else. I love the rock sounds of the 50s,60s,70s,80s and 90s especially but even a lot of the 21st artists and music varieties are awesome too. I even love the " pre- rock" sound of "Swing Music"( circa 1930s - early 1950s...and especially love Louis Jordan's music. The band music song " In The Mood" would be considered in "Swing style"). Music is universal and timeless. I would suggest an awesome group called Playing For Change(PFC). They promote music education/appreciation and world peace by choosing one song and having singers, dancers, musicians around the world play it together. It's been a thing for about 20 years now but is still mind blowing to witness and I highly recommend them. They also help other non profit organizations that work to house the homeless, feed the hungry, work to end poverty, etc. With love from Maine, USA 💕💕💕💕 🖖👍👍👍

The Rolling Stones are such a foundational band - they took bits and pieces of Rhythm and Blues, Rock and Roll, Little of this and Little of that and make all their own - No Other Band Sounds like the Rolling Stones. When the Record comes on you instantly know it's the Rolling Stones - few other bands have achieved that. So unique and so vibrant and so much energy is in their songs. I think the instrument you heard was a tambourine - it looks like a small drum what think little metal discs on the side - it makes a sort of a jingling sound and has a bit of percussion when your hand strikes it. A lot of 60s bands and mostly lead singers used it as an accent instrument. Harmonica is also an accent instrument. You know the drums, guitar, keys are all primary instruments that carry the load but bringing in accent instruments like the Tambourine or the Harmonica really can add a unique sound and punch when brought in the right places in a song. Great review as always keep up the great work!

Mick wrote this after reading “The Master and Margarita”, where the Devil (in disguise) goes to St Petersburg(?) and gives people what they deserve. A scene is set with Pilate making the decision about Jesus.

It IS on the radio now! At least in the UK on general music stations as opposed to stations that are for a specific music style. The Rolling Stones, Beatles, The Supremes, Louis Armstrong, ELO, Santanna and so so many more never go out of style here on the radio and can be heard right after music of this millenium or even this decade. Even the MTV generation were exposed to wide range of music rather than just latest or just (e.g.) Country & Western.
