Angelina is one of the finest human beings on the planet.

This is one of her most phenomenal performance. How she could so much emotion into this heart breaking song at 10 years old is hard to believe. She is a true artist and beyond compare

What do I think about it? It's my favorite song by Angelina Jordan and she is only 10 YEARS OLD here! That final run with each note in the run performed to perfection is miraculous for a 10 yo. Done as a demo so she had the freedom to choose to perform this any way she wanted and it is pure perfection!

She has the voice you like to listen to over and over.And over.

This girl's versatility is the most amazing thing about her. She commands excellence in so many different genres but when you apply her ability to convey soul and jazz in a ballad, perfection is always achieved. This would have been a #1 song but her mom didn't like one line about a drowning - suicide and wouldn't allow her to release it.

Ten years old. 10. The maturity of the delivery-especially as you mentioned, the measured timing of the phrasing. It’s what you expect-no, I’ll take that back-it’s what you’d hope for from a singer with years and years of experience with this style. This song is a favorite of hard-core Angelina fans, even though it doesn’t get played as often as some others. Despite the rumored history of this song being held back because of the dark reference to suicide, I think Angelina could record and release this again now. She has taken on many mature themes in her catalog of songs. And, she might as well release her version because she has killed this song for anyone else. Just a spectacular musical, vocal, emotional tour de force.

Matt, this is the amazing performance that we almost didn’t hear. I am so happy that someone ended up posting it under whatever circumstances. No, she doesn’t sound like a little kid, but she didn’t with Feeling Good either. She started out of the gate very strong and became very sophisticated very quickly. This song was a real pivot from her other 10 year old productions, and many people have said it is one of their favorites. Me included. Other than a few duds, Angelina has blessed us with over 140 fantastic experiences. Thank God for Angelina Jordan Astar!

This song is so loved by so many people. Makes one think how this could hit the charts running. Maybe it will be redone and included on a future album. Fine work Matt and I appreciate your honesty when you say that you don't like every thing she does. This is not about being a "Homer" but rather, giving an honest reaction and opinion. Having said all this, I will say that there are many of Angelina's songs which takes a couple listenings before I begin to like them a lot.

I adore this. I believe it may be my favorite of all .. but then there's My Funny Valentine .. oh my .. Angelina about 10 or so .. just sitting on a small sofa .. no mic .. just singing directly to me, to you. Totally gets my heart .. totally. And the black and white It's a Man's World with the Oslo Military Band .. powerful .. deeply and shockingly powerful .. I sit after I hear it each time and at some point after it finishes, I have to remind myself to breathe. There is an interesting story behind this recording. It was not supposed to be released, but was leaked by unknown person, perhaps a sound recording engineer. The video was made about two years later by a fan. Anyway, it is considered to be one of Angelina's best. And, she was not yet 11 years old! Angelina is the original singer on this. She just had the music and lyrics to go by for the arrangement. About one month after Angelina recorded this, the original songwriter released a version of his own, but not anywhere near as good as Angelina's. He said that he never heard her version...

Actually Baby FuzZ released his video of the song one month after a "third party" LEAKED this video (11/2018 &12/2018). Angelina recorded this soundtrack in 2016.

God only knows how much we love the covers she has done and all of her work from ages 6 through 13 should never be forgotten. There were some real masterpieces in there. But, we also have to realize that Angelina's originals will inevitably be what puts her over the top in the years to come.

Wasn't that amazing? She was 10 when she recorded it. There is a long complex story behind how this song came about and various misconceptions around it. You will get that story from many of the comments that follow this one. On another note, I can tell you are a true jazz musician. You did your whole video without mentioning the lipstick marks on your cheeks. I love that professional musician's humor!

Surprised it took you so long to get to this one Matt, it's a real classic, a sure hit, however you want to put it. Too bad her family vowed to never release it.

Mozart is famous for saying "Music is not in the notes but the spaces between them." Angelina reminds me of Mozart, he could listen to a song and instantly come up with an improvement. AJ does the exact same thing. Its uncanny. This is one of my favorite songs by her.

Jazz experts refer to that space she is leaving as "negative space". Something a lot of jazz singers do. A lot of pop singers fill that with runs/riffs, and that's fine, but negative space or pausing lets the listener fill the void. Lets you embrace the emotions of the music and lyrics. Angelina is a master of restraint and negative space; she never goes to fast. She was 10 (almost 11), when this demo was "leaked" almost two years after she recorded it. Some have hypothesized that she didn't release it herself because her family objected to the suicide implication at the end. But there is no evidence of that being true. Actually, it was never hers to release because the composer (Brandon Lowery aka Baby Fuzz) and copyright owner had never released his version, or okayed any other. His version was released almost a month after this was leaked. When he heard the leaked video he had the authority to have it removed, but he liked it so much the left it up. After all, it's his song, and he new just how good Angelina's version is. For me, and many of her fans, it's one of the Best things she's ever done. I thought about what she did at 11 with Egil Classen, then at 12 with Ivan Mendez, then at 13... and on and on. Just couldn't say where I would end up. Thankfully, we don't have to make that choice.

Nice song, IS NOW, it is a cover of a song by baby fuzz, listen to this, and listen to the original, but for the words you wouldn’t know it’s the same song, as with so much of her work with covers she unmistakably puts her stamp on it.

For some reason best known to herself, or her maniacal father, she has just released a cover of Adele's Easy on Me, which was available within six hours of Adele releasing the track herself. Not much breathing space there! If she was just a teenager mucking about in her bedroom, that would be one thing; but she is a teenager with a label and management, so why she is trying to muscle in on another artist's moment is beyond me. The result is not a happy one. By now I have an allergic reaction to her voice, which to me just sounds affected and contrived. No doubt she has musical facility, but I think she has been forced to do stuff far too early on in her career by her parents, and 'Easy on Me' is a glaring example of this habit. It's ironic, given the lyrics: "So go easy on me/ I was just a child/ Didn't get the chance to/ Choose, what I chose to do." That would be the most honest thing she has ever sung, but unfortunately she screws it up. The people who manage and guide her ought to be ashamed, because what they have done is exploitative and abusive. Give it another 10 years, and she'll be the next Britney Spears, or Michael Jackson. Kids need to be allowed to be kids, and not thrown into the jaws of America's Got Talent and all those shitty talent shows that will do anything for ratings. Her fans might come after me for this but before they do, they should ask themselves why she should be any different to other child stars, such as the ones I have mentioned? And, above all, why are they objecting to someone being concerned for the welfare of a minor?

We fans of Angelina mention our concerns on a regular basis. Your point is well taken and I for one appreciate your concern! We trust Angelina and her family. They refuse to let her be promoted until finishing her schooling. Also have turned down many offers from major labels including Disney. Sara her mother turned away offers to preform nearly 85 percent in her early years after Norways got talent at 8 years old. Also most of her early concerts where charity events.

Apparently, you know nothing about her family or life. She has always been the driving force in her career. Her mother and uncle sometimes try to hold her back. The reason she isn't out there in a big way is because her family wants her to grow up and finish school. That is the deal with Republic. You need to do a little research before trashing her family. She's damned lucky they look out for her. The song "Shield" was written for her mother, thanking her for always protecting her. BTW, her "Maniacal father" is the only family who isn't involved in her career. She was offered a huge amount of money at 8 yrs old to sign a deal. She said she wasn't ready for that. If they were anything like you describe, they would have taken the tens of millions of dollars and thrown her to the sharks. If you have allergies, maybe you should stay away. Maybe it's you who needs to wise up.
