Tevin Campbell was getting called the male Whitney Houston back then. His vocals were unmatched by many. It’s a shame that the people around him in the industry mismanaged his career and basically ruined what could have been. Not to mention he was the voice of Powerline in A Goofy Movie 😎.

Know this is a late response, but IMHO, the 90s was the end of writers of romantic lyrics such as Babyface. There were so many songs with beautiful content starting in the 50s, Motown in the 60s through early 80s. Love is eternal and that's why love songs resonate with each new generation.😊

Or possibly they have to select according to licensing of video vs audio. Maybe some official videos allow them to use the copyrighted material. But maybe sometimes they have to locate the song without the official video to avoid infringement. Perhaps it's actually very well researched.

Tevin was so underated, he had the most stunning and soulful voice. He's was in a league of his own. You should check out the rest of his album his vocal range was amazing, but also do a review on Tevin Campbells 'Look what we had'. It has that 80's vibe!

I sang with him in a talent show in Mt. Pleasant, Tx before he hit it big. He sang an Anita Baker song and I sang a Whitney Houston song. If course he tore the stage up. If I’d only known.💜

When he did the song he was younger than the cover of that album. He was a teenager. Dude had a powerful voice and great producers behind him....Quincy Jones, Prince, Babyface.

So happy they FINALLY got to Tevin. Now you know why he was a star back in the day - thanks in large part to Prince (RIP). The boy's 'chuch' vocal talent was unrivaled. Wish he was still out here. Would have loved if he and Brian McKnight could have found a track to sing on together. (Y'all should watch the video that went with this song as well. Less serious faces involved.)

*squeals happily* I'm so happy y'all are reacting to this because "Can We Talk?" has been my song by Tevin since I was a kid and now that I'm 34 years old I still love it.

This was the jam back in my day, slow dancing at the clubs‼️💯❤️

He was known as the male version of Whitney Houston, he was older on that album cover he was around 14 years old when he recorded this and he looked like he was 14.

This is one of my all time favorites. I have to listen to it back to back!!

He was like 12 or 13 when he recorded this so the photo on the cover is an older photo of him. if you watch the video, he is and looks much younger and the voice matches wht he looks like.

Nah he was like 15 when he recorded it, and I think the album was released when he was 16. By then he couldn't sing high notes like he did in "Tell Me What You Want Me To Do" (which he sang around 12/13). The album cover shown in this video is him as an adult (since it's like a "Greatest Hits" album). The original album cover shows him as a 16yo

Tevin has some legendary R&B songs. Here are some of my favorites: “I’m Ready”, “Always in My Heart”, Back to the World” and “Shh”.

Yesssss!!! Tevin Campbell!!! You can play this song anytime and people will start singing their hearts out. Its one of those “timeless” bangers.

Yesss this was the roller rink song. This is like your first crush song. Definitely listen to tevin Campbell’s song I’m ready it has a music video. I wannna say Tevin is like 12 or 13 when he did this song he was a teen singer

Tevin Campbell's fourth album, titled simply "Tevin Campbell" [1999] was actually his best album though it didn't get noticed that much. It was produced my Quincy Jones and the whole CD was great. After that CD, Tevin dropped off the radar.....

I'm so sad y'all didn't watch the video!!! Do another reaction with the video. It's so sweet and one of my favorites form the 90's! Love you Twins!!

Tevin Campbell has vocal range!! Listen to that velvety smooth vocal quality. This song is a classic! He was a very young when he sang that song. They had to "age him up" on the cover! It worked!

Loved seeing Tevin years ago in Prince's movie Graffiti Bridge singing Round and Round..that song is fire! Great reaction Guys...Peace & be wild!
