Live and learn, there have been so many songs that I've heard a 1000 times and then on 1001 I understand something a bit more.

Leaving a abusive relationship is harder that quitting drinking, smoking, gambling.. one of the biggest reasons, is the person being abused believes it’s there fault.. add in all the mental abuse. I’ve known many that did finally leave, sad thing is, must find the same type of relationship again.. like a sick cycle..

Actually, the song is in a major key (F sharp) and it sounds very happy if you don't listen to the lyrics.

Luka was a kid being abused by his Dad. He had no option, Suzzane was inspired by Lou Reed's Berlin album to write this one and I can see parallels with Dirty Boulevard.
