Yeah this was at a time when my friends and i have liked a lot of rap songs. This album from snoop was one of it. Sometimes after a weekend full of rockmusic and other things we woke up on a sunday morning with a hangover and started the day with some smooth and chilling west coast sounds

West coast G Funk hip hop is usually chill. Check out Dr Dre, MC Eiht, Warren G, DOC, etc too. Used lots of funk, synths, bass, etc. We who grew up on the west coast are chill and laid back, you hear it in the accent, slang (Shiznit, hella, da bomb, hyphy, endo , playa hater, cutty, post up, the left coast, chronic sack, homie, NorCal, SoCal, gyeah!, dank, dude, mayne,, etc) and vocal singing and rapping too. lol. Lot of songs and hip hop, too had messages about safe sex. '90s we were coming off the AIDS and STD epidemic from the '80s that carried into the '90s. So, there was that fear and warning. We had lots of house parties like the video back in the days also!

I’ve got another dumb story. 😁 I always wondered what Indo was. As in: I have never heard of this Indonesian weed, it must be some fire shit. Being a jam band following Wook, I was very well versed in the kind bud of the 90’s but never bothered to run down this apparently new strain of nugs and forgot about it after the song faded out of style. Flash forward to several years later and I was working in a restaurant. The light switch by the back door in the kitchen had labels taped below the switches: Indo and Outdo. It was like one of those giant cartoon light bulbs suddenly popped on over my head. 😂

Iconic video. Such a great flow to that song, and as such a smooth beat. Enjoyed your "safe sex" comment. Facts! Back it that time, it was just part of the culture - sex ed in school, "if you have sex, you die", commercials, "if you have sex, you die", radio spots, "if you have sex, you die", the news, "someone had sex, and they died". Almost surprised there were future generations. Also, a bit of added trivia - Both DJ Quick (Snoop Dogg's cousin) and Warren G (Dre's step-brother) can be spotted at the party. Before either got famous. But both had amazing albums that you should check out. "Quick is the Name" hasn't ever left my playlist since it came out, and I used to sing Warren G's "Regulate" to my now 29 year old daughter to get her to sleep as a lullaby (probably not the best lyrics for an infant, but Nate Dogg's vocals are just too smooth).
