It's so satisfying watching people fall in love with this band. They're so intoxicating in their lyrics and musicianship. Just out of this world. On top of that - I randomly found myself clicking with your style of reaction very quickly so it was an easy subscribe from me. I appreciate that when you do stop the music you get straight to the point and move on.. but if you do feel the need to articulate your thoughts a bit more you'll do it with a purpose. I think this album could be *that* album for me. The one I point to forever from here on out. It's shaping up to be a masterpiece in my eyes.

Sleep Token are amazing! My wife hates metal aswell, but I sneak some Sleep Token in when we're in the car. Metal-hating-wife suggestions would be songs like Atlantic, Dark Signs, Higher, High Water, Descending. They do the drops so perfectly. They have some heavier songs aswell, like Gods, The Offering, Hypnosis etc but all in all, no song is like the other one. My personal favourite Sleep Token song is Sugar.

Sugar was one of my lesser listened to songs by Sleep Token. But every time I listen it grows on me more and more. It is becoming one of my favorites now. That drop is so good.

@@patrickrattan8904 Yeah I have the completely same experience with alot of their songs. Their heavy songs hooked me into checking them out more, but the slower pace/heavy drop songs are just out of this world!

I wish I could listen to them for the first time again. I adore them! 🖤

for me i really loved the summoning at first, and was iffy on chokehold. but after awhile, chokehold REALLY grew on me. these were the first songs i heard by them, and you definitely wont regret looking into their discography as i did. vessels (the vocalist) voice is amazing. they have some calmer songs that really show off vessels voice and some heavier ones too. if you want heavy, you should check out "Gods" by them. for something calmer that shows off his voice and your girlfriend would probably like, you should listen to "blood sport" from their performance from the room below. their music is all so beautiful, happy you're enjoying them so far and hope you continue to enjoy them :))

Love them so much! Saw them live last September and they do not disappoint. Definitely check out more from them. They just don’t miss for me.

I played this, my wife also hates my heavier stuff. I saw her moving her foot to the song which is something she hardly does when I have my music on the tv. Fist time for me hearing this track was when I already listen to their prior stuff and just randomly hit this song for my power nap, can I say how beautiful it was even my dreams were pleasant.

Loved your reaction on this, it's obvious how much you enjoyed both of these songs! I've seen Sleep Token live twice now and they blew me away. Excited to see them again soon!

My wife is not a huge metal fan but every once in a while she’ll like the heaviest song in a group’s catalog like Spiritbox - Holy Roller and Void of Vision - Gothika. She’ll be like, “I like this one.” And I’m like “Really?? What about Circle With Me? That one’s softer.” Snd she says “Nah. I like Holy Roller.” Mind you, she’s into stuff like The Weeknd and Bruno Mars. But, like you, I usually let her play her music in the car but she would have those two songs (and a few others) in her playlist so that’s good enough for me.

Thanks man! I just listened to Vore and god damn.... I'll admit the softer songs I've covered didn't grip me like The Summoning did but Vore dude ooof that's a ripper!

My wife is the same way. Big into country and pop.

Here's the thing. I discovered Sleep Token a couple of years ago and was instantly hooked. I have been listening to music for as long as I can remember and I rarely don't have music playing no matter what I'm doing. However, I am nearly 43 and have not been as obsessed with a band the same way I am with these guys since I was a teenager. They may possibly be my favourite band but it feels wrong to say after only a couple of years whereas some bands I've been listening to for 30. They are gonna be huge and I highly recommend checking them out. They are not really a heavy band, they just have heavy moments so i would encourage you to play them for your partner. Blood Sport (room below version), The Love You Want, The Way That You Were... all beautiful songs, NOT metal. Their music is so varied and ethereal, their song crafting and technical ability is astounding. I am seeing them live for the first time with my son tomorrow and I have not been this excited for a gig in years.

It was amazing! My eldest said it was the best gig they'd been to. I also caught a drumstick! I had reservations about the fact that they don't chat to the crowd as I place a lot of value on that when watching a band live but it actually enhanced the experience. They certainly weren't ignoring the crowd, and there was interaction aplenty just not verbally. Yet, despite what I expected it went with the whole mystique of the band and I didn't begrudge it at all in the end. Highly recommend checking out more of their music, I absolutely adore this band and that's not something I'll say lightly as I'm not exactly a teenager with bedroom walls adorned with posters lol. A 43 year old man falling in love with a band.

I am 63 and this is the most interesting band since I was a teenager. I’m not a fan of over production and this band actually doesn’t overdo and has something extra to say. Only Led Zeppelin had such compelling mythology

As a side note, the band was formed by the singer, known as Vessel. He formed the band after seeing an ancient diety, dubbed by Vessel as Sleep. You will find listening to them as reaction videos people who will only comment Worship. Worship.

The thing about Sleep Token is they literally have something for EVERYONE, doesn't matter if you like metal or not. They have plenty of songs that wouldn't even be considered metal. Have your girlfriend listen to Bloodsport live from the room below. Vessel has a haunting voice man.

Welcome to the cult! Sleep Token nails it with every single song they put out. Be aware though: they aren't a metal band. Sleep Token does what they want, and they wipe the floor with everyone in every genre they take on. If you want some clear-cut examples of them not being a metal band, check out The Night Does Not Belong to God, Take Aim, Fall For Me, and Blood Sport (From the Room Below).

You should check out the love you want. Show her that one. It will easily get her into it

Love watching the birth of a new Sleep Token fan! When they come back to the states I highly recommend going. Saw them in Sept and cannot tell you how incredible being at the barrier for that show was! I feel you on trying to get non-metal friends and SOs into metal. I use songs like Blood Sport (The Room Below version) to introduce non-metal people to Sleep Token. Sugar, Atlantic, Telomeres, Missing Limbs, The Love You Want would be good songs to introduce her to. Then move to The Offering, Hypnosis. Kind of like sneaking Snuff in to introduce Slipknot. LOL! Worship!

@@motherofspiders763 I saw them in September as well with Nothing More and In This Moment. Never been a fan of In This Moment, but Sleep Token was incredible. It sucked they were opening since we only got six songs, but it was great. Found out the next city they played in didn’t have In This Moment so they were able to play a longer set. A little bummed I didn’t catch that one.

@@RubixNoob1993 The only reason we got the small venue was because Maria got sick and they canceled the 2 shows we had tix for: charlotte and Myrtle Beach. Charlotte was canceled about 2 hours before the show was supposed to start. Then we got a notice that Nothing More set up a pop up show for the next night about an hour and half away. So we got tix and took off. Got to close to front of the line and made barrier by Bassy. While we were bummed about missing the 2 shows, this made up for it 1000x over. Got a longer ST set and Nothing More put on a great show. Fingers crossed ST comes back soon.

Could you check out the band "Poets of the Fall" and their music video "Carnival of Rust" They are a super underrated rock band from Finland and "Carnival of Rust" is their biggest international hit by a huge margin. Also the music video was chosen as the best Finnish music video ever made!

Well, this is just two of quite a few sides of Sleep Token. There are a few songs of theirs your GF would probably appreciate a lot. And then there's The Summoning, hah. I think one of the ways of getting people into metal should be starting slow and low. I've started to listen to increasingly heavy music over the past few years, though I've been into Rammstein early on, so a little bit of a heavier star (not to mention a long while of increasingly heavier techno-EDM stuff before that). On the other hand, not everyone has to get into it, so that's perfectly fine, too. Otherwise we wouldn't have the hugely diverse thing that is music. So...just as a suggestion that came to mind when you say you want to make videos with her, how about starting with a big gut punch? The artist Ren has a trilogy of songs called The Tale Of Jenny & Screech". It's a 13 min video in the correct order of songs and it's nothing remotely metal. But extremely heavy.

I'll have to pre screen it lol I just tried to get her to do Dimash? but again still not sure. For me I see tons of reaction channels do dimash and get billions of views off it but I can't do it alone. I can't give a shit Adele type singing because for me it's always more then the vocalist which is what I've been seeing from friends in the reaction scene. but if you sincere think Ren is good then I'll try it.

@@Killermcknight I've seen the comments on other channels recommending Dimash and such...sometimes they're pretty creepy. The extreme ends of fandoms are strange. Nah, this is...well, basically just rap. A guy with a guitar. Simple as that. Not particularly the best singer in the world either. A pre-screening would be a damn shame, but you do you. You could also try his song "Hi Ren" first, that's also a great show of story telling. I mainly recommended the other one, because it's the one that shows his story telling the best, in my opinion. Both (and many more of his) are fire, though. Or none of those, if you'd like to stay more on the metal side. That's cool

@@Killermcknight Yeah, it's really weird. It's almost as if there's more of a cult around the reaction, or rather spreading of requests itself than the people being fans of the singer/musician/band. I mostly already feel somewhat bad for throwing out a recommendation at all, just because I know most reactors are already flooded the instant they gain traction and what apparently (a part of!) the audience seems to think they have a right to. And then, when the reactor doesn't like the song.... It's the internet being the internet. Sad as it is, at times.

but I understand the feeling of not being able to share the genres you love with the people you love. my girlfriend is very receptive to most things I show her. Sleep Token is easy listening compared to stuff like Alpha Wolf. If you want to introduce her to harder genres, start with something like Eidola. They're riffy as fuck but there is something so captivating about their sound. 'Loti' is a girlfriend-friendly song of theirs
