THey are one of the bands that never made a crappy song. Oh they were so good!

Great southern rock band from the 60's-80's. It is very sad what happened to this band in losing so many members in a plane crash in 1977. My favorite songs are "Simple Man", "Free Bird" & "Sweet Home Alabama". They had lots of great songs such as "Call Me The Breeze", "Tuesday's Gone", "That Smell", "The Ballad Of Curtis Loew", "What's Your Name", "Saturday Night Special", "Gimme Three Steps" etc.

This was advice from Ronnie's grandmother that was made into a song..and what an amazing song it is....

Lynyrd Skynyrd - great band! They got their name from a PhysEd teacher (Leonard Skinner). That said, this video reminds me of a completely different song of the same name - “Simple Man” by Bad Company. Bad Company’s singer, Paul Rodgers, went on to join Jimmy Page in The Firm, and toured with Queen after the loss of Freddie Mercury.

Shinedown also did a great cover of this song. Great reaction BTW. I grew up listening to these bands that you've never heard of!

Skynyrd was such an epic band back in my High School days. Being a west coast guy I wasn’t really into or knew much about southern rock until they broke onto the music scene There 3 guitar attack , Ronnie’s vocals and sold playing just took you. Great song. Thanks

If you haven't already, you MUST react to their live performance of Freebird from Oakland in 1977. It is GOLD. There is a reason Skynyrd is southern rock royalty. This song is absolutely beautiful and the message is timeless. A masterpiece is correct!

You nailed it. Now fall in love with this BAND Skynynrd are rock legends. Time to Leap into the Rabbit Hole of the Skynyrd library. Aerosmith, Zeppelin, Grand Funk Railroad, Black Sabbath, RUSH, Ted Nugent, Bob Seger, Doobie Brothers, Three Dog Night, Deep Purple, Crosby, Stills, & Nash, / Young. Jefferson Airplane, Jefferson Starship, Nazareth, Bachman Turner Overdrive, Allman Brothers, Molly Hatchet, .38 Special, Scorpions, Early AC/DC with Bon Scott. This is a good starters list of Rabbit holes to dive head first into. Start with the earliest song date and you will open the world to Hard Rock Music.

They never had a bad song, every song is great. Gary Rossington, the lead guitar player, was phenomenal on the guitar! He just recently passed away, may he rest in peace. This band had so much talent. The plane crash that killed so many of them was a true tragedy. The death of Ronnie Van Zant robbed us of the great music he could have made in the future. He was a true talent and song writer. His brother took over in Ronnie’s place and I’m sorry to say can’t hold a candle to Ronnie.

Another great song written as a parents"How-To" guide to life is Tim McGraw's "Humble and Kind". The visuals are stunning so I recommend the video if you can.

It's so sad that all of the original members are all passed away 🙏 Gary Rossington was the last member to pass this year. R.I.P.
