This song was and always will be a staple in my life. Another great choice! I just want to say, I think it's really cool you read all your comments and respond to people a lot. With my channel I have found that doing so has only enhanced my experience which I never expected. It's become quite cathartic and it really helps me fine tune some things. Good on you! I hope it enriches your journey if it hasn't already.

@@StaxReacts Aw thanks, mister... I can hardly believe it myself. It's a big deal for me... I've always had the desire to connect with people through music and I have found many ways to do that. But this platform allows me to do so on a level I never imagined. MUSIC=LIFE and it's just an amazing tool to relate to ANYONE. It's one of the most important things in my life. You are growing too and I imagine it won't be long before you surpass any expectations you may have had. There are very few humans who check all my boxes in this niche but you are in my top five. I know this is all subjective and everyone has their preferences... but I watch a shit ton of reactions and feel like I might know some things about what this whole process "should" look like. If that makes sense. The most important thing for me is genuineness and a deep love for music. Keep doing what you're doing. You've got a friend and supporter in me for the long haul. 💜

RUN-DMC was the first hip hop artists to have their own shoe deal, Adidas was tanking in sales but when an executive went to a RUN-DMC concert and saw everyone in the stadium hold their shell toes in the air during the song "My Adidas " he immediately wrote a contract for RUN-DMC. They are the reason I still rock shell toes at 50 years old!

This started my love of hiphop/rap. This album and Beastie Boys "License to Ill." RunDMC does one called "You Be Illin'" which is hilarious. Story-telling rap. Edit to add: check out "My Adidas" by these guys. They were the "tennyshoe" (as we call them down here) to get in the mid/late 80s if you weren't heavy into AirJordans.

Run DMC had a four album run of classics - Run-DMC (debut), King Of Rock, Raising Hell (where this song is from) and Tougher Than Leather. Run-DMC changed hip hop from disco beats and happy party raps to that boom bap style that took over the 80s. Check out Peter Piper - you’ll be floored by the DJing and back and forth rhyming.

Im dying for them to realize we need Ad Rock, Mike D, Run, DMC and Mix Master Mike to put out a rick rubin produced album titled Still Together Forever, or something and go on tour. It's allows them all to make something new and creative, without minimizing those weve lost. Sometimes you lose a brother, but there's a cousin or best friend that can at least temporarily fill that spot, because they already know the family.

Been enjoying your reactions. Run DMC and The Beasties were my middle school jam when they came out. This rural white girl loved them. A few years ago I snagged Run DMC on vinyl. Their Raising Hell album was my memories. My little bro and I would drive our folks nuts singing the songs in the backseat. Check out their song King of Rock or Raising Hell. Adidas were Run DMC. They made a song called My Adidas which ended up landing them an advertising campaign that pretty much lit the brand on fire. I guess Adidas were cheap and everyone in their neighborhood wore them. They wore them without laces because when you got arrested the jailers took your laces. Because of Run DMC and the Beasties I always have a pair of Adidas. Just sort of my thing since I was a teen. I recently watched the new docuseries on Run DMC called Kings from Queens and it is worth the watch. Brought up all sorts of nostalgia. These guys were good fun and seem like real stand up dudes. Sadly Jam Master Jay was murdered in his studio in the neighborhood he grew up in. Pretty sad loss. He seemed to help everyone out. It was pretty hard on the other 2 and they laid the group to rest with him. I have mad respect for them. Can't have a Christmas without listening to their Christmas in Hollis.

Run DMC "My Adidas" . And If you want to know the deal with the style, swag, and pretty much an all-around feel for what the hip Hop scene was back then, on your own time you should look up and check out a movie titled "Crush Groove" . . And hell, if you want maybe do a reaction to it. . . People will definitely check it out. . . Hip hop just had a so much better feel back then, it was more about the music and less about being hard or being a thug. . . Would love to see some reactions to some "Naughty by Nature" or even "Kid and Play" . . They were really big in the very early 90's. They even had three movies, and a cartoon that came on Saturday mornings.

They actually were sponsered by Adidas, Jonathen Davis from KoRn atyempted the same thing years later, but adidas turned them down and Puma picked them up.

One of my guilty pleasures is the movie White Chicks - Two of the Wayans brothers play cops who go undercover as white girls to solve a crime (I know, it's silly) - there's a club scene where they have a dance battle with these (actual) white girls to this song. It's amazing and hilarious. Here's a link to the clip. Great reaction as always. kzread.info/dash/bejne/k6BlrKyuZtWxaZc.html
