The original was record by Johnny Cash back in 1955. There's another great Roy Clark song you should check out called, "Thank God And Greyhound". You will definitely like it.
Roy Clark was most famous for co-hosting Hee Haw which was a country music and comedy variety show for over 25 years. He won CMA for Entertainer of the year once and three times for Musician of the year. He played guitar, banjo and fiddle, I remember my dad said he could play anything with strings.
Roy Clark, one of the worlds best guitarists. Comedy, sing, an old time entertainer. It’s a Johnny Cash song.
Roy Clark was a hilarious country comedian on top of having a great singing voice (both when clowning as he is here, and when he is serious), and was an absolute "Ph.D." in guitar mastery!

John Battles, true, as well as banjo, mandolin and violin/fiddle--absolutely anything with strings.
Johnny Cash sung the original. Jimmy Dean, whose show he's on, was another good performer. You should check out BIG BAD JOHN by Jimmy Dean
You are such a funny nerd. So am I. Never change
Mr Clark really shows off his guitar skills on 12th Street Rag.
You MUST react to Roy Clark playing the beautiful romantic tune "Malaguena" (Mah-lah-gwane'-yah), and another funny one called "Thank God and Greyhound"!
You should do dueling banjos...Roy Clark! So good!! You want to get to know him, watch Hee Haw!!
Roy Clark is an extremely talented musician not only guitar fiddle banjo whatever he does it’s outstanding! He was on he Hall for years downplaying his musical abilities! Listen to him playing the orange blossom special on a fiddle oh young boy is playing banjo with him… Their interaction is so funny during the performance
MRLBOYD MUSIC, I just noticed an excellent suggestion down below from Jan Kreps, suggesting you watch Roy and a young boy play together--him on fiddle, and the boy, Jimmy, on banjo. Here's the link, in case you want to follow the suggestion: Roy Clark & Jimmy - www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFadV...
You remember Roy Clark well! He's the one that played classical Spanish guitar Malagueña . He was the Best and humble as well. Thanks!
on the complete opposite side ,listen to his song "yesterday "
Johnny Cash did it originally and the acapella group Home Free did a cover of it during quarantine.
Roy Clark host of Hee Haw for roughly 20 years. Great show, very humorous 🤑
Johnny Cash had a big hit with this. There is a video of Johnny and Roy doing this as a duet from the 80s and Home Free has also done an impressive cover of this song.
What many do not realize is the things he was doing with his legs was poking fun at Johnny Cash. 😀
STOIC 👍🏻
Stoicism for the win! 👍
