Finnish is a difficult language for an ai translator to get right. It start with old-timey life advice of loving your spouse, having many children and working hard on your farm, and a command to tame your demons (vices, deviance etc., anything that wasn't the norm) in the chorus. But then the style of the advice changes to examples of modern day harmful, hypocritical and superficial things like keeping up a certain fake upper class image. And then the chorus again commands us to tame our demons and accept those things as norm.

One of my favourite songs from them, along with "Nujerra Ihminen" perhaps. Like many other Mokoma songs, Kesytä Perkeleet deals with the hardships and frustration of your average life. That's how I interpret it anyway, "tame the demons" within yourself

I'd say that basically the lyrics are just about living your average finnish life with a hint of self-irony. Be a good wife/husband, make many children and love everyone of them. Take care of your small farm, decorate your home white (like in all home decoration magazines) etc etc. And then the chorus "Kesytä perkeleet" I think means that try not to be temped to do otherwise. Just live your basic humble life. So no religious stuff going on there. This is what I get from it. Somebody might disagree :D Anyway sweet that you really reacted to Mokoma! If you want to listen more I'd suggest songs "Takatalvi" live pre-recorded version or "Sydänjuuret" lyric video.

Mokoma has many sides and this is one of them. It can be fkn brutal and jump to melodics on the next one. Love the band. This sounds Finnish af.
