Way more than that, but i guess you basic people feel in love with the superficial and simple meaning of this song. He expresses also happiness, anger, care, hate, envy, pity, defeatism, search of courage, wellbeing, etc. Not to mention the superb vocal range, power, originality and the mastery of the musical instruments and their limits.

It’s just a song about insecurity and how he wanted to be with someone that seems way out of his league. It’s a pretty relatable song for people that struggle with self image. That’s why he’s like whatever YOU want since obviously she doesn’t want him.. and just questioning his own existence. Probably one of the best written songs ever

You miss the whole premise of the song. At no point does it mention her feelings (acceptance or rejection) for him ... it's all about his insecurities, as I am sure most of us "loved up" males have experienced? For reference try looking up Janet Kay "silly games".

When Thom turns it up one octave heading into the final chorus push it's epic. Being in love or infatuated with someone that you feel is too good for you definitely hurts & is self defeating. Thom had a huge crush on a girl in college that he actually used to follow around but never even tried to speak to because he felt he wasn't good enough. He actually saw her once when she showed up at a Radiohead gig as well. Thom wasn't very happy with the song though. He hated the lyrics he wrote. The guitar player added those hard banging sounds at first as a joke because he didn't like it either. The public loved it & obviously it became a huge hit. Creep is loved so much that it's all anyone ever wanted to hear. Radiohead actually dropped it from their set to try & make way for new music. That song is impossible to break free from though because "Creep" will always be relatable to so many. Liking that seemingly unattainable person & wishing you were more. MANY have covered this song & argue that this person or that person does a great cover. In my opinion, Thom Yorke's voice on this track IS "Creep".

I have no idea what you're talking about. Other than being slow and mild until a moment where the band is introduced and changes the vibe, this song and My Immortal aren't even in the same ballpark, feelings-wise. My Immortal: Feelings of nostalgia, a lost connection, suffering the knowledge that something will never happen again, while also suffering the knowledge that it's this nostalgia that's stopping you from healing, yet somehow still feeling like the thing you lost was so wonderful that not grieving for it a bit longer would be a form of betrayal. Creep: Feelings of inadequacy, of not being enough. Of being too bland, boring, creepy, average, you name it. Of not having enough to offer. Turning at times towards anger, aimed both at yourself and at your "Oh so perfect" object of desire "Just show one flaw, so that I can feel like I have a chance" style, and at other times into absolute despair over not being able to give up on the person. One is the end, the other is a potential, however unlikely, beginning. They're as unalike as Texas and Alaska. No. Wait.Texas and Syberia.

You actually think about these songs, what they mean, what they mean to you... I love that my dude. Also, I love how you are trying to get your partner to be more vocal in her opinion on these songs. It's apropos that this song is about insecurity and you are trying to get her to push back her insecurities and speak about how she actually feels about the music. I really love the community that has popped up around this channel and I really believe it would be supportive to her being more open about how she feels concerning these songs. This song is on my list of all time top ten songs & has never left it for over 20 years. Not only is the music beautiful, but those lyrics, combined with Thom Yorke's voice - *MASTERPIECE!* Hence the reason it gets covered so much, but no-one can achieve the perfection of Radiohead's original - Thom wrote it & you can FEEL his raw emotion! *PLEASE PLEASE* react to Street Spirit (fade away): - it is so memorising a haunting song - dark but captivating💗 'Karma Police', 'Paranoid Android',(Live for both!), 'Fake Plastic Trees', 'Iron Lung' - Radiohead are up there with the greats. Their music is eclectic, experimental, almost a genre of their own - each band member is a master of their craft. 👏

Its a very personal song to him , you are right about that, its about a girl in University he was crazy about but didn't dare approach her. Though he did one night when very drunk he decided to tell her and rather understandably she was freaked and ran. Hence the lines "She's running out again" . He just never felt he was good enough for her , she was on a pedestal way too high for him. A few years ago she turned up to one of their concerts, someone told him and he almost couldn't go on.

Dave Grohl said Radiohead re-invented music as we know it. As a Brit, I grew up with them, but they seemed to be dwarfed by the Verve, Oasis and Blur, but when it comes from a musician that we have immense respect for across the pond, that's a powerful statement from within the industry. Food for thought.

Wow. As a young man, you are young, inexperienced at life. A young woman just knocks you out, as she is so, so everything you think is beautiful. You daren't approach her, fearing rejection. She is on one level higher. Best stay in the background, near the edge of things. Until maybe, just maybe the opportunity comes to speak at length with her. But you never forget her. A crush, infatuation, such wonderful emotions that you wish she could feel as well. All the beautiful scenarios in your mind, never realized. Those intense emotions carry you through it all. In time, you come away with having learned about life and unrequited love. Every heartbroken teen should listen to this song. Ya' know, we never really know how others think and feel. I mean REALLY.

More good Radiohead songs: (My favorites) My Iron Lung (It is about the song "Creep") Street Spirit No Surprises How to Disappear Completely Paranoid Android (Jools Holland 1997) Life In a Glasshouse (Live on Jools - 2001) A Wolf At the Door (Lyrics) Videotape (from the basement) Nude (from the basement) They have changed sound so much over the years so almost no album sounds like the other!

Radiohead began in the early 90's in the UK as Britain's answer to Nirvana's brand of grunge rock w/ vocalist/guitarist Thom Yorke... This was their first hit single in 1993. The first album 'Pablo honey' also had 2 more singles - 'Stop whispering' ... 'Anyone can play guitar'. But Radiohead's 2nd album 'The Bends' in 1995 was not a big hit despite the singles 'High and dry'... 'Fake plastic trees'. The band made a radical departure out of 90's rock, and brought in electronic sounds & samples on 3rd album 'OK Computer' in 1997... it became a slow seller and gave Radiohead a major hit record... 'Karma police'... 'Paranoid android' ... 'No surprises' ... were the singles. 4th album 'Kid A' in 2000 went to #1 on the US charts, w/ Radiohead going into ambient, Pink Floyd-style sounds... more electronic sounds on 5th album 'Amnesiac' in 2001... 6th album 'Hail to the thief' brought back some rock sound... 'There there' was a single from it in 2003. Subsequent records 'In rainbows' (2007), The king of limbs (2011), and 'A moon-shaped pool' (2016) all made the top 5 charts in the USA.

Probably their biggest radio hit, but not really representative of most of their music. The lead singer Thom Yorke actually hated this song for a while, and they stopped playing it at their concerts. They've got a long and varied discography, but are generally known for their experimental and melancholy sound. If you're in that sort of mood there's not much better. If you're curious I'd definitely recommend their live sessions "From the Basement".

I believe this song was inspired by a real life person. This is a great version but I really like acoustic version by The Pretenders - Creep (Live At London's Jakob Street Studios 1995) I have both versions in my library.

He wrote this at college , when he saw a beautiful girl that he felt was out of his league. I think many teens have insecurities about themselves. Many have fallen for that popular guy/girl at school that has everybody chasing them. And you know you've got no chance , this song is how many feel about themselves

My favorite part is 6:09 when the guitar starts playing that high note right before he starts yelling. To me, it gives the impression of a crying baby.

You pretty much got it … is basically about being in love with someone, but you don’t feel you’re good enough for them, fairly universal feeling for everyone at one time or another.

Great band. Certainly a particular taste but deeper band than this song would show. I’d definitely recommend “Talk Show Host” by Radiohead. Thanks !!! Enjoying your channel.
