One of my favorites from them. One of many
If anyone asked me to capture the essence of grunge in one song, this is the one.

🤔 I'd say "in bloom" was the one lol
One of my FAVS by Nirvana!!!
Definitley one of my favorites by Nirvana
Awesome album. Highly recommend the song "In Bloom." The Bleach album and In Utero album were likewise very good. Hormoaning and Incesticide are also must listens.
As far as people saying they don't mess with Nirvana, I can think of 2 scenarios. 1) Early 90's, there were 5 main Grunge groups - everyone has their favorite - typically based on lead singer. Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, & Nirvana. 2) I take in account your core group of subs. Since I know your channel well, I can comfortably say that I'm not surprised by that comment. I will say, I don't care what generation you're in - fan or not, a Nirvana shirt is bad ass.

Only the Seattle Big Four counts - STP is NOT a "grunge" band the'yre not from the PNW nor signed to Sub Pop or any other local labels, they are a 90's alt band at most and that's it...

@@StonerMatt I’ve always believed “grunge” was mainly just for Seattle considering the fact most of the “grunge” bands don’t sound alike to begin with. Simply it’s just early 90s alt rock

yeah i was totally into alice & chains lol still loved nirvana, sound garden was ok, and i loved STP 🤔 but weirdly i always hated pearl jam tho, i can't even remember why i hated them but i do remember thinking they were fake frauds, like a gangster rapper who never actually did anything gangster or sold any drugs 😂 lol, let me know tho, was i wrong about that ?

I can't think of one genre of music that was the birthplace of that genre that doesn't acknowledge other bands who have come along outside of that location who have also been successful in that genre be excluded from carrying that genre label because they weren't apart of the initial location. The key to my reasoning of saying "in the early 90's the 5 main Grunge groups... based on lead singer" is worldwide album sales & lead singer impact. With respect, to say that a group is not a grunge band because they weren't signed to the Sub Pop label is inconsistent to how a groups genre can be defined. Why I included them in the discussion is STP's albums "Core" & "Purple" have huge worldwide album sales - higher than other grunge groups I could have mentioned. (Green River, for example) My second reason I mentioned was voice. In my opinion, Kurt had rawness, Chris had range, Eddie has control, Staley had power, Scott had versatility & all 5 voices are the most recognizable within the genre.

@@Big_Black_Dick 🙂 See, that's exactly what I was talking about - we all have our favorite within the genre. You said to share about PJ. Well, Pearl Jam is actually MY favorite because of Eddie Vedder's voice & their songs speak to me. "Black" (MTV Unplugged), in my opinion, is one of the most beautiful songs ever & Eddie's vocal performance is mind blowing. I'd love for you to check ✔️ it out & reply back to me your honest opinion. I'm interested to see what you think. We can all relate to losing someone you love or unrequited love - which is what also makes Radiohead "Creep" so relatable. If you really wanna see what Eddie & the band is like NOT Unplugged, faster, wild, and harder go for "Even Flow"!! It still makes me laugh at the very beginning when he yells at the lighting guy "TURN THE LIGHTS DOWN, JOSH"! Everyone loves "Porch" (Live at Pink Pop) because Eddie jumps off a crane and crowd surfs at a festival, meanwhile, the band is going insane playing. Mike McCready is one hell of a guitarist! When Eddie gets back to the stage his voice sounds like he's a stadium anthem Rock God. I also love Alice In Chains & STP. "Man In The Box" & "Plush" are two of my favorite songs. Nirvana was strong for me but some songs I didn't relate to while Soundgarden was always a challenge for me. Chris's voice was otherworldly but I never got into the music. 🤷🏼♀️ I'm so glad you shared. It's fun to talk about those iconic bands, singers, & songs of Grunge!
The dynamic of very quiet verse contrasting very loud chorus, the perfect lyric lines to lead into that superclassic chorus, the cool bass solo, the arrangement (verse, chorus, verse chorus, bridge, solo, verse, chorus, bridge), and even that wonderful double snare drum hit on "gonna crack". And it just doesn't drag on anywhere. Definitely Nirvana's best song.
I would venture a guess that the number of people who wore Nirvana shirts back in the '90s and 2000s FAR outweighed the number who were actually fans. EVERYONE was wearing Nirvana shirts. And I agree with Jennifer below who said that if you were into the grunge scene, you had your favorite band and in a lot of cases you weren't super fond of the others. Personally I was, and still am, a HUGE Nirvana fan. The other grunge groups are all great and I enjoy all their music, but for me it's Nirvana #1. Lithium wasn't their highest charting song, but it has endured as one of their most well known.

loved nirvana but i was really into alice & chains lol 😅 around mid to late 90s i got into hybrid rock & hiphop bands like rage against the machine and Korn lol
The song structure of this song is just perfect
Favorite Nirvana song would be Aneurysm (live from Reading Festival 1992) Favorite Nirvana album would be Bleach
You know I appreciate the honesty
R.I.P. KURT COBAIN 🕊 🕊 🕊 🕊
Listen to Dive, On a Plane, Lounge Act, About a Girl, that will get you into some deep cuts.
I love Nirvana👍
Many times you need to listen song a few times to get into it.
There is suspected to be more than 200 Nirvana songs or appearances by Kurt Cobain on another record but it's mostly nirvana or him solo. There is supposedly many more that the public has never heard.
how is it possible to hear this first time with 20 yrs old
Gotta listen to Heart-Shaped Box or this same song from the 1992 vmas
I agree it's a middle of road song
love it! it is so badass!
Nirvana is classic🔥🔥🔥
Thanks for leaving that part in. 102. 😆 Btw interesting factoid. Nirvana was on the MTV music awards when the album Nevermind came out. Smells Like Teen Spirit was the "big hit" and up for video of the year and that's what they were supposed to play. They didn't care and purposely played this one instead and it apparently really annoyed the TV execs. Go watch this video from the MTV music awards it's awesome. Dave Grohl almost got into a fight with Axel Rose from Guns and Roses because he was being typical diva Axel and holding up the show. Dave was making fun of him after the song on stage calling him out "Axel, oh Axel"...
This song is just great 🔥🔥
My favorite Nirvana song, then its Teen Spirit.
Love me some Nirvana and love, love me some Kurt 😍
Fantastic track ,love this one .
Definitely top 3 three of mine from them
Heart shaped box is my favorite Nirvana

As far as 90's, I was always more of a smoke some weed and listen to Sublime kind of person.... and wonder why everyone else was so full of angst. Try out some Sublime songs.

You don't need to be angsty to like Nirvana. That's one of the stupid things i hear from people who listen to music depending on its "vibe". If the song sounds good it's what matters.

I’m a late in life Nirvana fan. As a mom and a daughter Kurt’s death hurts me on several levels. Been using music to battle depression since 91 and it’s why I couldn’t think of leaving my kids. Also I need to hear everything in Princes vault.😂🎉
There are better drummers than Dave Grohl, but man does he hit the right notes
Milk It, definitely do Milk It next.
Please react to milky chance
Hey bro, if you are a fan of anime there are a LOT of great anime inspired artists here on YT with music that is a lot better than most mainstream artists. Daddyphatsnaps, Rustage, Fabvl are 3 of my favorite right now, 100% worth a look, itll open a new audience for you too Sending peace and love
REACT TO PEAR JAM ALIVE AND INCUBUS DRIVE
react to their songs rape me, something in the way, in bloom, and dumb
Why have so many grunge singers taken their own lives or died tragically! ? It’s like 70s musicians, good lord
It was funny, why take it out? We all are human… not sure if youve started with the drummers band, dave grohl, but love everything he has done with them. Can you imagine hitting it big with not 1 but 2 bands?
why’d you give up on korn
Kurt committed suicide two months before my mom did in 1994. 🥺
