Dan used to give singing lessons. He knows how to protect his voice. He said he warms up the day before recording and then doesn’t speak at all for the next 24 hr. after. The harmonica was given to him by his father when he was around 7. Amazing Grace was his father’s favorite hymn. His father passed away 5 or 6 years ago. He released this video just before Easter. I believe he used the harmonica in place of the more commonly used bag pipes in this song.

Yes, and their existing 12-track album (on Spotify and all the other music sites out there) is called "Chronicles of Ancient Wisdom." If you listen to it, and know your Bible, be watching for the treasures, and for the overall plan of the album (which was written--lyrics and music--entirely by Dan and his brother Davi (Da-vee' ). Davi has his own website, also. He's a world-renowned video games music composer (and game-writer). He's just as fantastic at what he does, as Dan is at what HE does. 😀

I was told to keep sharing my story, so here I go again. This song saved my life. I was in a dark place and fate made this appear as a suggestion for me to watch. I hadn't sobbed that hard in a while. Dan made me feel less alone in this world and that I'm not alone in trying our best everyday as flawed human beings. I'm not religious, but it felt like God hugged my heart. I hope someday he happens upon one of my comments. If he does, I want him to know how thankful I am for him. As Dan says, have an epic day!

This is Grandma from Texas. Somehow he made the harmonica sound somewhat like the traditional bagpipes. I cry every single time I watch people react to this rendition by Dan Vasc. It is interesting to watch grown me try not to weep. He really seems to personally mean what he is singing. Amazing Grace was meant to be sung like this and we didn’t even know it til Dan Vasc lifted his beautiful voice and brought it. Subscribed

The harmonica (reportedly given to him by his beloved late father) gives his performance a Celtic feel IMHO. I live in an Irish/Catholic neighborhood in The Bronx, down the block from a beautiful Catholic Church and we hear the bagpipes (and church bells) all the time. I am 62 years "young" and a recovering alcoholic in AA. In my area this song means a lot to us (even if an individual does NOT believe in God). I am also a devout Italian/Catholic and this will be played when J.C. "calls me home" because I am a Metal head and because it's just beautiful. Freddie Mercury must be looking down from heaven and saying "dahling, not only are you beautiful, but keep that voice going" visit his channel...

I’m not really a fan of metal style but Dan has converted me! He sings many styles besides metal. Listen to his cover of Gethsemane, Handel’s Hallelujah, Time to say goodbye. These are just a few. BTW I’m 81 years old so I don’t think many people of my age enjoy the metal style but Dan converted me!

Dan Vasc is a Brazilian metal singer (his father was Italian.) Hence English is his second language. He has studied for years to develop his range and vocal techniques. Dan is from Juiz de Fora, Brazil, and he can truly sing absolutely anything! Excellent reaction to this excellent version of this song! I've been listening to him since 9/15/20, and from what I've heard from him on the livestreams he's been on this week (two on Monday, two on Tuesday), he's got so much great stuff he's working on for us, his audience and his only bosses. Dan could have signed with labels, but he'd have to give himself and his artistic freedom up, so he's going to remain independent. That's excellent for us, because a label would try to box him into a certain genre box, and Dan can do it all! His channel has this, Christmas music, opera (Nessun Dorma is incredible), 80s rock, acoustic (check out Loch Lomond, for example), and metal, of course. Have fun exploring his channel and finding your own favorites. I love them all, but I especially love the DragonForce covers, the Manowar covers, Sound of Silence(first one I ever heard by him), and A Million Dreams and Beyond Belief.🤘🤘🤘

It's definitely amazing hearing him go from a very resonant, natural low baritone, to belting in a mixed (still chest connected) voice above what most tenors can do.

Thanks Dan for all of the joy you've given to all of us

Eyes getting watery is quite the norm for the first time hearing this incomparable rendition by Dan, especially for believers. I’ve been trolling channels for months and excluding a very few, everyone reacting was emotionally moved, some deeply, I know I was. I honestly do not know how one can remain UNmoved. His harmonica solo magically mimics bagpipes IMO, which are somewhat synonymous with Amazing Grace and perhaps this is the reason you detect a hint of Irish? Your expressions of awe and deep appreciation were so authentic and your commentaries were great! 😁 Thank you for your awesome reaction. 😊 Subbing ❤

I honestly think the "bagpipe" effect is what did it. Some of his pronunciations may have swayed me too. It's amazing regardless of where he comes from though!

Wonderful reaction! It is moving! I'm a PK (Preacher's Kid) and have heard this performed, and performed it thousands of times throughout my 55 years. Dan ABSOLUTELY 💯 has the best rendition EVER! (Imho) He absolutely blows everyone else out of the park. I've listened to this since 3 weeks after he released it. Multiple times a day and it still gives me chills and moves me to tears. I truly believe that God ordained/inspired Dan to do this song "for such a time as this". When our world is in turmoil and more divided than ever. People are looking for hope and meaning, and nothing gives TRUE hope and meaning like God's amazing grace!! I feel like all of Heaven stood still when Dan performed this. I pray that every person who hears it will come to know Jesus as their LORD and Savior. God bless!! 👑✝️❤️🌎👨‍👩‍👧‍👧🐑☝🏼💪🏾⚓️🪨🏰⛰️🛡🗡📖🙏🏼🧎🏼‍♀️🎶🙌🧂🕯💧🔥🕊🤟

That was a reaction to my taste 👍. Good sales reactions and genuine enthusiasm. Thanks for that. That's how I felt the first time too. Subscription goes out. And with this song began my journey with Dan...master singer....Vasc. And the journey has only just begun. Stay tuned and you'll see what I mean with every other (cover) song. To this day I can't really recommend any particular song because they're all bombastic. Whether the Witcher series "Burn Butcher Burn", "Tos A Coin To Your Witcher". Of course all with metal samples 🤟. From Lady Gaga "Poker Face" or, or, or......... Dan comes from Brazil, was 34 and has pushed many successful 80's songs forward again. He also has his own band "Fearless" with 2 friends and his younger brother. The album is called - Chronicles of Ancient Wisdom - compiled. Just great ❤️. I look forward to further reactions.

Thank you for your awesome reaction. I highly recommend also reacting to Dan's performance of Angels We Have Heard On High. Dan sings the verses in several languages ending with English and the song really highlights his operatic talent and skills. In addition, I recommend watching his performance of Dawn of Victory ft. Fabio Leone a mentor of Dan's who wrote the song with his band Rhapsody. In the video you will see Dan, Fabio and Dan's band Fearless which includes his brother Davi who plays bass guitar and also their childhood friends. Fabio was on tour with his band and did a re-route and traveled to Dan's home in Brazil to perform the song with him. They are both metal artists so this song will show you this side of Dan's music. Both songs are beautiful and powerful songs and will show you his amazing range. A side note to Dan's performance of Amazing Grace: The harmonica Dan played was given to him as a child by his father and he cherished it very much. They were very close but sadly Dan's father passed away in 2017. He always wanted to make his father proud and stated a couple of years later in a post "I wish he could have seen how far I came in those two years. I'll tell him all about it one day." Thanks again for your awesome reaction 💖.

Here in Brazil this song has an association with mourning, I don't know why. Well, in the part where he plays the harmonica, I think he wanted to give a lighter and happier tone to the music. I say this because this is his background.
