Now this is an artist of the highest caliber. He is one artist that can put out an album every 8 to 10 years and it becomes number 1 in no time. He, Anita Baker, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott and Sade are some of the very few artist who can do that. In a class all their own. Quality music at it's finest.

Maxwell is only one of a very few R&B/Soul artist in the history of Soul Music, whose first four Albums/CDs went platinum. Maxwell’s first 4 Albums/CDs, “Urban Hang Suite” [1996], “Embrya” [1998], “Now” [2001], and “BLACKsummers’night” [2009], all went platinum (“Urban Hang Suite” went double platinum). (Luther Vandross had a string of 10 straight Platinum Albums starting with “Never Too Much” in 1981, but that was “technically” his third Album, as he had two albums with his band “Luther” prior to that, which failed to chart) The only other I can think of is “The Brother’s Johnson”, their first 4 albums went Platinum… “Look Out for #1” [1976], “Right on Time” [1977], “Blam” [1978], and “Light Up the Night” [1980]. You could Argue Alicia Keys and Sade, but to me they were crossover stars as well as soul artists so they kinda don't truly fit the Soul/R&B genre. The song and his voice aside, just wanna give a little cred to probably the best musicians, engineers and mix engineers the world has, they're all in this recording. They all contribute to something great that brings a good song together and turns it into what it became. Thanks all...
Maxwell is everything...I saw him 3 times one summer when came to Detroit... and each show was a completely different show... that's true artistry and showmanship.
