How are Mamamoo most self-produced female group? After the debut album B-sides, I-DLE albums haven’t had even one song that wasn’t written and produced by their members. Surely that title goes to them, no?

@@AmadanMath maybe she means moonbyul is the most credited female artist. is it enough evidence？rbw(although lack of promotion to the group)did/do give the members a lot of say when producing their songs unlike the other companies. g-idle is a younger team and they had a long break because of the scandal. in the other hand, mmm have many comebacks in their five years together. all the members only went solo the last two years. soyeon is a great leader and producer. maybe they will surpass mmm in the future. for now, I think mmm still hold the title. and they didn't have a dance choreographer until the hip era tell us how much work they have put into their performances. i have great respect for them. I know g-idle also had their problems with their shitty company but being the first gg from a small company is a totally different thing.

@@1000yop Not only Moonbyul write, compose and produce MMM's songs. All the members work in MMM's songs and her solos songs. But Byul is the most credited female artists by KOMCA.

I would not say that now. because Hwasa will pull the mic away during live performances where the performance is more important then the vocal. As a general rule they don't lip-sync because you can hear their breathes.

Since your favourite was “I Miss You”, you’ll definitely want to check out their live performance of the full song on the competition show Queendom. All of their stages on Queendom are powerful, but this one really hits hard and was probably the one that tipped them over the edge to winning the whole competition (against many wonderful groups and the wonderful Park Bom competing solo - really the whole show was a win win for everyone, regardless of final positions). The first half of the full song gives centre stage to Wheein’s incredible voice, just as the second half (the bit they performed in Killing Voice) is built around Solar’s amazing vocals. kzread.info/dash/bejne/e55518dvg9Swmqw.html Don’t read the comments too much though, because people start fighting about who has the best voice, which distracts from the more important truth that these four women are absolute treasures and we’re here to celebrate all of them.

Great reaction! It’s worth knowing that Mamamoo doesn’t have main, lead, sub positions. Going from left to right: Moonbyul debuted with the roles of Rap and Performance, Solar was Leader (of the group) and Vocals, Wheein was Vocals and Performance, and Hwasa was Vocals and Rap. As time has gone by, they’ve evolved and now they don’t talk about roles at all (except Solar is still the Leader). I think this was a brilliant strategy from the company, because they had three top tier vocalists in Solar, Wheein and Hwasa, each of whom is easily of main vocal standard for a good K-pop group, but instead they are all together in Mamamoo with no ranking between them. Rather than competing for status, they always balance the line distribution in their songs very evenly between the three of them, with Moonbyul getting a smaller amount of lines as the rapper. Fun fact (but also slightly sad): Moonbyul trained as a vocalist and is actually a pretty amazing singer herself. Someone had to take on the rap responsibility, and the company made her do it. In recent years she has been singing more and more in their songs. Her beautiful alto voice complements the three contrasting voices of Solar, Wheein and Hwasa. You will sometimes hear people refer to Solar as the main vocal, and she certainly does have an exceptionally powerful and beautiful and versatile voice. But this is not how the group have ever wanted to be organised, and it is unfair to the outstanding vocal talents of Wheein and Hwasa. In the early days, Wheein was probably the most versatile singer, and Hwasa the one with the most soulful colour, and Solar with the most powerful belts and interesting vocal effects. The group made a very wise choice in not assigning rankings but instead letting them make the best music possible with this incredible team of four women. Probably now Solar has the most consistently stable voice, Wheein has a much more delicate breathy style that is very much in demand for OSTs, Hwasa has an incredibly rich vocal colour, and they are joined vocally by Moonbyul, who has a gorgeous well-controlled lower range voice with exceptional emotional expressivity honed by all those years of rapping from the heart. At the end of the day, they are simply Mamamoo. Four wonderful women making the world a better place through their music. I am so excited for their comeback on October 11.

In the Kpop since they don't have a roles in the classical since they do have roles. That doesn't dimmish their talent. because when they do 4 part harmony. Solar is the Lead because she takes the top notes and Whee in the main the one that sets their dynamics too. Whee in has the least volume range so how loud they get is depended on how loud Whee in can get.

There actually is no main/lead singer in Mamamoo. All vocalists.

The fandom name is moomoo. Moo means radish and MMM's light stick is shaped like a daikon radish. Moomoos greet new fans by saying Welcome to the Radish Field! Yeah, it's goofy as hell but MMM's duality as serious artists vs crackhead beagle-dols is legendary. They're really a 4X4 team of all stars and best friends but Solar (2nd from left) is the leader and is sometimes described as the main singer by RBW, tho Solar denies it herself. If you want to hear more of Solar going off vocally you can find live performances of her covering Celine Dion's My Heart Will Go On, Whitney Houston's I Will Always Love You, Naomi Scott's Speechless (from Aladdin), her self-composed solo song Hello, and a bunch of MVs where she covers Korean ballads in her 2015-18 series called Solar Emotion, which were collected on her album Solar Gamsung (Emotion or Sensitivity) in 2018. Any moomoo will tell you that Mamamoo is best when they're live. When you put their amazing, always live vocals, riveting stage presence and bff team chemistry in front of an audience magic happens on stage. Two of the best examples that are safe for reactions are the Immortal Songs Medley, which was filmed at a MMM concert in 2017, and I Miss You from the competition tv show Queendom in 2019. I'd also recommend the gorgeous ballad Where Are We Now and the full version of their debut song Mr Ambiguous on the It's Live yt channel, which were filmed in a large studio with a live band last year. Not safe for reactions (unless you ghost the video over the background) but absolutely must-see spectacular vocal showcases are their 14 appearances on the singing competition tv show Immortal Songs 2 between 2015-19. My favorites are Delilah and Backwoods but you'll probably want to binge watch them all.

In this setup Wheein is the main vocalist she is the rock of the group. Everything goes through her. She is the one everyone does 2 part harmony with. Solar is the lead vocalist she is the one that takes the top notes in ever one harmonizes in 4 part harmony. Solar has the loudest voices and will sing the climax high note. Hwasa is a main adds color and soul to the group. Mamamoo is more like a jazz ensemble then a Kpop lineup where people come in and do their lines like a pony doing their one trick. The 3 have the same range and different style of singing. With Solar having a Pop vocal and Wheein and Hwasa are R&B/Jazz style. Anyone one of them can do the roles in the group. They are playing to what the are best at in this group. Wheein is also the most anxiety prone, which I think is the biggest limiting factor in her breaking out like the others. She is the most talented in dancing and singing of the group. her she solo effort tend to be safe.
