I was 22 and in the clubs when the song blew up. It was such a hit that people changed the name from parachute pants to Hammer pants. The song made millions he helped a lot of his friends with the money he made, he spent it all and taxes came after him. Now he's a minister in his old neighborhood out in California.

In the late 80s & early 90s we worked up a good sweat on the dance floor. I'm so thankful I lived in an area that had weekly dances for teenagers. Cost us 50 cents to get in and it was so fun. That was the time of shows like Dance Party USA and Club MTV.

I have a GREAT HAMMER story. In the 90's i worked at Nashville Tn airport for a rental car company. Him and His Band rented a 15 passenger van with temp tags because it had just came off truck was brand new, 3 nonths later our company put out a warrent for STOLEN van, I was a manager so we got to drive lot cars home. My boss just threw on a license plate to the car I was taken home. The next morning at 4:30am on my way to work got pulled over for speeding, talked my way out of it got back on road not even 1/2 mile up the road I was surrounded by police cars and officers with WEAPONS DRAWN 😮😮😮, scared the shiat outta me. My name tag on my uniform did not match my drivers license because i go by a different name (another RED FLAG). I was pulled over because the tags that was on the MUSTANG I was driven had the STOLEN TAGS from BOBBY BROWN and Band VAN THEY RENTED 🤦‍♀🤦‍♀🤦‍♀ soooo trying to explain what happened with tag thing was (I am sooooo sure) a lil strange, however i did find out that Bobby Brown and BAND let the van drive off an inbankment (small cliff) and LEFT IT...However the scary thing was I had a ounce of weed on me and in the 90's thats a few yrs in the POPO...Talked my way outta everyting and NO they did not look in the brown bag in my front seat that had the POT in it (thank goodness) soooo all is good with BOBBY NOW but damn it back then it wasn't...🤣🤣🤣
