Watching The Wheels, I'm losing You, Revolution 9 are just a few underrated songs from John Lennon that carry so much message, so relatable and soul piercing. We tend to forget that John Lennon is one of the greatest lyricist and musician the world has ever been gifted with. Long live John Lennon and his message of love and hope! He was a music genius snatched abruptly from us with his tragic death in the 80's. No amount of AI can ever recreate his genius, not with the latest song The Beatles released a few months ago, "Now and Then" which used Artificial Intelligence to get John Lennon's voice in the song.

Interesting to note that whilst Yoko was riduculed as an artist in the 60s and onwards she is still making art and is regarded as one of the foremost groundbreaking modern artists of recent years. There's a massive new exhibition of her work at The Tate Modern in London on at present. She has also done a marvelous job of preserving and enhancing John's legacy

Her art style is Avant Garde. And for many people, her experimental style still has not become fashionable. Yeah there is the small group of aristocrats who will pretend to see beauty where the common man can't. But it is a small group of people who will, for example, clap at Yoko's rendition of Fireworks by Katy Perry.

G'day Guys! Lennon just had so many great hits after the Beatles like Mind Games, Instant Karma, Working Class hero, Cold Turkey & of course Happy Xmas (the war is over) amongst so many more! Cheers!

Imagine is a track about an ideal world. Check out the more realist, “Working Class Hero”. To my mind Lennon’s greatest solo track. It reflects his working class roots and the struggles of working class people.

Make no mistake: I love it very much. And yet, the song has many detractors who say that it's potheaded, idealistic froth. Others say it's disgusting that someone so rich and famous should sing about having no possessions.

@@leehaslam5751 Do some homework before you blow your top. Google "John Lennon singing about having no possessions" and work through those links. He was WIDELY criticised for alleged hypocrisy. And in case you missed it, this is NOT my opinion. My opinion is that the work is a work of genius and a timeless classic. I am simply pointing out that there are people who dump on the song.

The Beatles officially broke up in April of 1970. "Imagine" was a solo effort by John Lennon, released in October 1971. But it's still considered a 'Beatle' song. You see John's second wife, Yoko Ono, in the video. His first wife, Cynthia, he married just before the Beatles came to fame...because she was pregnant. John and Cynthia had Julian. Yoko and John had miscarriages before finally having their son Sean. Paul had a very long relationship with the actress Jane Asher, then in the same year broke up, dated, and married photographer Linda Eastman (the rumor was she was related to the film company Eatman-Kodak, but that wasn't true). Paul and Linda had a mess of kids, then she died of cancer. He married model/amputee Heather Mills (really horrible choice), and now lives with wife Nancy Shevell. Ringo Starr (Starkey) originally married Maureen, with whom he had 3 boys. When Ringo went off to star in the 1981 film "Caveman", he met actress Barbara Bach. They married the year of the film's release. George met model Patty Boyd during the filming of "A Hard Day's Night"; you see them together in the dining car on the train into London. They married in 1966, divorced in 1977 (due to his 'indiscretions'). George's best friend, Eric Clapton, was in love with her and eventually he was able to marry Patty, though the marriage only lasted ten years (she is remarried now). George was married to Olivia from 1978 til his death in 2001. They have a son, Dhani, who is the spitting image of his father. George wrote "Something" for his wife Patty Boyd in 1969; Eric Clapton wrote "Layla" for Patty Boyd, released in 1970. When the Beatles broke up, John had already moved on to Yoko, Paul had moved on to Linda, Ringo was still with Maureen, and George was still with Patty. Linda McCartney, Maureen Starkey, and Patty Harrison were typical women of their time (and you can include John's ex Cynthia Lennon and Paul's ex Jane Asher in that group); they were quiet, more domestic (even Patty, Jane, and Linda, who had their own professional careers). Basically, these 'Beatle wives' were background characters; they saw the men as 'professional Beatles' they shared with the world. Yoko was a very different person than the other 'Beatle wives'. She was an internationally-known avante garde artist, used to doing artwork, films, and art-performance pieces. She was also Japanese, which brings in a cultural difference, though she broke past the usual cultural restrictions on Japanese women. The relationship between her and John was something unique to the two of them. It did make a break in the chemistry between John and Paul, but Ringo managed to stay close to John (and ALL the Beatles apparently, no mean feat). Whatever it was about Yoko, it fed something important in John, filled a space in him that no one else was able to fill. And the father he was never able to be to his first son, Julian, he was completely to his second son Sean, becoming a stay-at-home dad living in NYC until his death. People judge without evidence. I can't say whether Yoko was good for John or bad for the Beatles, because I wasn't there. So, I don't say anything at all. All I know is there is a lot of gossip about something that's actually none of my business.
