Shortly after the release of the album "Centerfield," John Fogerty was infamously sued for plagiarizing himself. Because of a falling-out he had with Fantasy Records owner Saul Zaentz, in order to get out of his Fantasy contract, Fogerty signed away the ownership rights to CCR's catalog; when he later released "Centerfield" for Warner Brothers, Zaentz alleged that "Old Man Down the Road" was too similar to "Run Through the Jungle". Fogerty was able to win the court case by bringing his guitar onto the witness stand and demonstrating that, while they do sound similar, they are two distinct compositions.

CCR has always been one of my favorites. John Fogerty has one of the most unique & recognizable voices around. His first solo album "The Blue Ridge Rangers" in 1973 had the hit "Jambalaya" & "Hearts Of Stone". His self-titled album "John Fogerty" in 1975 had the song "Rockin' All Over The World". His album "Centerfield" in 1985 has some great songs such as "Old Man Down The Road", "Rock & Roll Girls" & "Centerfield".

Yeah, with baseball season starting in a few months, definitely, Center field should be your next reaction to Fogerty.

Centerfield out in the 80s was very good. Also did a cover of Jambalaya by Hank Williams was incredible. Also you need to check out I PUT A SPELL ON YOU when John was with CCR. Magnificent cover by Screaming Jay Hawkins actually he told CCR they "owned the song" it was that good
