Em always been one of the best. He's still controversial. He's relentless. He's petty and funny as hell. He doesn't forget anything that's relevant. But unlike other rappers, he's adapted to the changes of time, or paved his own path. But what he does in the late 2010s and still through today has been a different level. He's tactical, methodical, a lyrical wordsmith prodigy. Not all his songs or beats are great..but in every song, whatever he's doing is still just an exercise in doing something great. Marshall is NEO. HE is HIM, he is The One..and if there is a "spoon or no spoon", it was Eminem's decision. Lol. RapGod..and he's over 50 years old... Been setting the tone and the pulse of rap for over 25+ years. Some of these younger, newer "trashcan" pop, mumble jumble rappers can't last 25 minutes.

That list of rappers that you listed at the beginning is sad as hell. It absolutely explains why nas said hip hop is dead years ago, because it was. My god please my g go down a rabbit hole even on your own of 90's early 20's rappers and get some real hip hop in your life. Nas, Em, Jay-z, BIG, Wu-tang, outkast, scarface, pac, bone, man to many to name. but this era of rap is so depressing it's crazy.

Thank you! These young cats are so brain washed from trash rap now bc these young rappers being promoted are all on drugs and uneducated so they have no talent. Just a hot beat and a viral tik tok clip. Shit is sad! He needs to listen to the song called “Syllables” to explain why young people do not know hip hop. Kendrick, J Cole, Big Sean and Joyner are probably the only lyricists left in this generation of retards. God help this generation🙏🏾

Exactly. Which is better is a matter of opinion and taste. Personally, the only Eminem that I haven't listened to as much or connected with as much is mid Eminem. I'm talking primarily about Relapse/Recovery, Kamikaze, and anything else that came out during that period from ~2006 to MTBMB. I've heard a fair number of tracks from those years in the past year and a half, but most of them just don't hit me personally the way the old stuff did or even Godzilla, GNAT, and Alfred's Theme do.

@@badweathergaming4929 True. I haven't met a "bad" Em song. There are a few, like Kim and Drips, that I personally don't like and refuse to listen to, but that's simply personal taste and not a comment on the songs themselves. In my case, I was in my teens/early 20s back when MMLP, TES, and Encore dropped, which are the formative years for developing my own distinct sense of musical identity rather than keeping with what your parents listen to. It's also the time of your life when events in your life will resonate with your core self the strongest and allow for the deepest memory formations possible. As for the modern/new Em stuff, most of what I have heard has actually had to grow on me a while before I can say I liked it. Godzilla was definitely that way, as was Rap God. It has been mostly listening to reactors here on YT reacting to it that has given me the deeper love and appreciation for the new Eminem songs. It helps also that as I approach 40, I can listen and understand things about his music (even the older stuff) that I would have been unable to 20 years ago, and I have a better ear for picking out his bars.

I’d recommend “Root Down”, “3 MC’s 1 DJ”, “Root Down”, “Intergalactic”, ”Paul Revere”, “The New Style” and “Too Many Rappers” (with Nas). They definitely are hip hop royalty and mist definitely inspired Eminem. 👍🔥

Em is a GOAT. Literally his brain sees words differently than most people. If he wants to tell a story, he will bend syllables to fit the rhyme all while not giving up any integrity to what he is really trying to say. He also love homophones (words that sound the same but have different meanings), but he takes it a step further but not just using words that sound the same, but also finding a sound he likes and then making his worlds fit that sound. A prime example in this song: “These chicks are spazzin' out, I only get more handsome and flier I got 'em passin' out like what you do, when you hand someone flyers.” He likes the way handsome and flier sounds so he literally creates the exact same sound using different words. Totally different meaning but completely the same sound. Here’s another example of Em genius: “Like a paraplegic, and it's scary, call it Harry Carry 'Cause every Tom and Dick and Harry Carry a Merriam motherfuckin' dictionary.” He uses the Harry Carry in different ways, but makes it sound like he says the name twice, even though he is saying something different. It’s an endless list of examples of what this man does with the English language. It’s almost as if he speaks a completely different language, and I guess in some ways he does.

  • @MrTwisted003

Personally when I hear something new, I'll listen to it all the way through the 1st time, as that's what was intended by the artist. I know this is hard to do for reaction channels due to copyright issues, and I respect the process. But after I've listened to it all the way through I run it back a few times to [try to] catch everything in it. And just to enjoy it. Then down the road, I'll start to look at it again, but only through reaction videos, for a few reasons. 1) Giving love to the reactors, 2) plus reactors may find things I missed or I just didn't get or understand due to my limited knowledge, 3) they also might have a different view or take on what I've experienced or even a different opinion based on their different life experiences, 4) and to see things I like/love through the eyes of others... I want to say almost as a validation that other people like and/or love the things I do and/or think of the things it made me think. I respect other people and their views and opinions and I feel I'm more grounded with the more range of people I view. As far as Eminem's skill, I believe he is getting better with age, as most men do, and is very true he has gotten a lot more technical over the years. I would say this is one of his best, but then he matches this or more every song I hear almost.

If you really want to know how talented and smart he is with his lyrics, rhyming and compound syllable structures you might want to watch a few newer reactions to Eminem by the reactor Flawd Tv. He has mastered his craft and even those who emeinem isn’t their cup of tea are mind blown by how he writes poetry with rap and breaks down his verses to the molecular level like a mad scientist. Em is too smart for the average listener so if you want to get educated, I suggest you watch Flawd.

Em gives you the Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster. The effect of which is like "having your brains smashed out by a slice of lemon wrapped round a large gold brick."😁

“On the road to 30k”, then immediately said, “in a couple days we should be at 20k”, then the next sentence was, “on the road to 100k”. Never taking directions from this man. 😂😂

bro, try to put the name of any song by Em and "rhyme scheme" here on yt and see how his songs are perfectly constructed. it'll be great to start with old Em and see his growth as a writer. i think lyrically his better now. both his latest álbuns (side a and b) are underrated and amazing. i think the only album i REALLY do not like is Encore, but it still has classics "like toy soldiers" and "mockingbird", and "mosh" is great. i'm so happy the youth is waking up to great rap! (try also jayz, nas, mobb deep, pac, biggie, big L, wu tang, the roots, a tribe called quest, the pharcyde, etc etc) but it'll be magical to follow you through Eminem rabbit hole.

Yo you should pull up lyrics on your phone and read them after you hear them, like each time you stop the music video… I believe that will make for better reaction… I would love to see a reaction to both the audible and the actual literature… Just thought that would be cool
