Lyrics
Maybe someday I'll be strong
Maybe it won't be long
I'll be the one who's tough
You'll be the one who's got it rough
It won't be long and
Maybe I'll be real strong
Maybe I'll do things right
Maybe I'll start tonight
You'll learn to cry like me
Baby let's just wait and see
Maybe I'll start tonight
And do things right
You'll control me
Oh so boldly
Rule me till I'm free
Till the pain that shakes me
Finally makes me
Get up off of my knees
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Maybe I'll be fast as you
Maybe I'll break hearts too
But I think that you'll slow down
When your turn to hurt comes around
Maybe I'll break hearts
And be as fast as you
Ahh
You'll control me
Oh so boldly
Rule me till I'm free
Till the pain that shakes me
Finally makes me
Get up off of my knees
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Maybe I'll be fast as you
Maybe I'll break hearts too
But I think that you'll slow down
When your turn to hurt comes around
Maybe I'll break hearts
And be as fast as you
Maybe I'll break hearts
And be as fast as you
Ahh suckie
Maybe someday I'll be strong
Maybe it won't be long
I'll be the one that's tough
You'll be the one who's got it rough
You're gonna learn to cry like me
Baby let's just wait and see
Yeah well maybe I'll be fast as you
Maybe I'll break hearts too

@@leesavick5885He's still alive & performing!
The funny thing about Dwight is that he doesn't define his sound as 'country'. He started out in Nashville TN but moved to LA in the early 80's and began playing in punk rock venues in California alongside such bands as Green Day. He calls his style of music 'cowpunk'.

His idols Buck Owen's and Elvis Presley, shows with the music and moves
This metalhead loves Dwight. Fun fact;. He is also an actor. He played the bad guy in "Sling blade".
By far the loudest country concert I’ve ever been to. Such a great entertainer and songwriter.
Dwight's style is more rockabilly than just country. Been a big fan for years. Quick little fact is that he played the drunkard boyfriend in the movie Slingblade starring Billy Bob Thornton.
Dwight was hugely influential on the 'no depression' era of bands that formed at the beginning of the 90s. He took the Bakersfield sound and added rock to it. Steve Earle also very influential on that movement.
Pete Anderson is a huge part of Dwight's sound, production and guitar.
I have to admit that I'm a Metalhead through and through, But I love Dwight Yoakom he made country music cool. He's awesome!!
"Buenos noches from a lonely room" is another great song from Dwight
His "1,000 Miles from Nowhere" is amazing. The song, the video. Amazing.
Little known fact... it took an army of roadies to get him in and out of those jeans! As a Bakersfield native, gotta love Dwight. And Buck and Merle. All influential to so many musicians, even outside of country.
SUSPICIOUS MIND is one of the best songs by Dwight and it's another Elvis Presley song....
Dwight is incredible. Seen him live about 12 years ago, amazing.
Honey... you are beautiful 😍 This is music of my childhood my aunt loves Dwight Yoakam and I could never understand why till i got older.
😆 I despise line dancing! But I've always loved country music, and Dwight Yoakam is THE MAN!
I've only bought 2 Country CD's in my life and Dwight was one of hem. This Metal Head loves Dwight

Then theres hope for ya yet. Jim
Travis needs to rewatch this just to see Suzi's expressions.
He revitalized the Bakersfield sound along with Buck Owens, he's a fantastic artist, and if that isn't enough, watch him in Sling Blade!

Travis looking a little stunned
Lol, He even made this woman studder lol Definitely, one of my favorite singers and yes, a cowboy hat can make a man instantly hot.
He said “ Sookie “ 🤣🤣
Dwight is fantastic!! Also he’s admitted many times in interviews he is a huge Elvis fan! So he’s often stylized himself that way.
I've been a rock guy though the 80s to present. I'm from Tennessee....lol....so it weird. This is the first country singer that really caught my attention. Well maybe Kenny Rogers when my mom listened to him. He is the s$!t till this day as far as I'm concerned.
Dwight also has a brief appearance in "Wedding Crashers"
Ya'll should take a listen to "1000 Miles From Nowhere". Not just the best Yoakum song. One of the best songs ever. Twin guitars at the end just kill it. Lyrics are outstanding

Feel good music. He gets you moving whether you like it or not. And he also has his own genre. ✌️
This song is about his dating Sharon Stone. I think she ticked him off a little, don’t you? I love this song and him. He’s one of my late Dad’s all time favorite. He loved Guitars and Cadillacs by Dwight. It’s a good one. One of my faves is Nothing by him. Worth a listen. You won’t be disappointed by either of these.
Great country singer, great songwriter, great actor. One of my all-time favorites.
"You" is Sharon Stone. He's singing about her.
I’m going to see him in concert tonight actually! Lol Nobody wore his jeans tighter than Dwight- skinny jeans before skinny jeans.
AH... The what-it-is-ness of Dwight Yoakam. Can't beat it! Try his version of "Suspicious Minds." You won't be disappointed!
❤ his smile 👏👏👏👏😂
I love Seeing Reaction Videos to Dwight Yoakam songs
Dwight plays the crazy stocking mask robber dude In the movie "Saferoom". His face is never shown, that I remember.
You 2 are adorable my 1st time here because of him. I'm now a subscriber
oh my damn.. he sure knows how to wear those jeans... painted on yessss.. had to edit.. this is when the sexy cowboy came into existence.. hot damn!
This is real country the shit know is pop country we call this outlaw country only kind I like am I a metal head grew up on this very cool
You’re sooo cute ‘what’s going on behind that guitar’ (under garments) you two had so much fun with this one:) loved your reaction
Literally lol..when she was talking about the guitar
Travis you're so right, I went to see him in 93 and we were all throwing our undergarments on stage. 🤣

He was the first country artist on mtv when they played music spring break 96 i think
Dwight has worn the same exact cowboy hat for decades. I vaguely remember hearing him talk about it on a late night show. I have no clue how he keeps it so clean throughout the years.
@TheHatchetwoman

He actually takes his hat in regularly to get it cleaned and re-blocked; however, he mentioned about 10 years ago that his hat ripped (after 23 years or so), and he had to get a new one.
KZread : *Dwight Yoakam ..... little sister ........ rare .......w eddy shaver*
You should hear this song playing with Keith urban and brothers Osborne that is AWESOME!
Saw him play here at the Surf Ballroom a few years ago and he was still Great!! Great actor too:)
You two crack me up!! undergarments........LOL!!
"Ah, Sookie"! I got to stand about 8 feet from those hot legs at Cheyenne Frontier Days back in the day.

Saw him back when he was on tour for the Gone album back in '96. He came to Michigan and put on a GREAT show.
Melted down and poured into those jeans 🧐
Love Dwight
Awesome couple! Love the lip color
Love Dwight 🎉🎉🎉
she's excited
Dwight was known as the Hunk of Cow Punk and the Chick dig him.
Dwight has some great music; however, he also has several movies under his belt. "Sling Blade' with Billy Bob Thornton is probably his best roll. (And he said 'Awe Sucker LOL) He dated Sharon Stone years ago & she said kissing him was like kissing a dirt sandwich. LOL Sounds pretty mean to me.
1984 kids, Dwight hit the air-waves. He played in Hollywierd, CA. At Hard Rock clubs in 1980s
Those are Chuck Berry moves.
He was probably the sexiest C&W singer of all time. I saw him a couple of times and all of us were losing our damn minds. Talent AND sexy is a great combination. Look for him in Panic Room.
'what'd he say??' lol, that's country for calling a cow to the trough. Here sooki sooki
Oh Suki Good thing he has a cowboy hat also.
What do you say about Dwight? Greatness! Swaggggg! His video and cover of: Suspicious Minds ….A Must!
Brother, she's turn't up and it ain't because of you!
Yes the Ladies love him!!! Under that hat he's bald a a cue ball.
That's how you rock some jeans
Awesome. Love this video.. Do more, please?
Yee haw!
KY boy has been killin' it for decades!!
Funny you mentioned Elvis. He does a great version of Suspicious Minds. Need to watch. Also, a little tid bit here. Those jeans are in the Country Music Hall of Fame along with one of his Rhinestone jackets. Dwight is a little guy. The jeans are a 28 inch waist.

He also does little sister
I thought I was the only one to see the influence from Elvis in this.
He has a bit of the spirit of Elvis in his performances.
When Dwight would finish recording a song he would immediately put it on a tape, put the tape in his corvette which had a massive sound system in it, crank the volume and drive as fast as possible. If the song didn’t sound good in that setting, the song didn’t make the album. Great way to choose tracks.
My sister had a huge crush on him. She actually met him when he was performing at Gilley's in Pasadena, Texas way back when. He autographed a dollar bill and folded it into a ring before giving it to her. Of course he also got a little touchy feely from what I understand.
D.Y. is a great actor also!..from Wyoming USA 🇺🇸 🤠
Yeah he has the guitar up there to fight the women from coming on stage hah ha ha.
Throw your pantaloons! LOL
You might have the same effect if you had on the tight jeans and did moves like Dwight!!! Lol!!! That’s what made me swoon!!!
He was an Elvis fan...covered several of Presley's hits including 'Little Sister', 'Suspicious Minds' and 'Goodtime Charlie has got the Blues'.
You should check out his song "A Thousand Miles From Nowhere" as well as his cover of "Suspicious Minds".
You guys are funny, hahaha
SRV VIBES💯🔥
Check out Dwigth Yoakam Long white cadilac😎
Awesome song yay 🤘😆🤘🎸🎸🤠👌🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
King of Honky tonk
Wasn’t nothing like tight jeans and Dwight can’t forget those moves❤❤❤❤❤
I feel like having a cigarette now...🫣😏🥴
Bodyguards? Maybe security should've been tight at a Dwight Yoakam concert...but nothing is tighter than his jeans.
Great!!!! try to rect to ''Honky Tonk Man'' ''Guitars and Cadillacs'' or my favourite ''Little Sister''
🤠❤🤠 Ya'll are too cute! Yes Travis, by all means get a cowboy hat!!!
His song Things Change is a good one. Underated.
He's a big elvis fan, he did his version of Suspicious Minds and nailed it, y'all need to do a reaction video to it.
The perfector of skinny jeans...,Dwight
Another interesting video of Dwight’s is Turn it on, Turn it up, Turn me loose. Little Sister is a classic too. If you’re interested in great Line Dancing songs then might I suggest ‘Bootscootin’ Boogie’ and ‘Beer Thirty’ by Brooks and Dunn.
Most dangerous hips since Elvis so it's said.
if you want to know what he looks like without the hat, watch slingblade with billy bob thornton. he plays the abusive boyfriend that gets whacked with the slingblade
He covers several Elvis songs!
I feel like DY is what you get when Tom Petty goes country, probably just me.
Don't take your girl to a Dwight Yoakam concert lol

Best cover artist in da Business. Check out 1997 Under the Covers. Fantastic record. This is his Pete Anderson Produced period.
Bakersfield beat a very unique sound for singing
He actually sang Elvis songs...so yea maybe some moves came from there.
You mentioned trouble... that's a song you need to do...."T.R.O.U.B.L.E." by Randy Travis.
