Thank you for discovering Dimash and welcome to a beautiful world of music. Dimash is a 29-years old singer from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 7,7 octaves (vocal fry C1 (B0) - whistle D8 off the piano). That means he hits notes in almost 8 octaves and sings consistently in 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly😅). At least what he has shown us so far. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. Mainly classic and pop, so he created a new crossover genre. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. The latest songs (from Tokyo Jazz Festival in November 2021) are Ikanaide in Japanese and at his concert in Almaty on September 23, 2022 he sang a new song in Spanish (about 7 languages in one concert!). And at his concert in Yerevan on April 29, 2023, he sang an Armenian folk song for the first time (it has to be about 15 languages so far). He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He is managed by his father Kanat, who founded his own company "DimashAli Creative Center". The logo can be seen at the beginning of many of Dimash's videos. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. He doesn’t want to be dictated by money when he has to sing what, when, where and how. Many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, respectful and humble person. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and interviews. During his concerts in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Prague in 2022, before he performed his song War And Peace, he told the audience he loves all people in every country. And there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And I absolutely believe this. His concert in September 23, 2022 was in his hometown Almaty, it was so amazing and it lasts almost 4 hours. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, you realize you are so wrong. He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to constantly improve his vocal skills. He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Don't be surprised if you get suggestions for songs you may have already seen. Dimash has different versions of many of the same songs. They are all worth seeing. HIGHLY recommend your next stop be the performance that really started it all as far as Dimash's worldwide fan base. 2017 SOS performance from the annual Chinese talent competition (I Am Singer) of professional singers from different genres by invitation only competing for Chinese Singer of the Year. Dimash was a wild card special invitee. He was the First ever non-Chinese Singer ever to be invited. At 22 yo at the start of the 14 week event, he was also the youngest ever contestant. A virtual unknown to the Chinese audience, judges and fellow contestants, Dimash was requested to OPEN the annual show as first artist. He chose what is considered one of the five most difficult French songs to sing...SOS. He brought with him credentials of winning every international singing competition he had entered up to that point. As a virtual unknown came rhe request to open the show as it was anticipated that he might not last deep into the competition. After singing SOS in French to his Mandarin speaking audience, the resulting sensation required that the show provide Dimash with bodyguards. Ultimately, SOS became his signature song. There are popular more recent versions (which u could review later) but it's important you know the beginning. Also, highly request u search Dimash SOS 2017 I Am Singer and choose the LONGER video which gives an intro to Dimash and lead in AND gives English subtitles. You will be glad you did. This masterpiece is just a drop in the ocean, and it isn't in any way representative. It isn't even representative of his voice. It just displays one of many incredible things that he can do with it. Of his many other masterpieces, none are anything like this and in all of them he makes use of vocal colours, techniques and ranges that are not to be found here. As you will no doubt soon find out, he is just as comfortable singing bass, baritone and tenor ranges, and in all of those alternative ranges the quality of his voice is no less magnificent!

At this event, he performed two other songs. stranger, which is like a fantasy film score. It’s in English. Then Fly Away which is a pop song. So three different genres. Dimash has mastered them all.

God has definitely gifted him with talent, but he also has 20+ years of training too. And he trains his gift everyday. Most people start with the song SOS, but I've seen a few new reactors start with this one, too. But dont be fooled, just because he only hit high notes here. He also has a well developed lower register, too.

Dimash is completely into the song (into the prayer), he IS archangel Gabriel foretelling Maria she will be the mother of the son of God ... the song begins with the softness and tenderness to calm her down, not to be afraid of his amazing presence, then he proceeds to announce God's will (The Annunciation), that she will conceive his son, and unleashes all the power of his voice, his arms move like and angel's wings, and he goes to an overwhelming finale with the sadness of her child's destiny...

A bit of an unusual choice for a first reaction--perhaps not the best to get a full idea of what Dimash is capable of in range, vocal production and musical style. But you can certainly see the magic of his performances here. I think perhaps Stranger would be a good next piece to listen to--he accesses his full range and uses a lot of different vocal styles too. It is also sung in English. It was written by Igor Krutoy, the same composer who wrote this one (both written specifically for Dimash) and was performed at the same concert. Operatic, pop, (he sometimes calls what he sings "poppera") ethnic, rap...from low to high notes...he has so many different techniques and vocal styles available to him that he can choose exactly what he wants to create the music he envisions--every piece of his has something special and different to offer.

You are so right...when you get to know Dimash with his divine voice and genius musical skills...all the other music you got to know crumbles to little pieces.😅 To fully get to know this gem, you have to go along his magical way of any musical genre being flabbergasted by every new masterpiece he is capable to create. On the other hand, he is a fantastic human being...althoug seen as a musical master and an ambassador for peace and unity in this world shining like bright beaken, he stays humble and so down to earth. Enjoy your trip and pick your choice...you will not be disappointed! ❤
