Some are live shows… this recording is a live show…the music is… but the video might be a compilation of other shows… there was a lot of that… also some seemingly live shows are studio recordings .. it’s a mix of all that

Billy idol got more pussy than any other man in history.. probably… he used to have orgies with with a dozen women.. every night.. and he was the only man.. reportedly… I don’t doubt it either..
One of the songs that shaped my personality. I was actually ashamed that I liked it so much, but then I found like minded peeps and we cried MORE MORE MORE!

Funnily enough, the song is about falling in love with a prostitute and being unable to stop himself from coming back.

Saw him in 84’. Love Billy Idol. Still can’t get enough. Best generation of music.
1983 was good year for Billy Idol. This whole album is great.
Punk Rock meets 1980's Pop Music, blend them together, add an amazing lead singer such as Billy Idol and you get this awesome song. It'll hard to duplicate and even harder to surpass it....LONG LIVE THE 80'S.

Best description I have heard to date.
I just saw Billy last Wednesday in Baltimore. He played at Ramshead. He still sounds great. His band was on fire. Sold out crowd after all these years. Thanks for sharing.

That is Awesome to hear.
Billy Idol got the title for this song from the Rebel Yell brand of bourbon whiskey, which has been around since 1936. On an episode of VH1 Storytellers, Idol explained that he was at an event at Ron Wood's place in New York City where Wood and his fellow Rolling Stones Mick Jagger and Keith Richards were taking swigs of Rebel Yell straight from the bottle. This gave him the idea for the title, and he wrote the song around it.
Guitarists name is Steve Stevens... Search KZread for him and listen to some of his more recent solo stuff and more recent shows will BIlly Idol... Amazing guitarist... They still sound fantastic considering they might be as old as your grandparents.. Stevens also played Guitar on Michael Jacksons "Dirty Diana"
I'm very lucky to have seen Billy Idol in Dublin in the 90s... He was absolutely amazing x
I listened to this soooo many times when i was a teen 😂
Yes. More Billy Idol. Incredible stuff. Often overlooked and underrated today.
Steve Stevens, the guitar player, also played on Michael Jackson's Beat it.

Steve only did Dirty Diana with Michael. Eddie Van Halen and Steve Lukather were on Beat It
Definitely sub. More Billy please. White Wedding was before this song. Eyes Without a Face was his first top 10 US smash and Mony Mony was his first and only song that top the US charts. Thank you for this reaction.🙏🏼
Billy Idol is the man!! I have a few of his albums on record very good stuff! Steve Stevens is the guitarist by the way he is amazing!! this song is the title track of the album "Rebel Yell" which is a dope album imo some other good songs on this album are "Flesh for Fantasy" "Eyes without a Face" "Catch my fall" and "Daytime Drama" hell the whole album is 🔥 have fun diving into this artist he's an 80s legend
Guitarist is Steve Stevens, great underrated muso, always with billy xxx
Steve Stevens is the guitar hero who could absolutely crush it with the best of anyone then or now.
I've heard that in this case, the band recruited several busloads of fans to do a live show for, to be filmed for the video, which was then edited to fit the album version of the song. So it's both live and not live. This is what Billy Idol's shows looked like, but it sounds more polished than it would have in real life. "Rebel Yell" was released in 1983. Back then, music videos were new and relatively rare, and filming a live show was the easiest way to do one. Later 80s videos could get pretty inventive.

Good answer; I knew it was staged, but I didn’t know it was edited to fit track.
Another great Billy Idol song/video is "Flesh For Fantasy" and "Eyes Without A Face". Both are really cool songs. The whole Rebel Yell album is awesome.
Guitarist is Steve Stevens grammy winner for top gun anthem and knowing from colab Dirty Diana with Michael Jackson
Can't go wrong with any of his stuff. Plus, he did a duet of this song with Miley Cyrus and it's pretty bloody good!
Ahhhh the good old days! 😅 I went to quite a few concerts then. Sooo much fun! Great reaction, love this blast from the past!
I am 66 yrs old and I still love it.
This song is from december 83 and today he had 67 and still kick ass. Today drop new teaser video from concert at Hoover dam.
If you want mo, mo, mo Billy Idol, I'd recommend "Dancin' with Myself" "White Wedding" "Eyes without a Face" and "Mony Mony" a remix of a 1968 single by Tommy James.
1983 was the year i was 13 yrs so am 54 now and i still love it, reaction to Billy Idol Moni Moni it was the boom
Guitarist: Steve Stevens. Won the Grammy in 1986 for the Top Gun theme and Michael Jackson requested him for Dirty Diana, check out that video. He’s one of the top 10 1980s rock guitarists, universally liked and respected. For a change of pace but equally epic song check out the official video for Bjork “Play Dead”
This is the studio recording playing over some concert footage.
This came out the year I turned 13 and I absolutely fell in love with his music and have been a fan ever since
A "rebel yell" was a Confederate battle cry during the American Civil War, and Rebel Yell bourbon (made in Kentucky) shows a soldier on a horse charging into battle. Billy Idol, who is British, knew a bit about the war, but didn't want that to be the topic of the song, so he changed the meaning to be "a female cry of love." The song is about a passionate one-night stand with a woman who wants "more more more."
Was the lead singer for Generation X from 76-81. I think that is where our generation got the Gen X title. I was raised in a diverse musical household so I got to start listening to Gen X at 10. Was my direct path to stuff like Black Flag, Circle Jerks, Suicidal Tendencies, Jodie Foster's Army, Minor Threat. I know it was my generation but after looking at other generations, I will die on the hill that Gen X had the best music of all time.
Idol is a Rebel...Great rocker, entertainer, love him...sexy beastie...Def ramps you up...Still wears same swag, still a Rebel, still sexy, ladies still love him... He's now over 60, but if you think he's going to stop rocking any time before he's literally forced to by Death himself, No way, and Im almost 60 and forever fan..Thanx so much, Peace
this was live, you can hear the audience singing along
all genres is love my guy. chief keef is my fav rapper the last 13+ years. yet here i am :) this song is amazing. also "billy idol - white wedding" or "billy idol - dancing with myself" salute
The artists and directors of music videos of that era really liked concert type videos. Some of them were actually made from footage taken at live concerts, however, some, I'd even say most of them, were studio videos that were made to look like they were taking place at a concert. The best way to tell is to look at the audience itself. if you see a massive amount of fans, like AC/DC at river plate, for example, you are clearly watching a live concert. An audience of only a few hundred people are so typically indicates a studio simulation.
Crank Call is also a great song off this album and a song i never see mentioned, and couldve been a hit too if it had the airplay. The whole album is his best work imo.
My generation, thank you for bringing the 80’s back , do a check on the one hit wonders of the 80’s is tone of them good music. Boricua 🇵🇷
He was MTV and really was one of the faces of that Channel.
He was my favorite in the 80's
from what i know this video was live. some of the people who were in it i saw comments from another chat on here. they said they had been drinking earlier to get everyone all hyped up for the video etc. i think it was done in nj somewhere. Steve Stevens is the Great GOD on guitar for Billy idol!! i got to see them this year and last and both still amazing!! i highly recommend Billy's other albums and his new stuff.
My idol BILLY 😍
Guitarist is Steve Stevenson an they ate still touring in 2023,2024.they still rock!!
40 years ago, seems like yesterday ! 😉🤩✊👊💪✌️🤙🤙
my favorite mainstream 80s singer. Billy is the shit sir!
Even though this was filmed as a video and not in front of a live audience, Mony Mony was live. It will give you an adrenaline rush especially with Steve Stevens playing guitar.
I'm from Texas and can tell you that the rebel yell is either YEEEEHAA or YEEEEHOO, as you prefer.
Idol in 84 in Toronto was awesome - never lost his powers neither did Stevens - those who were there understand!
Guitarist name is Stevie Stevens 😊
Guitar player is Steven Stephens from newyork . It came out 1983
I've been listening to alot of funk lately and came across 1 of the best live performances I've ever seen in my life! The song is called Inside looking out(Live 1969) by Grand Funk Railroad! You should check it out! It will take you for a ride and show you what real musicians are!
Billy Idol 1984 -Guitarist is Steve Stevens
I believe that song was relased in 1983 and the name of the guitar player is Steve Stevens.
This song came out in 1983-ish, I think. Idol's songs "Dancing with Myself" (which I think is the song that put him in the mainstream) and "Mony, Mony" are also worth checking out. And "White Wedding." Here are some other recommendations for you: I see you already watched Van Halen's "Hot for Teacher." "Panama" and "Jump" are also good Van Halen songs from that era. You really should listen to some Queen. Freddie Mercury was arguably the best male vocalist of the 1980s, and their harmonizing is operatic. (Recommended: "Bohemian Rhapsody, " "Killer Queen," "Somebody to Love") And if you want to listen to the absolute best female rock vocalist of all time (a fact nobody will argue), allow me to introduce you to Heart (with sisters Ann Wilson, lead vocalist, and Nancy Wilson, guitar and backup vocals). Recommended: "Barracuda," "Magic Man," "Crazy on You," and their live cover tribute to Led Zeppelin, "Stairway to Heaven," is a tear-jerking must-see. Also, check out what is probably the most underrated band of the 1980s: Foreigner. "I Want To Know What Love Is," "Feels like the First Time" and "Hot Blooded" would be my top pics for that band.
The guitarist is Steve Stevens, a total shredder.
Dropped in 1982 and the genre is punk new wave
Yes yes yes live alwaysx
Yes, most of the vids back then were just live concerts that got caught on tape..bands toured more to promote themselves back then, (No internet) we're talking half-the-year tours, so bands would get tighter and tighter-It'd be inevitable to not get a good film of them doing thier best hits on any given night.
I seen you just uploaded 4 videos back to back to back and that's cool I get it but here's where the problem of doing it that way, only one of those videos popped up in my notifications but on the other hand when you drop one video at a time I get every notification.. Just letting you know what I've noticed it's on you what to do with that info I'm just trying to help you out.. Have a good one homie ✌
You should check out Billy Idol's Mony, Mony. That video is pure energy and the guitarist is wild! Really fun video, though Billy Idol is always fun.
The guitar player for billy idol was stevie stevens
1983 bro! A good time to be alive
Steve Stevens... A total badass.
Steve Stevens is the guitar player. He's great
Another guitarist to check out is David Gilmour of Pink Floyd. Take a look at their live recording of “Comfortably Numb” from their Pulse Tour in 1994. You’ll come away amazed at what may be the finest guitar solo ever.
Billy Idol was one of the first people I thought was cool as a little kid in the 80s.
The guitarist is Steve Stevens he played guitar on Michael Jackson's dirty diana
Go Big Red!
I grew up on bands like Billy Idol, Van Halen, Iron Maiden, Rush, etc... if you like live and guitar bad ass, I recommend you check out an all female Japanese rock and roll band that is taking the world by storm, check out Band-Maid and the official live video "Domination". They dress like maids and sing in a mix of mostly Japanese but some English, but they rock out hard.
Billy Idol and Steve Stevens 80's Check Them Out NOW!! Both are Still ALIVE and Still JAMMING KZread Billy idol and Steve Stevens
I listened to this back in high school at the age 13 back in the early 80's cool era💯👏 guitar Steve Stevens American, the drummer Tommy prince. You need to play mony mony by billy idol

Let's see...this was released the year I headed back to Ft. Lauderdale from NY, partied with Don Johnson, Mickey Mantle, Joe Namath, The Pointer Sisters...yeah. It was that year.
Great reaction. Now realize it was your Grandparents in the audience
You haven’t covered one of the most advanced group of musicians the rock world has ever known. RUSH is a prog rock power trio with one of the best guitar players, an amazing bass guitarist and the world’s best drummer. You’ll think there’s 8 musicians on stage. The lead singer’s voice is unique and he also plays the bass, keyboard and even uses his feet to play a synthesizer. They have numerous amazing songs but, you should start slow and watch the live version of Xanadu. Btw, both guitarists use double-neck guitars. The drummer has been called “The Professor “ by his peers and has also been described as “your favourite drummer’s favourite drummer”. Their following is literally world wide.
Billy idol first heard rebel yell ..from the rolling stones They were drinking bourbon and a rebel yell drink...at a pool in the hotel...Billy wrote a song about rebel yell. Thanks to the rolling stones in the USA at that time .
seen him live. the same. guitarist is steve smith.
OMG this takes me back! He is or was so hot. He came to New Zealand and I met him at a record signing and I have a photo of him kissing me...... Those were the times!

You’re reacting to the video like we all did back in the 80s when good videos aired on MTV. Although there might have been more dancing around the room.
