Look at the catalog of songs they wrote and who sang them, and you'll see that their music, even if they didn't sing them, were chart toppers. This music just never gets old, it only gets better. All of the Bee Gees music is beyond the best! Sir Barry is still very much "Stayin Alive." He is the only one left. If something happens to Sir Barry, it will be a very hard time for all the Bee Gee fans. I wish that we could all live forever.

The most perfect love song ever. The 3 brothrs wrote the music, the poetry of the lyrics, the arrangement and sang the song. This was done in 1978 way before autotune. Their voices are natural and the harmonizing is natural as they have been singing together since they were children. Barry is the one with the voice that can hit those high notes. Maurice and Robin are fraternal twins and are 3 years younger than Barry. They have been recording since 1959 and write all of their own songs, play instruments and sing them. They have also written songs for other artists like Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, Dionne Warwick, Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton and others. Robin and Maurice are both dead now and Barry is still recording and touring with his son Stephen and with Maurice's daughter, Samantha, who is a singer. Barry is still writing songs and producing records for other artists and mentoring younger artists and has been in the music business now for 64 years.

The Bee Gees are Barry, Robin, & Maurice Gibb. Yes, all brothers! Karltin, they have one of the largest catalogs of music out there. Hit after hit. They were asked to write the sound track for "Saturday Night Fever" which defined the disco Era of the 70's. They also have a little brother named Andy Gibb who sang solo. He sounds just like them but died at the age of 30. "I Just Wanna Be Your Everything" & "Shadow Dancing" were huge. Sadly, Barry (the one you like) is the only surviving brother. But, there music is a favorite of all generations. Wait til you hear their disco tracks. Bangers. - Staying Alive - How Deep Is Your Love - Night Fever .......these are musts - your subs will guide you through more amazing ones like "How Do You Mend A Broken Heart". Enjoy discovering this phenomenal band. I'm JEALOUS you get to hear them for the first time.

I saw a video clip where Robin said the movie was already completed. The producer and director felt the movie needed a different flavor of music. They originally had the songs of Stevie Wonder and Boz Skaggs. In walks the Bee Gees. They wrote 5 songs for the movie (maybe 6) and after the songs were given to the producers, they had no say about which songs to use for what scenes. The white suit that John Travolta wore in the movie 'Saturday Night Live' was sold for $145,000.

Bee Gees first TV gig: Teenage Barry Gibb and 10-year-old twins Robin and Maurice (pronounced Morris) sing in 1960. They were born in Britain and moved to Australia after youngest brother, Andy, was born. Bee Gees a play on their last name: Brothers Gibb. Fabulous voices with great harmonies!! Barry, the eldest, emerged as one of the era's sex symbols. His gold chain, mane of long hair and open-necked shirts became part of his trademark look. 👀 Gibb also worked with other artists, including Kenny Rogers and Barbra Streisand. He wrote "Islands in the Stream" for Kenny who sang it with the very talented Dolly Parton. You should react to them pairing up for a most awesome iconic duet! Barry in the middle leads this one.

@@dubzer0649 - No offense to him but, to differ with darrylhanes, Barry is NOT "the lead singer" of the group although he WAS in this song (which is likely what he meant) and @ 50% of their songs. Too many people say that and it's unfair to the other two. All three were great singers. Notice both of the twins, Robin (on left) and Maurice (on right), are also singing falsetto. Quite often Barry and Robin shared the lead, singing alternate parts in the same songs and Maurice occasionally sang lead as well. For my money, Robin had the best voice of the three and that's simply my opinion but together they were magical. The Bee Gees were three - period! Barry told Robin "Nobody can sing like you do"! Maurice was the musician and arranger, Robin was often the lyricist and all three wrote their songs together and they wrote for other stars like Barbra Streisand, Diana Ross, Kenny Rogers, Celine Dion and Dionne Warwick. A lot of people just assume Barry was the Bee Gees but having followed them since the 1960's, they never would have made it without all three together with their beautiful voices and exquisite harmonies and cooperative songwriting. RIP Rob and Mo. Gone too young. :(

Suzie Q, just caught up to you and, as usual, I couldn't have said it any better. I definitely think that's why we try and steer a new reactor to their older songs right away because, with the disco era picks that most reactors start with, they all assume that Barry is the lead singer and Rob and Mo are just his backups. We both feel the need to straighten them out early on and I'm game if you are!

@@lauriebarnes2999 - I'm with you. Some praise for Barry is fine but not when it ignores Mo and Rob. I think about 80% of their fans jumped on the bandwagon during the "disco" era (because they're not old like me) and that's all they know. If so they are missing out. The evolution, the journey of the brothers Gibb is if possible better than the final destination.

@@susieq9801 You're right about not making it on their own. Remember when Robin left the group for about 18 months in the late 60s? When they reunited, they realized in order to be successful, all 3 were needed. I believe that is when they wrote the song 'How Can You Mend A Broken Heart.'

All Bee Gee’s songs are wonderful. Barry, Robin and Maurice. Only Barry is alive. The greatest songwriters, music and lyrics we will ever see. Barry is the falsetto voice and Robin is the beautiful vibrato. They sang 3 part harmony since ages 9 and 6. Barry was born in 1946 and Robin and Maurice were born in 1949 as fraternal twins. I grew up listening to the Bee Gees, & you have no idea how happy it makes me, to see the younger generation discover the music we fell in love with !!! All three brothers had amazing falsetto's, however, Barry Gibb, in my opinion, has the most unique falsetto, because in his falsetto, he also used his vibrato, which is rare! They were brothers, & Barry is the last one, but please review more of their music, you will not be disappointed. They span over many decades, & crossed quite a few genres. I believe, that if there is music in Heaven, it would sound like the Bee Gee's ❤️❤️

The were a music group formed in 1958, featuring brothers Barry, Robin, and Maurice Gibb. The trio were especially successful as a popular music act in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and later as prominent performers of the disco music era in the mid-to-late 1970s. The group sang recognisable three-part tight harmonies; Robin's clear vibrato lead vocals were a hallmark of their earlier hits, while Barry's R&B falsetto became their signature sound during the mid-to-late 1970s and 1980s. The Bee Gees wrote all of their own hits, as well as writing and producing several major hits for other artists.

Suggestions for more songs from this time frame - More than a Woman, Love You Inside Out, Fanny Be Tender With My Love, Love So Right (although they wrote and performed songs from the early 60's until 2003, when one of the twins, Maurice, passed away) You will eventually want to explore the music of all decades. They adapted to the times, and there are noticeable differences in the music from the different eras. To me, all of them are enjoyable.

They bought their own recording studio and continued to put out great music for many more years. Many people are just now discovering music from those more challenging years when disco came out of favor, now that we don’t need to depend on the radio stations.
