Beastie Boys taking over KZread in 2021 is not something I was expecting, but I'm loving it. Much respect to them. They are icons and legends. As a fellow NYer and Brooklynite, Beastie Boys hold a special place for us.

Heart Attack Man is a whole different side of the Beastie Boys. They truly began as a punk band and became hip hop royalty.

Rick Rubin was producing both the Beastie Boys' License To Ill and Slayer's Reign in Blood (Studio Playlist: kzread.info/head/OLAK5uy_keU_xMz-Pu0JPZ1aYA08OTLIZgBaYSLWg ) albums at the same time. They were splitting time at same studio. Def Jam dropped the two albums about a month from one another.

Run DMC opened the door in the Summer of 86 with Raising Hell, and 6 months later Beastie Boys busted the door down with License to Ill. This album changed Hip Hop forever. It brought white boys into hip hop and that meant MTV and big money followed. Music hasnt been the same since in this genre. This song, on the right system will seriously POUND. Fight for your right to party was a smash, but check out "Its the new style." Front to back, it is a bad ass album. And honestly, Ill say you are bullshitting us with its my first time hearing it. That would be like a rocker saying theyve never heard Led Zepplin...lol Cheers bro!

Beastie Boys - "Brass Monkey". It's such an awesome song but close your eyes when you hear it. The only video I've ever found of it is 4 kids dancing around trying to lip sync to it (poorly). The video is distracting but the song kicks ass! =)
