i really like reactors like you who actively tries to understand what the artist is talking about so don’t apologize for pausing "too much" bc as a agust d stan (and army) i know that sometimes that is necessary to understand what yoongi means and what he wants to deliver with his lyrics and voice. thank you for giving him a opportunity!!

Agree! You really paid attention to the lyrics, beats, flow, video….Thank you!
Welcome. :) You'll find that BTS is known for speaking out against corruption and injustice. Some of their songs as rookies in 2013/14/15 are extremely political; they've never been afraid to speak their minds even when a lot of artists/entertainers were being black-balled in Korea for criticizing the government. A few of them are "Baepsae", "Am I Wrong?", and "N.O."

Yup “Am I wrong” where they basically crawl on the ground like “pigs and dogs” because controversy leaked audio of korean congressmen calling korean citizens “pigs and dogs” so bts put pigs in dogs in the lyrics and crawl like a pig and dog in the choreography
Yoongi (AgustD) is a literal genius. He writes and produces for himself, for BTS and for other top artists. He’s extremely versatile. I recommend you check out the trilogy that this video fits into. The first video is Daechwita, then Hageum and finally Amygdala. It all comes from him. He even did the storyboards for the videos.
Suga is well protected don’t worry He has an entire Army behind him 💜

Fun Fact: Agust D became the first rapper in history to sell 1Million copies of a rap album on its first day with "D-Day" which Haegeum is on.
In Korea they don't let the artists say bad words in the TV, social issues are ok, of course it can have consequences, like in any part of the world, but BTS have never restricted their work for it. They have been talking about social issues since the beginning! A lot of hate, but a lot of love too and that's why they are who they are nowadays.

Hmmm. Public image is VERY important so while an actor can swear in a drama playing a part, in real life the actor would need to be more circumspect on most TV stations.
Min, Yoon-gi is his birth name, SUGA is his stage name with BTS, and AGUST D is his name for his solo projects. If you ask him, he will say he answers to all three, Yoon-gi, SUGA, and AGUST D. Please react to his trilogy. This song was actually his second song for the the trilogy. I will link you the meaning of the titles and the links. By the way, BTS ARMY is the fanbase, and whether each artist does their solo work or their Group work, they always introduce themselves as a member of BTS. "Hello, I'm SUGA of BTS" etc. Thank you for the reaction. *Suga aka Agust D's Trilogy:* Agust D - Daechwita (turn on CC's) - kzread.info/dash/bejne/o3ueo7mDYt29h6w.html Agust D - Haegeum Agust D - Amygdala (turn on CC's) - kzread.info/dash/bejne/e4xlxs2Sn6-uhtY.html *Meanings for the song titles* *Daechwita* - is a genre of Korean traditional music consisting of military music played by wind and percussion instruments, generally performed while the ARMY is marching or as a static performance usually when the King is arriving. (Suga aka Agust D meant the BTS ARMY to be implied.) *Haegeum* - has two meanings. The first, it's a traditional Korean string instrument, resembling a vertical fiddle with two strings, usually played at Royal Court. Also, it means to lift a ban, or release what is forbidden. *Amygdala* - is an almond shaped part of our brain which is commonly thought to form the core of a neural system for processing fearful and threatening stimuli, including detection of threat and activation of our fight or flight response. The amygdala helps to store memories of events and emotions so that an individual may be able to recognize similar events in the future. *This song is from his new album D-Day, and it's my favorite, and very meaningful. I think everyone should check this one out* Agust D (feat. Riuchi Sakamoto & Woosung) Snooze Eng. subs - kzread.info/dash/bejne/rHeC08avgpzLj9o.html

Min Yoongi aka Suga aka Agust D can SAY ANYTHING HE WANTS because ARMY got his back!
This song was 🔥 in concert. His first solo MV outside of his solo work within BTS was 'AgustD' followed by "Give it to me" which cinematographically follows the first one as a continuation. They are from his first mixtape. His next solo MV is 'Daechwita" which is part 1 of a trilogy with "Haegeum" being part 2 and "Amygdala" being part 3. The last one has a lot of his personal story in the video's imagery and is very emotional and triggering for some with deep pain so just a little warning there. The scar is not real, but he said that it is somewhat representative if the scars we carry that are not always visible to see, and sometimes the trauma's in our lives create the scars but sometimes we inflict them on ourselves. Hope you check out more. Thanks for sharing your reaction.
Thank you for reading and thinking about the lyrics. They are modern wisdom. Then, he adds the Haegeum instrumental in the rap! Wrote and produced it, too! Wrote and produced his album and many of his mixtapes.
This is actually the middle song of a trilogy- Daechwita is first and Amygdala is the final. You’d also like his Agust-D debut song “Agust-D.” He is also a member of BTS, which has 3 rappers and 4 singers. I see you like JCole, so you might like JHOPE’s collab with JCole called “On the Street.” I recommend “Do You” by RM, and that rounds out solos from the BTS rappers. Everyone in BTS is doing mandatory military service right now, but there’s ten years of group and solo work to enjoy! The 2021 Festa Room is a good intro to the variety of BTS music bc it’s a 10minute medley that spans their whole career.
Isn't is refreshing to listen to an intelligently written song after beiing bombarded by the media with songs talking about nothing but sex and money? Much of BTS songs are such, they are music for the thinkers..they will not push you to think this way or that but they will create conversations..

Well said, and totally on point. One of the biggest reasons I love their work/music.
Welcome!! Enjoy your journey down the rabbit hole, as it is called when you have entered the world of BTS ( or the individual artist) there is soooo much to learn, process, explore. BTS is amazing, and ARMY is amazing!💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Agust D and his group have been pushing boundaries about controversial things since they debuted in 2013 -- criticizing the South Korean government, societal expectations, and education system at different times. That is the reason that his group, BTS, got so huge.....
Great reaction. My only mild criticism was what made you chose to cut off the video before it finished? The final chopsticks scene you cut out had allegorical meaning tied within the context of the entire video storyboard flow which was started by the initial chopsticks scene. It was a meaning filled bookend. Storyboards act as layering of messaging over top of a musical track's lyrical messaging. 90 something percent of the time they are designed by the artist to enhance the track's content. I get it is difficult to engage all the subtleties of meaning even for a veteran to an artist such as Suga (Agust D). But as a FYI, I will tell you BTS content, Suga being part of BTS, frequently carries messaging right up to a video finishing even when the music stops earlier.
I agree with many of the comments. Agust D is fire! He tells it straight out. Do the trilogy and please check out more BTS. There’s a lot they put into their music. You will not be disappointed in this journey.
A member of BTS they are known for their lyrics. Agust D aka Suga is their main producer. This is part of a solo trilogy. When he really spits I just want to enjoy it so I watch the explaination videos by people like DKDKTV. Thats where you get the non pg translations explainations of slang cultural and historical references. Essential in dis tracks like DDAENG where Daeng has 7 different meanings. Theres no way a non korean speaker can appreciate this witty dis track without the explaination.
This song is part of a trilogy first there is Daechwita then Haegeum and lastly Amygdala.

Word of advice - if you're new to BTS, then your viewers are most likely new as well - so adjust your screen so the viewer can also see the subs.
Suga/AgustD is one of the most outspoken in the group about commenting on social issues but the other two rappers do as well. In fact a track with no MV he did with fellow BTS member RM “Strange” is calling out just as much (lyric videos only available). He’s pretty fearless about calling out haters (and reading them for filth in his raps 😂) and anything else. Another song on the same album as Haegum like this is “Polar Night” (lyric videos only). He is also the sole writer and producer of this song he’s one of the most in demand producers in the world. And he wrote the whole story board for the MV. Ridiculously talented and intimidating.

Thanks for watching; glad you enjoyed it! Min Yoongi/SUGA/Agust D is an incredibly talented rapper, writer, and producer. He is a member of the S Korean group BTS. Please do consider reacting to the rest of the trilogy that this song belongs to and the song Agust D. Are you able to have the lyrics available to be seen by the viewers? I could only see them when you paused; would be nice to see them as you do. The lyrics for Agust D's work (and any BTS or BTS member songs) are too good not to be able to see any appreciate. (And please do watch all the way to the end of the video)
Please do more agust d reactions as well as bts and other members they are all so talented and their songs are meaningful and amazing .. And while at it please react to guide by bangtan 7 by taylor to get to know them even more .. they are unique and special in their own way so is their music.... Amazing reaction looking forward for more bts from you 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Funny everyone mentions Joker but in the first video of this trilogy he is hanging out of the window of his car so I’ve always felt this went back to the first one, but Joker may have been the inspiration on that scene

I always took it that way as well.
You should react to August d by August D, it’s sooo good! Loved the reaction btw. and the way you actually tried to interpret and understand the lyrics:D
Min Yoongi is a musical genius. They call him the Hand of Midas because everything he touches turns to gold. His music, music he writes, music he produces. He's truly brilliant.
Thank you for reacting to our precious SUGA, lots of love and support goes to you 💜
You should check out Agust D's song "Strange" featuring RM of BTS. It is kind of a sister song imo to Haegeum where it talks aboit the illusion of freedom and how the capitalist system chooses what you like. Also about societal issues.
Love that you actually paid attention to the lyrics! BTS have quite a few political lyrics, some subtle some overt, and of course a lot of it relates to Korean politics so you have to find a good translation to understand the references. Another BTS member RM had a collab with Wale called 'Change' a few years back which I enjoyed, you should react to that. Re. censorship: One of BTS' biggest hits back in the day was a song called 'Spring Day' which on the surface seems like a mournful ballad about loss. But the video is full of references to a highly controversial national disaster in Korea which involved government corruption & cover-up. It was actually banned to speak about it at the time (under the former president), and if you did you would be put on a 'blacklist' and your career would be over. BTS cleverly put all these coded messages in their video which made the message obvious to the Korean public, but wasn't explicit enough to get them blacklisted, and the song became like an anthem for people mourning the tragedy. Other times they've explicitly called out government officials and far-right groups in their lyrics... there are some people out there who are mad with them I can tell you! Honestly they have too many haters. Because some of them started in the underground hip hop scene and decided to join a 'kpop idol' group, and because they then proceeded to become the most successful kpop group ever despite coming from a tiny company, surpassing all the artists from big labels, and because they broke barriers in the USA and became one of the most popular artists there through fan power alone, despite the American industry trying to shut them out... they have a lot of people all kinds of flustered and upset!! Speaking of which you should react to their song 'UGH' which is about the positive and negative functions of anger in society, I love that song.
7:28 You're right, South Korea is such a very strict and not so open minded country, even talking about Mental health is a taboo, not alone something controversial as that Even talking bad about your government can get you blacklisted But Agust D is Agust D, he do wants when he wants, and no one's stopping him Also it's also one of the main reason why BTS is so popular overseas, cause they're bold as f*ck They're not afraid to criticize ANYTHING, not even their government, older generations and their fans was spared
to be honest - don't be afraid to stop and talk about the lyrics because Yoongi/Agust would most def appreciate it and us fans always appreciate when someone stops to actually take in what he's talking about.
I like all three rappers in BTS. but my favorite is Suga rap. he is genius and brave💃💜
Welcome to the world of BTS 💜 You will love it 💜Agust D (Suga), like the rest of the band, is currently undergoing mandatory military service, so you have plenty of time to explore
Ok, so I suggest you check out the BTS rappers next, there are 3 of them: RM, Suga, and J-Hope. RM is the lead rapper and overall leader of the group, he's the only one that can speak English fluenly. Suga also goes by Agust D when he does his solo music, and it's also kind of his alter ego name as well. J-Hope is not only a rapper but he's also the lead dancer of BTS. Here are some recommendations of some music videos/tracks you should listen to: Suga/Agust D: Daechwita, Haegeum, Amygdala (in that order, it's a trilogy and tells a story), Agust D (self titled track), and Give it to Me. All those have music videos, but also listen to the songs D-Day, Huh?!, and SDL, there's no music video for those ones, but they're really good. RM: Joke (watch the music video with the English translation!), Monster (no music video but really good), Do You, Persona (under BTS but it's solely him on the track), Still Life with Anderson Paak, Wildflower, and Closer (no music video) J-Hope: Arson, More, Airplane, On The Street with J Cole, Ego, 1 Verse, Base Line, and HangSang (the last 3 don't have music videos but they're really good). Also check out the tracks Ddaeng and Ugh! that the 3 of them did, and their Cyphers that they also did together too, there are 4 cyphers. Cypher Pt. 3 is the favorite in the fandom but my favorite is Cypher Pt. 4. Hope you enjoy! 😊
Welcome to Bangtan world. I really enjoyed your reaction to AgustD/Suga, I look forward to seeing more and watching your Journey. I promise you will enjoy the Journey into AgustD /BTS! 💜
thank you for doing your research beforehand!
AUGUST D is my BTS bias from the moment I started listening to them. I absolutely love him. You need to check out his collar with Halsey on. her Lilith remix for the Diablo IV game.
*The Hand of Midas*
Thanks for the great reaction! I liked that you did your research. 💜💜💜💜💜💜
Agust D one of his favorite movies is also that Batman movie , also inception , he like Chris Nolan works , also he likes Scarface. As you see there is reference for scarface and that Batman movie. He tend to like those kind of movies about like money and mafias type of stuff. He also has a song called tony Montana. So he uses those movies and history references or books ( like he does in other songs ) and put that into his life experiences. In this case the “bad guy” was actually the police dude, not the “criminal” one. Cuz at the beginning you can tell that the drug maker place works for him that’s why the dude there ask for his help. And the “criminal” stole the money cuz was dirty money and burn it, and at the end the police was infiltrated in the police dude gang. So at the end the police gave the actual police guy ( detective ) , the one that you though was the criminal , a ride , and he is with HIS coat , aka the police / detective coat , cuz it was actually his not the other dude. So in other words this MV is to show you how is in reality when you lift the ban that makes us believe who is in the right and who isn’t. Also the other point of view is him in his life , like the two agust D referring to his previous work daewchita. Agust D created this storyline , dude is creative.
I love the reaction but I wish I could also see the subtitles :( but please keep reacting :)
Welcome. We’re here for BTS 💜
This is the 2nd song in a trilogy. 1st one is Daechwita and the last is Amygdala. They may not seem interconnected at first except for the scar on his face in each video, but each song represents part of his mindset at different stages in his career and life, with the last one being introspective.
i love that you really read the lyrics! You may review "Agust D" (track) by him as well, the beat is insane!
어서와 방탄은 처음이지? 환영합니다 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
I wish we could see the lyrics with you in the editing
"...But you must remember to differentiate freedom from self-indulgence." As an American this verse hit hard.
Agust D / Suga is a genius his lyrics are insane in his solo work or in Bts
Love the reaction
Please react to amygdala, polar night and shadow by him too
Silver BTS ARMY here. Thank you for the reaction. I had to watch Agust D's videos several times - not only because I love the music, but the videos are so great and I found new things in them continuously and unfortunately I don't speak Korean, so it was impossible to pay attention to music, lyrics, story, visuals all at the same time! 😃 If you go down the BTS rabbit hole, I'm happy to subscribe! 😉
Hi 👋... I'm not sure how much you know about Min YoonGi aka Suga/AugstD.... I hope the following info might be of interest to you. He began writing music lyrics and working with MIDI at age 11 and held a part-time job composing and arranging music at a recording studio at age 16. Active under the name "Gloss" (wordplay on his name YoonGi, which means "to shine") as an underground rapper in his hometown Daegu, He originally entered Big Hit Entertainment as a producer at age 17 and became the second member to join BTS..... At BTS debut in 2013 he was 20 y.o.... he is one of BTSs main producers/songwriters/composers and has over 150 song copyrights.... he also produces for other artists and has won awards for his work. Suga (SHU-GA.... from Shooting Guard - the position he played in basketball) ...... AgustD = SUGA + DT (Daegu Town - his hometown) Spelt Backwards Between his commitments as a member of BTS, Suga/Agust D took advantage of time on the plane and in hotel rooms after concerts to continuously produce and compose music. In an interview for Grazia Korea, Suga/Agust D expressed a desire to release the music he wanted to do without having to consider popular appeal or music ranking. He intended to release his music for free in the form of a mixtape to avoid such considerations, commenting that an album "has a feeling of being trapped in some sort of framework" due to the need for company involvement in promotion and advertising. He has released 2 mixtapes - this is his first official album (of which he continues to maintain full creative control) Developing Agust D musically on the base of hip hop, much of Agust D's inspiration for the lyrics came from his own stories of dream, youth, and reality. In order to differentiate his work from that of his work as Suga, he developed the alter ego "Agust D". Haegeum has 2 meanings...1. it is a Korean traditional musical instrument with 2 strings and.... 2. to lift a ban/to free what was restricted. This is the middle song in a trilogy..... He is a master storyteller.... a fellow army best explained the trilogy as - Daechwita... ridding himself of the need to prove his worth to others Haegeum... ridding himself of the confines of modern society Amygdala... he investigates the inner demons and trauma that started his confinement in the first place. Suga/AgustD was involved in all aspects of this song and music video and had great input into how the music video was designed/produced (working as usual with Director Lumpens (Choi YongSeok) who does most BTS MVs) - Yoongi wrote, composed and produced the song, he conceptualised the MV and had creative control.... he is a true genius. Hope you have a great day💜💜Sending Greetings from Australia

Ok b4 you go any further let me explain something about Augst D & his musical/performance personas in a way you should understand. Min Yoongi = Marshall Mathers Suga = Eminem Agust D = Slim Shady. When you react to RM plz note that RM now stands for Real Me not longer Rap Monster. Also J-Hope, Jay, & Jack are all the same person. Please know this is your 1st peek into the beautiful & emotional & chaotic in the best ways rabbit hole known as the BTS. Welcome ARMY is more than happy to answer genuine questions but are also extremely protective of the guys & aren't afraid to step up for the guys.
Did you watch it right to the very end n see that he got the red chopsticks in his hand again n the look on his face after that? For BTS n their solo videos, you'll need to watch it all the way to the last second, 'cos sometimes the best things or the important stuff is only shown right at the very end.

Yoongi has done some amazing critical and deep songs in his solo work. I recommend you check out 'Strange' by Agust D ft RM (also a member of BTS) and 'Polar Night' if you want to check our more songs along the same lines. BTS have also made songs leaning into this direction as a group.
You should watch spring day, and an Italians explaination of it. Their govt blackballed them for it. Their govt had a number of ppl on their “list”. You hit the nail on the head with your last comment.💜

The govt did not blackball BTS for Spring Day. The govt did punish other artists who openly criticised them for the Sewol Ferry disaster though. BTS have only openly said the song is about missing a friend. The video however definitely alludes to the disaster. Families who lost children in the disaster took it as a tribute but Big Hit & BTS were careful to avoid legal & political backlash. Very clever messaging.
BTS have always been political. Specially agust d. You should check out his album D-day. He also has songs with the other 2 rappers of the group rm and jhope. The 3 of them tend to write lyrics that are very poltical and has loads of social commentary both as bts and as soloists. Thats why BTS are known as some of the boldest artists of this generation.
Добро пожаловать:) Вы знакомы с BTS? Если нет, то коротко о группе. BTS это южнокорейская группа. В составе 3 рэпера и 4 вокалиста.
