First Time Fly Fishing at Montauk State Park. Part One
Фильм және анимация
I drove down to Montauk State Park from St. Louis. It's about 2 1/2 hours to get there, lots of rolling hills once you hit St. James. What a beautiful place to visit. Easy place to fish and not too crowded while I was there. They have cabins throughout the park and at the lodge they have hotel rooms. I'll be going down there on my Harley Davidson for a couple days in July. Relax and fish, then head to Eureka Springs in Arkansas.

Thanks for the great video. Looks like a great place for my next fishing day
I love montauk. Use dry flies and start at the upper end of the flies only area. I also had some Redhead wadding boots. They wore out in only a few seasons. Thanks for the video.

Thanks for the tips! I’ll start there. I need to plan a trip back soon.
I did the same thing with a pair of Chota boots the 2nd or 3rd time I wore them . $150.00 down the tubes! I had a pair of Chota before these that I wore for several years, however they had felt soles and you can't wear felt in Missouri anymore. Got a new pair of Simm's with BOA I am going to try out next month. Might pick up a second pair for insurance. Also thanks for posting the video!
Morning time at the whistle is the best time for fishing at Montauk. You can catch them all day but the best bet is early. It is beautiful there. Thanks for the video vey nice and well done.

I need to get myself up earlier and be there when the siren girls off. Thank you!!
Orvis pro boot with the boa system is the only boot I wear, comfortable and light. Be in Montauk next week for a few days, been going for years.
Keep going across the wooden footbridge, take a left and follow the path...and wheres your net?
Sorry about your boot-I've got RedHead waders, so I hope they perform ok this year

I think I probably made my boot go bad… kept them in the garage during high heat and in the winter when it was freezing. My boot stay in the house now… your waders should be ok… have fun!
I have destroyed 2 pairs of Simms boots in 2 years. I bought Orvis this time. Way better construction and such a comfortable fit. If you ever want help my wife is putting on a Womens Fly fishing clinic @ Bennett Springs in June. Tight lines.

That would be awesome. Can you please let me know info on it? Thank you.
Learn to roll cast. It will open up more fishing opportunities.
Duct tape fixes everything I always carry a roll with me as well as tissues. Be prepared
