First Time Driving a Polaris Slingshot! Roush Edition MANUAL Review

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The Polaris Slingshot is an interesting one - not a motorcycle but not a car, it straddles that line and is simply its own type of transportation. Jake got to try the Slingshot Roush Edition, which adds a wider 305mm rear tire, 4-piston Brembo front brakes, and a roof canopy to the regular #Slingshot. #Polaris is now using their own 2.0L four cylinder and in this case, it was paired to a 5-speed Aisin manual transmission.

I just bought a Polaris slingshot 3 weeks ago and I love it! One thing You missed was the lockable storage behind both seats. Both are big enough to hold a small backpack or a helmet.

It is the engine that comes from the Saturn sky, not the cobalt. Nor the transmission. But you have a great delivery

How does this guy not even know that the Polaris Slingshot has two big storage bins behind the seats? I wish Polaris would stop getting people like this that have no idea what their product is reviewing it.

Totally missed the storage compartments behind the seats. Also, the button on the steering wheel changes the radio display. Hook up with bluetooth and text messages will appear on screen as long as you are not in motion.

Same. I bought the roush on Halloween 2023. It's pretty cool. I just don't really like the $800 a month payment, but hey, you only live once.

Hmm now looking online for used Polaris engines. Would be a cool swap into the Miata if you want to be different to the K swap or Ecotec swap crowd.

@@jordanl5628 Hmm I have a '15 FoST... haha that is a cool idea though for the Miata I like an NA approach for a more linear power delivery. If the ST ever gets rear ended though... you might be onto something. :)

Wrong wrong wrong Chevy Cruz Chevy cobalt used a 1.4 or 1.5 L Chevy motor that Polaris used is a 2.4 L. How long did you have it? and you didn’t notice the storage in the back of the seat you can put a full size, helmet, travel bags, etc. Also, it has electric power steering. And one more thing disco sucks!

Not so much scared of the Slingshot as very aware of the drivers around me... the DC area is not a great place for these or motorcycles and at this price point, I'd just rather end up in a Miata.

Yeah, they're right for some people and honestly, you have to be "silly" to own one. Not a bad thing at all and I see how they're fun for the right owner. Didn't land for me though, especially given the price.

It was a fun look into "the lifestyle" for a week! Not really one that I connected with but I'm glad Polaris offered up the Slingshot for my take on it all. Given they reached out to me/this channel and asked for our perspective, it sure seems like I do have a place reviewing it, whether you like what I said or not. *Slingshots aren't for everyone and that's not a problem* unless you're insecure in your own ownership or something. Enjoy what you have and thanks for watching!
