I was at Single Shot Sue's first time match and I gott'a say it's always great fun to share in a first time shooter's excitement. Kind'a makes us old guys feel just a bit younger. So thanks Sue and thanks again to Jed I for capturing that "Kodak moment" that he does so well. Bear

I know the feeling.... Did you see where my sidekick whipped me in the Speed Shooting contest at Oregon State this year? ~Jed 🤠

Hey Jeditv. I'm new to cowboy action shooting. I'm not registered because I'm not fully involved. My grandfather is a SASS member with the Butterfield trail regulators and I'm going to one of their shoots this Saturday. I'm not planning on registering because I don't have enough time to enjoy this hobby and I am busy with school. Any tips that could help me have more fun or shot efficiently? Thanks Jedi

Howdy, +Ryden Lewis I think you will shoot more efficiently if you focus more on having fun than on shooting to win. Let it be more about spending time with your grandpa and his pards and less about going fast when the timer goes off. I think that if you show up, work with the posse and do a little shooting you'll find that you make friends fast in this sport. And I guarantee the fun (and eventually the fast shooting) will happen. Let us know how it goes.

Would be fun to go out there and shoot with you folks. My equipment would be a little offbeat for you -- two .455 Webley revolvers (modified for 45 ACP), a Martini-Enfield single-shot .303 British, and a 1921 Martini-Greener single-shot prison shotgun. Would you let me participate?

Unfortunately the .303 British would be too much for shooting at steel targets (all rifles need to be in a pistol caliber; 45 Colt, 44/40, etc...) so, that rifle would not work. The Webley's could be used (just for fun) as long as they are loaded with lead projectiles and not jacketed rounds. If you are in the Southern Oregon / Northern California area, please feel free to contact me via email to discuss the particulars of you comin' out and playin' with us.
